Excellent gluten-free options here as a dedicated facility! The store itself has a chill vibe, is very clean, and service is friendly. You order at counter and they bring food to table, and can watch some of the pastry chefs at work. We got the custard bun and almond brioche, and had asked them both to be warmed while we ate there. The custard bun was soft, pretty light, and filled with custard that wasn't too sweet. Delicious! I think the texture of bun made it feel like it could have also gone really well with something like pão de queijo, since it had a little bit of density to it. The almond brioche was also excellent! Overall, I really enjoyed this place, and would definitely consider returning.
So yummy! I've been dying to try this place out for a while now, and I just so happened to be in the area for it. Note there's only street parking available, but there's lots of shops and stores around nearby to walk around. :) I walked in around noon, was greeted kindly by all the staff and there was already a decently sized line but the line went by super quickly. I like how there's laminated menus right as you walk in you can take over while you wait to order at the counter. I ordered their tuna salad with sweet onion dressing, as well as their mango smoothie. I am STILL thinking about the salad!!! It was so fresh, the dressing was to die for soo flavorful. The smoothie was also super refreshing to wash it all down! I can't wait to stop by once more after my monthly skincare appointments across the street, it'll bet favorite treat to look forward to
This place was so good we actually went back. We were on the hunt for a gluten-free bakery and heard that this was the place to stop at. At first we were just going to get drinks, as we wern't hungry at the time so we started off with a berry smoothie and a strawberry matcha. Both were quite good. After some encouragement, tried the cinnamon roll. That sealed the deal that we needed to come back and try some other goodies. Day two we got the French toast with bacon and egg, Japanese custard puff, and almond brioche. All of these were delicious, and provided enough food for brunch for two. The mark of a good gluten-free baked good is that you don't even know that it's gluten free. The egg was well cooked, so was the thick cut bacon, and to my surprise dipping the Greens from the salad in the double berry vinaigrette with like eating candy. The French toast was thick cut, dence and eggy, paired nicely with the syrup. The almond brioche was probably one of the best I've ever had. The Japanese custard puff was delicious, especially the custard! Highly recommend giving it a try whether you can eat gluten or not!
I went to Kirari West again and somehow it was even better than last time. We got the cinnamon rolls and the Japanese-style custard bread and I genuinely considered canceling the rest of my day. Absolutely, unapologetically, mother-effing DIVINE. If I lived closer, this place would be a problem. A delicious, carb-scented problem. I already drive 30-40 minutes just to get my hands on these breads, and I would do it again without hesitation. Yes. Yes. And yes all day long. I need more of the Japanese custard bread bread. I am currently drooling. Please send help. Or bread. Mostly bread... with custard. The lovely taste of the bread that's not too sweet filled with custard that is also the perfect amount of sweet. The cinnamon rolls... if you are gluten-free, I would definitely run to this place. The customer service is so kind whenever I ask about any other allergies they make sure to know. The seating is a fun filled modern vibe. we made a few friends haha. I love that you can buy bread there and the bread is also delicious. See you at kirari West! Ps. Save me some pastries for me! Love this place. Have been multiple times and ordered multiple different items, always good. Great place to bring a laptop and work. Daybreak bowl, cluckwork bowl, cinnamon brioche, mango-go dance smoothie all recommended
Excellent pastry | gluten free We stopped by here for the first time to pick up some bakery goods. The bread is excellent! We picked up 2 Japanese custards, blueberry scone, and a cinnamon brioche. This is a real treat coming here because it's gluten free and not too sweet. The Japanese custard is really good with lots of custard. The brioche is popular too. They also have an almond brioche. $25 for 4 pastries. This looks like an excellent brunch spot. They also offer quinoa bowls and health foods. They have a nice selection of smoothies I'd like to try next time.
My wife and I are always looking for delicious gluten-free restaurants and had the pleasure of stopping at Kirari West. We got their tuna sandwich, which came with a delicious chicken and vegetable soup, a London Fog, and by far the best gluten-free cinnamon roll we have ever tried. Needless to say, Kirari West made a regular of us. The place was clean and quiet, with a nice rotation of different music each time we visited. Not to mention the welcoming staff. Whether you're gluten-free or not, we HIGHLY recommend coming here.
Fresh and delicious Gluten Free cafe! Loved the complete GF menu. My best friend has ciliac, and there was no concern for cross-contamination whatsoever. The food was spectacularly fresh, and packed with quality ingredients. The baked goods were so tasty and didn't resemble any of the typical GF options. Highly recommend the Japanese bread with fresh custard. The best! Only wish there were more options on the menu. Service was great! Patient staff at the counter answered all of our questions. Ambiance is casual cafe. Not quiet but not too loud.

