Just moved from California to Dallas in need of a groomer for my small little Yorkie. The Sherry Lane location was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I would highly recommend this location they were amazing my dog was very comfortable and absolutely loved all the ladies in the salon. Went above and beyond for their service and he will forever be a client. Saint says thank you!

    Injuries from grooming

With many recommendations, I took my dog for a groom on Saturday, May 9th to the Sherry Lane location with expectations of a quality groom. I requested a light scissor cut trim to clean up the ends of the hair. When I picked up my dog the cut was far more extreme than what was requested however, most disturbing she bleeding and injured with multiple cuts on her under belly and legs. I have sent 3 emails and called the salon requesting a manager to call me and explain to me why my dog was injured while in their care and have not received a response. Therefore, I am making a public awareness announcement to prevent future tragedies to anyone else's beloved animal companion.

This is the best groomer I have ever used for my dog. I have a 13 year old Shih Tzu and as you can imagine, he has had many haircuts. I have never been completely satisfied after a grooming until today! His face was perfectly trimmed & it only got better when I saw the rest of his body. I decided to be a little adventurous and had his ears & tail dyed blue. I was a little nervous about how it would turn out but the very kind owner reassured me that I would be completely happy with the results. She was absolutely correct! He looks amazing! Everyone there is so helpful & make you feel extremely comfortable in trusting your baby to them. The boutique is very clean with great toys, clothes & other accessories you can purchase. There was no way I was leaving without securing my next appointment! Highly recommend KP Grooming!

    Lola's bandaged wound

We have been taking our little dog, Lola, to Kibble Pet Grooming for the past six months. Alexis normally grooms Lola and she always does a fantastic job! We had an appointment booked with Alexis last Friday and received a call the night before saying that Alexis had a family emergency and our appointment had to be canceled. No problem. We booked an appointment for today instead with the other groomer at Kibble Pet Grooming. We dropped Lola off at noon today and came back to pick her up at three. We were told that we would need to wait a little longer for Lola. Again, no problem. A few minutes later, Lola comes out and Marissa let us know at this point in time that there was a tiny issue with our dog due to her matted hair and she proceeded to show us a bleeding scar on Lola's left leg. I told Marissa, this is a deep cut! To which Marissa said 'like I said, your dog was really matted. The groomer cut her hair and then when we took her out of the bath, she noticed it.' Why was I not called right away when this happened?! Lola could have had an infection with the open wound. We brought our dog here to get her hair cut, and we left with a bloody gash on her leg. My husband and I rushed her to the vet to take a look at it. We were told it was a deep cut and that we could choose to sedate Lola and have her wound stitched up or we could have a bandage put on the wound with antibiotic and a cone put on her neck so she won't lick the wound. We chose the latter. Our vet handed us the receipt and strongly urged us to go back to Kibble to get a refund for the vet bill ($86). My husband called Kibble and Marissa said that she would call her manager and get back to us regarding the situation. We drove to Kibble shortly after to see if we could come up with a solution. I talked to Marissa and showed her the receipt and demanded that we be refunded for what happened to Lola. Marissa kept insisting that our dog had matted hair..as if to say that it was our fault for her getting cut. Regardless of whether she was matted or not, no dog deserves to leave with a bloody deep wound! And pet owners deserve to be kept in the loop and receive a call at the very moment a wound occurs. We never even received an apology for what happened to Lola. It was shrugged off as though it was nothing. Marissa told us that her manager would reach out to us by the end of today. However, we NEVER received a call. What kind of general manager ignores the fact that a small dog was cut at his business and shows no sense of urgency in the matter. We paid $113 for a groom and walked out with an injured pup and an $86 bill from our vet. Our dog now needs to wear a cone on her head for the next week, and we have to put antibiotic on her wound four times a day. We deserve to be compensated for your wrongdoing. We never even received an apology. Is this what you call customer service? You were negligent with our dog and should be held liable. Our dogs injury was severe enough that we had to rush her to the vet. You should be held responsible for the suffering our dog went through and cover the cost of our vet bill. We have been loyal customers for six months and have never had a problem until now. We are frankly appalled at the lack of customer service and any sort of compassion towards our situation. Marissa insisted she had no authority to refund us and yet, she wouldn't give us the name or telephone number to the manager who would have the authority to do so. We have loved Kibble Pet Grooming and Lola has always been excited every time she sees Alexis, but today, we got a different groomer who hurt our baby and we are very upset at how our situation was handled. We hope our situation can be resolved. Update: Samantha, the owner of KP Grooming, just gave us a call this morning and apologized for our experience yesterday. She asked how Lola was and said that she would cover our vet bill and take care of our next groom at KP Grooming as well. Excellent customer service! Thank you Samantha for fixing this situation for us. We will continue bringing Lola here, once Alexis comes back!

Great bath and we were able to schedule online for same-day service. Our dog returned more calm and much more clean!

I took my 5 month old yorkie to this groomer last week. The experience was good at the beginning, but when I picked her up she had a "small" nick according to the girl in the front desk, and she apparently hadn't cried at all. I check my puppy and she has this deep cut that looks like it was done with the scissors. I get that a puppy can move a lot during their first couple of grooms, but that's why you take them to a professional place to avoid getting the puppy hurt. The girl offered a 10% discount, but currently my puppy has pain and I had to put medication on the nick since it looks like it was getting infected.

