They were very nice and accommodating when we asked for extra gravy though! The mashed potatoes were very clearly made from a mix as it was on the more watery side. Ambience: 4/5 - typical fast food chain decorations. You definitely feel the inspiration from both taco bell and KFC. Since there were so many customers coming in and out, some tables were sticky and dirty though. Service: 3/5 - they tried really hard to serve the customer and deliver the food but they seemed very short staffed where everyone is doing everything but no one specializes in their station. The cashier clearly didn't want to be there, didn't want to be talking to me, and tried to make me think that I wasn't saying exactly what I wanted, when I was in fact very simply saying exactly what I wanted. When pulling into the order line I was joking with my daughter, watch they are out of chicken! The wait times are always 15-45 minutes. I hadn't had KFC in nearly 20 years and went recently because we had a coupon and may I just say, it did not disappoint! We got the 6-piece meal and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried, and the biscuits and sides were yummy. The only issue we ran into at this location was that we waited over 30 minutes for our food, I'm guessing because the location is understaffed, so just be aware that there may be a wait here. My friends and I came in to pick up a bucket of chicken and sides on Memorial Day. After placing our order, we waited in the lobby for over 40 minutes, listening to the staff ask where th cook was and tell customers they were out of nuggets. We also noticed several people were the recipients of incorrect orders, which caused us a good deal of nervousness regarding our own. One of the staff brought out food, called out the incorrect name for a customer, laughed it off, then coughed without covering their mouth properly. Nor did they was their hands before returning to their station at the front counter. When the staff figured out that they didn't have enough white meat for our order (40 mins after we placed it) they came out to tell us they were adding in dark meat. We had paid for a white meat only bucket, and were not even offered a refund or compensation for the change in our order. KFC got a major remodel with new equipment, so I thought we'd try out the chicken. We hadn't been to KFC in decades... the first 6 times it was good, biscuits, chicken, gravy and potatoes surprisingly good! Well, that ended with the later part of this summer and now the fall. It's gone from barely acceptable to horrible. Chicken soggy, greasy - 1/2 inch of grease at the bottom of the bucket, the biscuits doughy and hardly baked/air fried, the potatoes and gravy were dismal as well. They must have a new staff there, which is sad as whoever did quality control there was good. As of the end of August through October 13th it's gone to hell, literally. We won't be back again. KFC was a good memory. I guess it should stay that way. (In fact, something awful has happened to Port Angeles "to go" food since about the same time. Have lived in this town for twenty years and my very first experience at this location was horrible. I'm a 45 year Foodservice professional. Over the years every 4 or 5 years I've given them an opportunity to get it right and time after time this store has failed miserably. My most recent experience... stoped in with my GF on out way out of town. I got a two piece meal and she got a power bowl (basically a taco Salad). She was satisfied with her meal but mine was disgusting! Two pieces of chicken that were without a doubt not the standard KFC Recipe. The flavor was similar but it was not the KFC breading. The breading was thin and bland and the chicken itself ladened with grease. Of course they didn't include any napkins even though I asked them to make sure they did. Made eating in the car a total mess. KFC like many chains has a process that keeps the foods and service consistent and up to a level of quality approved by the brand. How hard is it to follow instructions. These guys have not figured it out in twenty years. The location is dirty, the staff Ive dealt with have either been rude or simply uncaring.