Everything is gluten-free!!!! Walking in the ambience is gorgeous. Lots of seating. The music isn't too loud and you walk up when you are ready to order. There is no pressure to be ready by a certain timeframe if you need that extra moment to look over the menu. I also love that there is a pastry case towards the front and you have the ability to buy bread to take home which I ended up doing. it has been a long time since I have had a custard filled donut if you will and this did not disappoint having champagne poetry next-door always made me a little jealous because nothing over there is gluten-free however it was such a smart decision to place this restaurant where it is because I never feel left out and having this many options to turn to while my friends get their sweet treat.
Hello amazing! I haven't had a gluten free cinnamon roll this good since Maui. And these are BETTER. My gluten eating husband said it is equally delicious for him.
I love this place! I was only driving through Oregon on a road trip and stopped by Kirari West for some lunch. The food was delicious (all gluten-free!!!) and my family enjoyed their lattes. I would love for there to be a Kirari West where I live in BC!

Delicious baked goods. I had a custard bun today and it was sweet but well balanced. Bread was super soft and lovely to bite into. It's entirely gluten free and they have entree items that I'll have to try next time I'm around. Staff are friendly, location is excellent, and indoor decor is very warm and welcoming. read more
Another stellar gluten free restaurant in Portland! Kirari West is a place that oozes with quality. I was impressed with the location and how cute the restaurant is. They definitely take pride in the establishment - and it the food is just as good as well. This gluten free menu is full of delicious items. My favorite of them all was the cinnamon roll. When it's hot and fresh this thing can't be beat. It's pillowy soft and perfectly sweet. Eating it is a glorious experience that I think just about everyone would enjoy. You can hardly tell it is a gluten free item. This is quite possibly the best gluten free cinnamon roll I've ever had. On the savory side of things, I also enjoyed a turkey and avocado sandwich along with a bowl of minestrone soup. I'd say the sandwich gets about 80% there in terms of comparing with a standard sandwich. Gluten free bread typically has less chew than glutinous bread, but I was still impressed with how close it gets. The soup was a touch too salty for me, but a soup and sandwich combo is never bad. I also ordered a smoothie which I highly enjoyed. It was fun having the little bits of texture in it to give a nice mouthfeel to the drink. It was nice and cold and perfect for the hot summer day we visited on. read more
I ordered the jackfruit panini. It was delicious with the kale salad on the side. I will definitely visit again and thought it was the perfect location to work and snag a meal. I want to try the smoothies or açaí bowls in the future. It was very clean! read more

After passing by this place last week, I could not stop thinking about it because all of the food looked so good. I had to stop by today after yoga and it did not disappoint. This place is so good. Everything was cooked to perfection and I love that everything is gluten-free so I can enjoy whatever I want off the menu. The pastries I got did not seem gluten-free whatsoever. The service was great. Everybody was very friendly and the seating was nice. Also, you don't have to bus your own table which I really like. If you get one thing, I would say get the jackfruit bowl with tahini and quinoa. It was so good!! Also, the blueberry scone blew me away seriously. I loved the open air bakery counter so we can really see what goes into making the pastry! read more

Was looking for gluten free pastries for my partner and came across Kirari West on NW 23rd. The cafe is fully gluten free and they have very clear signage in regard to other major allergens. I got the custard bun and as someone who can have gluten, I couldn't believe it was gluten free. My partner is always excited about a gluten free cinnamon roll and said it was good as well! Overall the cafe is super cute, the employee was really helpful and patient, and I hope to be back one day to try their actual food! read more