    After haircut

I took my 5 month old goldendoodle this morning for the first time. They did a wonderful job. The owners were so friendly and my puppy was really happy when I picked him up. I wasn't quite sure how I wanted my puppy's hair to be cut, other than I knew I wanted it to be short. When I picked him up, his hair was short but I wanted it to be even shorter. They trimmed his hair again to my satisfaction. They didn't make a big deal of it or make an excuse. They just made it happen and they did it so happily!!! The groomer is awesome! She is so nice and she saved all of our preferences. Next time we go, all we have to do is ask for the same cut! This makes life so much easier. The boutique itself is really clean and they have a giant glass window so you can watch as they shower/trim your pup. It's by appointment only, so you don't have to worry about your pup being stuck there all day. They send text and email reminders which I loved!!! They also have a lot of great products with all ingredients listed on the back. They are all very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions and they happily answered all of them! When we got home, I inspected my puppy for scratches or bruises and found NOTHING. I watched as they bathed him and they were so patient and gentle. They even brushed his teeth. I was so impressed as to how thorough they brushed his teeth (I watched that part too!) All in all, we will definitely be going back. We are so happy to have found a great groomer and grooming boutique. Thanks a bunch, Carolyn & Teddy

I went to get my Aussie groomed and I'm so thankful they were able to take me in last minute. The staff was very kind and polite. I didn't feel any concern or worry for my little man at all! They did a good job on the cut and my boy seemed so happy!!!

It has taken me several months to digest the horror that I saw and to decide how to review. There was a worker sitting in the lobby with a blonde long hair miniature dachshund pinned to the ground by her collar with the worker's foot the whole time I was there. This is humane "training" for a breed susceptible to esophageal collapse and IVDD? Disgusting. You can see in a large window to the right of the lobby with all of the small dogs. Around 20+ dogs in a small concrete room all agitated and barking at once. Many appeared in true distress. One small cot for an elderly dog. A girl went in to scoop all of the poop and did not interact with any dogs. I asked why no interaction and the response was "if you show one small dog attention they will all want attention." Why are the dogs having to walk through the feces and urine and not getting potty breaks? Heartbreaking. THIS IS NOT NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE!!! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH, TAKE FULL TOURS, ETC. THERE ARE TOO MANY EXCELLENT DAYCARE/BOARDING FACILITIES IN DALLAS. I WENT ON TO TOUR MANY OTHERS AND THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST OF ALL OF THEM. TRULY HORRIFYING; OWNER MICHAEL SULLIVAN AND MANAGER LAURY MCCONNELL SHOULD ACTUALLY BE REPORTED TO THE SPCA. YOUR DOG DESERVES A HUMANE FACILITY!

I called around and no one could do it this week until I called Bark Avenue. Jay was really nice and said he would work around my schedule. He was to arrive at 10a to start the salon services. He was running late but sent me a text to let me know and arrived at 10:30a. He and his mother (his partner was ill) took care of the 3 dogs and they were not nervous or skeptical. That says a lot because these 3 have been through so much and their confidence level is way below the radar. He cleaned everything up, vacuumed and left the place clean. I was able to use the Yelp deal so it only cost me $120 for the 3 dogs, and that included de-shedding for 2 of them (where others wanted to charge up to an additional $25). I would definitely have Jay back to take care of my dog and any other fosters I may have. Thanks, Jay and Mom!

He asked me to text him confirming the appointment time and my address, which I did. Unfortunately today I called them at 9am after never receiving a response to my text. They didn't answer, but called me back at 11 after me texting them asking them to please confirm my appointment since I work full time and would need to come home. He told me that he didn't have any record of my appointment, and even when I sent him the screen shot of me confirming the appointment he told me he never received it and that he was sorry. Long story short- they didn't even offer me another appointment or some way to apologize/rectify for the error (discounted groom? Come by on their day off?) and even though they were polite on the phone I wouldn't recommend such a disorganized professional service to any friends. I mentioned that their Yelp reviews seem to reflect lots of missed appointments and he said it was just the two of them so unfortunately that's why. I really think Bark Avenue should look into hiring an assistant for scheduling, or an online platform for booking appointments. You are losing a lot of dog-loving, paying customers by losing appointments and not offering any kind of consolation for the mistake on your end.

Their prices are a bit lower than others and I LOVE that they offer Dremel nail service, which is perfect for dogs with long quicks. That confirmed my decision to try this place. It has been a challenge finding anyone who can trim one of my pug's long quicks without hurting him, so I was excited. I dropped the pugs off at 1pm and they were ready around 4:45pm on a Friday (they recently changed grooming services to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). The pugs were happy upon pickup and continued throughout the evening as well as smelled pleasant. Their nails looked amazing, and no bleeding occurred. The groomer even showed me her Dremel tool and the safety feature on it to protect dogs' nails. It is always a concerning risk to try a new groomer for various reasons, and I'm so glad I chose Pierre's. I also like that I only needed to show updated rabies vaccinations and not additional shots like many places require simply for grooming. The owner Jobbi managed the phones from the first time I called about pricing and services to scheduling to picking up the pugs. He is extremely friendly and conversational; I never felt rushed. Pierre's is in a cute little house right on Lovers Lane with easy access. I highly recommend them for grooming!
