I'm not a person that gives bad reviews in general. That being said.. the 5 times I have been to this location in the past 3 months since I've moved to Mira Mesa has left me no choice. You have the WORST employees. 2 of the times through the drive through I sat there (the only car in line) for over 15 minutes.. had to leave the drive through and come inside and say hey what's going on. Then the employees decided that it was time to work. 3/5 of the other times I actually got the drive through to do its job.. there are 3-4 people that show up near the window and they are all gossiping and then when I get my food it's not a "thank you for your order".. it's just a hand out the window with a dirty brown bag. But when I got there at 6:25pm Saturday night, the door was locked and the sign says I have to go through the drive-thru for online order pickups. This was frustrating since I had to line up in the drive thru line just to pickup my paid order. They hand me my order and says "everything is there." Employees are not friendly here. I was beginning to regret straying from my go to KFC on Miramar Road. I ordered a 10 piece bucket of original recipe. Scent of 11 herbs and spices was just like I remembered. Battered skin was unexpectedly a bit crunchy. Normally the skin is soft and full of flavor. Looks like skin was overcooked as parts were browner and hard while most of the pieces were a lighter golden color. The meat underneath was very tender and juicy. I won't be back as I prefer my original recipe chicken without the partially crunchy skin and if my camera isn't welcome I'll go where it is. The Miramar Road location cooks their chicken perfectly and they let me take all the photos I want. read more

Ordered a two piece original breast and wing. Thighs have practically zero meat and they are greasy, and they love to unload those along with the horrid rehydrated mashed potatoes. Got home, sure enough they just gave me the default despite repeating my order twice though the speaker. I drove back, an watched as he took the chicken that I handled back into the warmer. If this is the location where the Fresh and Easy used to be, then these people are my new friends. I planned a luncheon at work and with my slow self only had twenty minutes to get the food from here. Before going here, I went to R and B Filipino restaurant for lumpia and pancit. I told the lady I wanted to make two transactions so I can use 2 coupons. I wasn't sure if that was allowed, but she just started to ring me up. I ended up getting 30 pieces of chicken, 14 biscuits, 6 large sides for about $55! I was so excited. There was a little hiccup since they're system didn't have one of the coupons installed, but the manager came and made it work. My wait wasn't long and I got to clock in on time at work! Since early this week, millions of people have been flocking to KFC's nationwide to unthink the brand and get a taste of their latest offering, the KGC (Kentucky Grilled Chicken). Lines have been absolutely insane at local locations with waits sometimes in excess of 2 hours. It's amazing how little it seems peoples' time is worth and what people are willing to do for a few pieces of the Colonel's special spices. After hearing about how long the wait would be during the afternoon rush, I decided to bounce and try my luck again later that evening. When I returned just before closing, there was no wait at all and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Not being able to bear the shame of just ordering the free stuff, I decided to accompany my chicken with some dessert in the form of their apple pies. The chicken itself was well seasoned but both pieces were very small. While the meal may have been free (and I shouldn't be complaining), it was supposed to be representative of the actual paid meal. If that was the case, it really wasn't that great. It was a complete meal however, and came with mashed potatoes and cole slaw as well as a biscuit. The apple pies were a bit too oil for my taste, but they were a nice conclusion to the tasty, grilled chicken. I'm not sure if this promotion will convince people to make the switch from fried to grilled chicken, but what I am sure of is that KFC won't be selling any chicken for at least 2 weeks, the duration of this promotion. Get there early or get there late, because that's going to be the only available times you'll be able to get some free grub with a reasonable wait time. KFC is not my go-to fried chicken joint, but their chicken, chicken pot pies, mashed potatoes, and mac n cheese all have a nostalgic taste for me. Other than that, it was alright. The fried chicken starts to get tasteless and soggy after the 3rd piece. The only combo I enjoyed was the Nashville hot tenders. I love that it comes with pickles to balance out the spice and crunch. Would have been 5 stars but.... I went to the local KFC for the first time in a while. I used the drive thru for the first time and it was a good experience. Staff was friendly and prompt. I whizzed through in less than 5 minutes at 645pm on a Friday night. I ordered a chicken tenders meal. The food was yummy until I got near the bottom of my mashed potatoes with gravy. As I swallowed another spoonful of mashed potatoes, there a bitter taste in my mouth. I had no idea what it was. I looked down at the styrofoam container that the mashed potatoes came in and to my horror, I saw that one round area at the bottom of the cup had melted! (See pictures attached) I immediately spit out whatever residue was still in my mouth, but I know the damage was already done because I'd just swallowed the residue of the melted styrofoam that seeped into the mashed potatoes and caused the bitter taste. I'm guessing the container was placed on a hot surface at some point before an employee placed it in the cardboard meal box or the potatoes were way too hot when scooped into the styrofoam cup. Needless to say, the poison incident at the very end of my meal was a big bummer and health issue. read more

Fried chicken here has been more salty than what I'm used to when eating at a KFC branch. Usually the KFC chicken isn't cooked right when there is a middle layer between the fried chicken skin and the meat that has almost a very mushy/sandy texture of uncooked seasoning. This happens quite a bit at KFC branches I have been to including this one. I'll probably stick to Popeye Chicken for my fried chicken cravings. read more