Gluten free yet delicious! Everything was made from whole ingredients and fresh. I would come here again as a solid go-to healthy lunch option with friends. Staff were very friendly too :) The avocado toast was really fresh, creamy, and filling, balancing perfectly with the refreshing and light kale salad. I normally get the turkey avocado panini when I stop by for a quick lunch (it never misses), but the avocado toast might be my sit-down go-to now. If you like desserts that are not too sweet, I recommend the brioche ricotta toast. The sweet brioche toast gets balanced out nicely by the unsweetened mellow ricotta cream. The fresh berries and jam add just the right bit of tang and refresh. For drinks, my fav was the Rise&Shine (orange drink). I enjoyed that all their drinks are made from whole fruits and fresh. I was drawn to the Blueberry mist because of how pretty it is, but it's not sweet at all so it wasn't my vibe. If you are in an unsweetened berry kinda mood, you'd probably like it. read more

You guys! If you are gluten and dairy free or just one of those, this is the spot. A place that actually has good bread. You can also purchase bread to go. Definitely get the cinnamon roll. The avocado toast and turkey panini is amazing. They have a bit of an open kitchen and you can see them hard at work. Something so special about a niche GF restaurant bakery, that you can watch in action. read more

Today was my first time stopping in, and I'm so glad I did. The gluten free cinnamon brioche was DELICIOUS and super nostalgic. I recommend heating it up before consuming. The cashier was knowledgeable, and the price was reasonable. The ambiance is laid back- you order at the counter. I'm excited to go back and try more menu items! read more

Ok sorry but had to change my review after I saw the ingredients of bread and I assume the same thing is for the pastries if not worse. Ugh I wish they used better ingredients and at least some were organic? Vegetable oils? So disappointing! Used to go there multiple times a week but now seems like the ingredients are very unhealthy. In my opinion gluten free should also mean anti inflammatory and healthy. Please do better! read more
For gluten free pastry, the gluten free bun was amazing and the best I've tried! The blueberry muffins are good but on a drier side (I've tried it multiple times). The almond croissant was too moist for me and had weird texture for the almond croissant... I'd love to come there more often but the options are always the same - I've been there 10 times and each time there were the same 5 types of pastries. Waiting for more!! read more

I stopped here with my gluten free friend for lunch today and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm not GF but I could barely tell that my bread was gluten free. I got the brioche French toast with the berry smoothie and they were both SO GOOD. The little bit of honey in the smoothie really made it so much better and the ricotta on the French toast was to die for. My friend got the overnight French toast and can't stop raving about how delicious it was. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The people working here are all so friendly and the vibes are absolutely immaculate. This place is so cozy and chill and I can absolutely see myself spending a day working from this little cafe. If you are on the fence, go! It is so worth it! read more

5 stars on food! I've eaten overnight French toast, avocado toast (which usually isn't my thing), scones and the almond brioche. All super yummy 3 stars for the drinks which I will probably skip in future. My iced chai was watered down. My daughter strawberry matcha had matcha at the bottom and you couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Different staff take care of different parts of the food/bev so you left food will come out at different times. Which is fine if you get your drinks first rather than 15 minutes into eating. This açaí bowl was super tasty and really refreshing. The fruit was all perfectly ripe the bananas, strawberries, and blueberries were sweet and fresh. The granola added a nice crunch, and the shredded coconut made it even better. Everything was balanced and delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a healthy, flavorful treat. Grace is so nice ands is always working hard to make sure everything looks and tastes amazing big shout out to her. The inside had a chill calm feel to it and I love how big and open the windows are. read more

what an adorable place, found them on tiktok and was not disappointed!!! absolutely lovely staff, met Yuko (i hope i spelled and said it right) my mom was having a blast getting to know the store and what it's about, Yuko knew so much and was such a vibe. we ordered 1 of every pastry AND AHHH IT WAS AMAZING!! lovely people, lovely vibes, lovely area. you can also buy loafs of AMAZING bread here!!! please go visit & try for yourself!! read more

This a great food place for those who enjoys a good gluten-free brunch. There variety of food options including bakery foods. You can see the chef kneed the bread and make this from scratch. Very cute cafe and food location in downtown Portland. read more

I visit Portland 1-2x/year. My last time in town was right when Kirari opened, and I loved the food! But I thought it was kind of weird that they didn't have coffee. I still don't see it on the menu or in any reviews--do they have coffee now?
