The food here was amazing. A switch up from your typical Thai food. The service was quick and food came out fairly quickly too. Cute ambiance as if to take you back to Thailand. Would very much come back the next time I am in Portland.

My son and I arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised that Happy Hour was between 3-5pm. We were the only ones in the restaurant and ordered quickly - spring rolls, chicken ping, Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly and Khao Soi with shrimp, all medium spice. The pork belly and chicken ping was unbelievable! I could eat that everyday. Staff was quick and pleasant. Lots of seating and a really cute kitschy table in a tiki tuk. Decor was fun and colorful.

Was visiting Portland just for the day with one of my good friend, this was our 2nd stop of the day and honestly was super good! Presentation wise like WOW they did above and beyond, flavor of everything above and beyond, the ambiance of the whole place was very calm cozy and the decorations were lively. Our server was super sweet and kind and very attentive. I couldn't finish my food since I was feeling a bit stuffed already but opted to take it home since it was still a delicious meal. I will definitely look for this place again when I come back around summer time!

One of my favorite thai spots in the pearl district. The decor of this place is super fun and colorful. Their portions are worth it for the price (especially in the pearl district) and the food is great. Our server was super friendly and the food came out fairly quick. The sauce that comes with their Kor Moo Yong (grilled pork) is my favorite.

Khao San was fantastic from start to finish. Best Thai place in Portland! We ordered the basil chicken, crab fried rice, and fresh spring rolls, and every dish was packed with flavor. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Absolutely would recommend.

We Just moved here and this place did not disappoint. The service was top notch. Our waiter THU was fantastic and helpful. My partner and I are gluten free and dairy free and the food was amazing still. Definitely going back.

The cutest Thai restaurant! The tuktuk is a great representation and the interior is overall reminiscent. Servers were friendly and food was great. I got the crab fried rice and loved it. The flavor was just right and there were actual crab pieces in it.

Had walked by this place so many times and finally gave it a try. The interior itself is roomy and spacious with large wood beams and fun Thai decor. We grabbed a couple menus and sat ourselves. Wound up going with the fish cakes and the basil chicken which we split. The food itself was tasty and flavorful. The portions I'd say were about mid range based on the price. We weren't the hungriest so I'd be interested in coming back and trying it another time. Service across the board was solid. We had water brought out immediately when we arrived which was great and the food also came out fast. I was a little confused on where to actually order and pay from since there was a pay here sign at the front but everything else was table service. All in all a nice place to stop by for a quick bite.

It is a cute place that does evoke Thailand memories. We arrived at happy hour so there were lots of great deals. Alas, our cocktails were too sweet but the beer was just fine. The food was tasty and happily some our preferred dishes were also on the happy hour special! Service was friendly but occasionally slow.

We had such a great experience at Khao San Thai while visiting Portland. We started with the pork pot stickers and the sauce they came with was absolutely delicious. For our entrées we ordered the pineapple fried rice with pork, the ping skewers, and the pad see ew with chicken, everything was amazing. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and really made the meal feel special. The drinks were phenomenal as well. On top of that, the service was wonderful -- the staff were incredibly kind and even offered to take photos for us. It made the whole experience feel very welcoming. Highly recommend if you're in Portland!

Loved it here. Service and food were amazing. I only wish it was Thai music instead of pop playing but it's a beautiful ambience with great Thai street food.

There are a lot of Thai restaurants in Portland. Khao San is the hidden gem for Thai food in this city and they have been opened for over decades. Foods ; Pretty authentic taste like you eat the local foods in Thailand you might not need to ask any condiments to add on just tell your server what you wanna eat and the level of spice you can handle ..That's it !! Their food presentation is so beautiful, they garnish foods with eatable flowers and greens that make food more fancy and unique. I'd recommend the grilled menus such as Kor moo yang, Gai yang , Crying tiger or Ping, they marinated meats with their sauces and served with the house special dipping sauces moreover if you order smth grills, Do not forget to order papaya salad to eat with grill menu that is good combination like a perfect pair of red wine and steaks in version of dining at Thai cuisine. Other items that I would recommend are Khao Soi, Chineses broccoli with crispy pork belly, Pad thai, Pad see ew, Pad kee mao, Holy basil (Pad kra pow) , Duck curry, Massaman curry with crispy roti, Those items really hit the spot. You won't be disappointed if you order them for sure..!! Cocktails; they have a lot of signature cocktails and mocktails on the drink menu, their cocktails are very interesting, It is combined between Eastern - Tropical ingredients mixed with Western mixology style, for example they make cocktails from Thai tea, Lychee, Green tea and other tropical ingredients that they can find in the US . Lychee sorbet martini, Phuket fantasy and Forest Gump are my favorites but I have to come back here again to try their cocktails more. Atmosphere; Fun environment like you are on Khao San Road in Thailand that well known for the tourists from around the globe. They have dining table TuK Tuk inside the restaurant that you don't have to fly over 17 hours to Thailand for riding on Tuk Tuk. Service: The foods come out pretty fast, friendly and helpful staff.

While a few things stood out, the meal as a whole didn't quite hit the high marks I was hoping for. Here is how it broke down: The Starters (The Highlight): Karaage (Fried Chicken): This was easily the best part of the meal. The pieces were large, juicy, and had a great, ultra-crispy crunch on the outside. Takoyaki: Decent texture and well-presented on a long plate with plenty of bonito flakes, making it a solid appetizer to share. The Mains (A Bit Average): Spicy Ramen: The noodles had a good chew, but the broth lacked the deep, rich complexity you expect from a really stellar ramen. Even with the spicy paste mixed in, the flavor profile felt a bit flat. Chashu Don (Rice Bowl): While it was a generous portion packed with chopped chashu and minced meat, it ended up tasting a bit monotone after a few bites and could have used more balance or a punchier sauce. Overall, it's a fine spot if you want a quick, filling meal, but the flavors didn't quite wow me enough to make it a standout. Solid, but nothing mind-blowing.

The establishment in question is none other than the divine Grassa, a name that now rolls off the tongue with the same richness as its most indulgent fare. And oh, what fare it is. Here, along the lively stretch of Portland, one may witness noodles brought to life before their very eyes fresh, authentic, and handled with a confidence that borders on audacity. These delicate strands are then enrobed in a mac and cheese so decadently composed, so brazenly elevated, that it dares to redefine comfort itself.
