The word "Hidden Gem" is perfect for this cafe. Direct access on the Las Olas strip but the frontage is hidden from the roadway view behind giant cement pillars next to a bank. We just happened to be walking by and saw the coffee and matcha billboard on the sidewalk so we had to take a peek. Very spacious outside covered patio with six small tables with brown and white wooden chairs. The front doors were covered by a giant lemon tree which was a touch of southern charm. A cafe with an obvious southern farm to table charm. The Ethiopian espresso was unique and tasty and the fresh banana bread and cinnamon rolls were enticing. The distressed cement flooring with the lemon tree murals providing a relaxed ambiance complemented by southern details throughout including specialty matcha lattes served in mason jar mugs. The southern decor flows into the clean customized bathroom with withered cement flooring and a farmhouse rustic wood shelf with black steel hooks. We loved this farm to table restaurant as we had the pleasure to visit during this past weekend. Food was so yummy, with a few setbacks- shakshuka was very runny and their GF pancakes were very hard and dry. I got their burrata toast and loved it and my husband got the egg croissant and he also enjoyed his meal. We got a few items to share as well. This rating is about both taste and overall value. No wait on a Sunday at brunch time. There are tables inside and outside. We started with the vegan cinnamon roll. We asked them to heat it up a bit which is always a good idea. We felt the taste was ok - good for vegan, but it tasted like raisins to us (like cinnamon swirl bread from the grocery store). The steak sandwich was awful. For $24 you get 4 tiny bites of steak (2 per half.) Surprisingly, the steak was well cooked for what it was. The bread is what was really bad - it tasted super stale. I normally love ciabatta sandwiches. It was not toasted and just ... airy and stale. The menu didn't say it had cheese yet it came with cheese. The egg was dripping all over the place. And it had a side of marinated tomatoes which seemed really random and out of place - there were tomatoes on the sandwich too. How about some real sides for $24! The pancakes saved it / earned them 2 stars - those were very tasty and well presented. Fresh berries and a nice touch with the orange zesty syrup. Service was average - nothing bad, nothing special. 18% is included in the bill which they did alert us to. It always annoys me that restaurants offer to add 3% as the lowest add-on (why not 2% to make a standard 20%?). read more

Cute place, we went on a Sunday morning at 9AM and it was close to empty. We were promptly seated and the service was nice and relatively fast throughout. They have an extensive menu, perhaps too many items in my opinion but at least there are choices for everyone. Food wise, we decided to go with the pocket roasted sandwich. You can see they really tried hard to do something interesting looking, the presentation of the food was worked. However it was not great to eat. The sandwich was way too dry, which I think could be avoided if they changed the way they assemble the ingredients, it's stacked instead of mixed. And perhaps a little bit of sauce would be needed? We then had the chicken wrap which was good. I tried one of their oat-based drink, the super pink (forgot the exact name). Interesting but would not order again Considering the prices, I don't think this place is there yet. Tried out Ol'Days for Sunday brunch, which is located in the financial district of Fort Lauderdale. Easy garage parking right on top of the place, and of course street parking in the area. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I got the hibiscus lemonade which was refreshing and really tarty. To eat, I got eggs, potatoes, and toast. The eggs were great and so were the potatoes. I don't usually like sweet potatoes, but these ones were good as it was mixed with regular potatoes. The toast had a nice crunch to it as well, although I wish I had asked for some butter. Super cute spot with great branding, but the food DID NOT deliver. Loved the aesthetic--adorable bags, nice decor, and sweet staff. I ordered a matcha and specifically asked if it was ceremonial grade. The girl said yes, but I don't think she heard me clearly. As a matcha enthusiast, I'm 99% sure it wasn't ceremonial grade--it just didn't taste right. She kindly switched it out for a chai tea, but that was basically 80% almond milk and 20% chai. Tasted like plain almond milk, and I ended up tossing it. I also ordered the short rib sandwich. As you can see in the photo, it was about 50% fat--not enjoyable at all. The bread was overwhelming (thick, dry, and way too much of it), and the fries tasted like they weren't even cooked through--just soft and starchy. One major issue for me: if you market yourself as a farm-to-table spot, don't serve Kirkland Costco milk in plastic jugs. At the very least, offer some organic or local alternative. Giving it 2 stars--one for the aesthetic and one for the kind staff. But food-wise? I won't be going back. I'd rather walk over to Pura Vida next time. read more

