I think I had the wrong type of restaurant in mind when I arrived here. Khan Baba is focused on Indian, Pakistani and Bengali food. For vegetarians there is an assortment but it's not necessarily Indian. My friend had a combo and he remarked that he felt that the food was not fresh, maily the chicken. I had the chana masala and liked it but I was wondering if it was a touch on the salty side. Service was friendly and informative. Prices are reasonable. Make sure you take a look at the menu before making a choice as google had indicated that this was an Indian restaurant which of course it is not. This is my third time having lunch with my family. The first time was to go order while I was shopping next door. I met the owner and had a good conversation. The food was wonderful, especially the goat curry and chicken Biryani, which are not like Indian cooking. The second time was the weekend lunch specials, so I could taste a variety of dishes for $16.99. We ordered Falooda and Chai. I love the Falooda. The taste is exactly what I remember back home!! Today, at lunch, there were more customers than there used to be, and restaurants shot two employees. We ordered a lot of food!!!The food is still delicious. The owner apologizes for the slow service. If I were a first-time customer, I would not return, and my review would be one star. But I will definitely be back and enjoy the home cooking at a small-town-style family-owned restaurant. We entered this place thinking it was Mediterranean but as soon as we came to know it's Indian we were happy however our high hopes went down very quick. The waiter provided was the menu and didn't check on us, seeing that cashier came to take the order. We ordered 2 combo biryanis (mutton and chicken) both the biryanis tasted "Yuck" no salt in them and the rice felt like rubber. We also ordered faluda and tea but that never made to us. The skinny Spanish waiter could see was waiting with a pile of empty biryani plates but he wouldn't care to ask if we want or ordered dessert. Since no body cares we left just paying what he had. Giving this place 4.5 stars. They make things fresh to order, so they won't have all menu items at all times of the day. They didn't have some of the stuff we wanted, so I was especially disappointed about the lack of Kashmiri chai. However, everything they did have was quite good. Ordered two rolls - one chicken and one beef, and both were delicious with golden crispy fries, well seasoned. The papri chaat was also good, and the topping stayed crispy until we got home 40 minutes later. Bun kabob was nice and spicy, and the bun was grilled as well (a bit on the burned side, but still yummy). Samosas were crispy and a good medium size. Rabri falooda was amazing, my favorite part. Saw their ad on Facebook and was in the area so I gave them a try. Love the fact they are open late and are halal. No too often you can get your halal fill in late at night. I ordered the potato samosa, chicken biryani with the zarda combo. The samosas were frozen/boxed samosas that were merely fried and served. Nothing authentic about the samosas except for the high level of salt for being a processed food. The chicken biryani came with a surprise shami kebab which was very good. The biryani was also quite flavorful with lots of masala. The only negative about the biryani was that the portion was a little small with only 3 small pieces of chicken and a potato as a filler. The zarda was quite good. Thankfully it didn't have any of the candied fruits some people put in their zarda, but it did have a gulab jamun with koya on top. Service was good and the place was clean. It took 20 Min for the order to be ready which is exactly what I was told for the wait time. Was excited to try but unfortunately didn't meet my expectation. Club sandwich was good but definitely not great. French fries were definitely refried as they were too oily. Not sure how fries has pockets inside full on oil that just bursts into ur mouth upon biting. Not just one or two pieces, all French fried in both orders were same. And on top on that too salty. I am surprised how can someone mess up fries that bad. Zinger burger was below average and even living in Florida I had better halal zinger burgers, let along comparing with other cities. I would give this a 0 if i could. Any good review has to be bots. First off, they seated us in a disgusting table full of food on the tables that we had to clean ourselves. The place was disgusting and obv have no sense of cleanniss. The water jug they gave us was horrible and covered in filth. Their food was horrible, to say the least. Our food came 1 hour after, with just pani puri that we had to make ourselves. If I'm paying you, it should be assembled. Our peaya was like someone took it from the streets. Full of oil and no flavor. The chicken wings was just full of garam masala and was so salty it was disgusting. Our roll was made from frozen paratha and had meat that was just spicy spices but lacked so much flavor. It was salty and made me want to throw up.