Love this place in so many respects. First, the food tastes amazing and simply clean & healthy. Asparagus soup was refreshing, and the bread it came with was delicious-- I'd come back for this bread! Veggie sandwich was superb. (I should note that we are meat eaters!) Mocktails were also tasty and beautifully presented. Almond donut (free of sugar, dairy, gluten) was very good. We came here after working out at a nearby studio because we were craving something healthy and fresh. Ive never been to Ol Days before and I was so surprised by the most adorable decor upon entering. It is at a hotel and parking is by the hotel garage so factor that in when you are coming. They do not validate parking is another to keep in mind. The food was good, portions are perfect for us. Mind you if you have a bigger appetite it wouldnt be enough. For sure my brother wont be full eating here. The drinks honestly were a miss. Descriptions looked good on the menu but flavorwise I do not recommend. I believe we got the summer specials one w the blue pea tea and another w espresso and pb in it. Youre better off drinking a mimosa instead. My bf got the champ-pancakes and they were sooo good! I got the shakshuka which was pretty good and we shared the chia pudding. Improvements can be made by better management. We were told we'd be seated next. Table gets up, 10 min go by and the serves says "manager said we're not taking anymore tables" For management to send their employee to deal with a guest problem, wrong. It appears that everything on their menu is mindful of this. The presentation of everything is super over-the-top and cute. For us, the food was decent. I just looked at my receipt (well after we left the restaurant) and realized that the tip is automatically included in the bill and when you select a tip amount at the end, it was actually for an additional tip. To make matters worse, the restaurant automatically added a 20% gratuity, which is completely unreasonable given the level of service. Such a pretty location! The attention to detail for designs inside is fantastic. I noticed their lavender matcha on social media and knew I had to go in to try it. I didn't look at the menu beforehand. So I didn't realize it was a full restaurant, not just a small cafe, but still a pleasant surprise. My friend and I decided to split our breakfast as neither of us were that hungry but the options sounded great. We were also told that their portions are pretty large, and they were right! We had wonderful service honestly. The staff consistently checked on us, we never had to ask for anything. Parking is pretty easy if you know which lots to go to. Otherwise finding street parking is extremely difficult downtown. Now I did start out with the lavender matcha and it was good but not exactly what I was expecting. It looks very pretty but the lavender was difficult to notice in flavor as matcha is pretty overpowering. Still yummy though! My friend and I split the waffles with coconut cream and fresh berries. We were both so happy it was gluten free too! The waffles were absolutely delicious and the coconut cream made a yummy difference. The maple syrup was light which was appreciated and it came with more of it on the side. The food and drinks were good, but everything did seem overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately, wasn't really impressed with OL'DAYS. It's really a shame because the decor is really cute and the location is also convenient if you live in downtown. The food wasn't very tasty and I even found a piece of something plastic in my meal. The coffee is good, but it's pretty pricey. My friend and I came here for breakfast and at first we couldn't find the place but maybe that was more on us. The overall ambiance is cute for like a brunch or tea party but the service did it in for me. It wasn't busy at all a handful of empty tables. So they said we could sit anywhere. After being sat we were not greeted by our server; it got to a point that we were going to get up and leave and someone that was not our server asked if we'd been helped. Although the food was very nicely plated it was average at best; you can't really go wrong with breakfast and it tasted like I made it at home there was not extra oomph that made me want to come back. To top it all off 10% gratuity is already embedded in the check so we think that's why the server didn't really care. With the amount of breakfast spots in South Florida I won't come back here unless it's for a friend's party or something. read more
