It's hard to find a pure traditional deli outside of New York City, But leave it to Neil Parish and his experienced, hard-working crew of countermen. Food is excellent, portion sizes are enormous like they should be, and the employees are extremely helpful, friendly and funny. All-day breakfast is just as good as dinner whether youre in the mood for challah French toast, a nova platter or a mounting hot corned beef special. I went here after a so so salon experience for some calorie therapy and I was blown away by how much like a real NYC deli this place was, but alot nicer, lol....the pastrami was some of the best I have ever had and the pickles are to die for. Not a fan. It's was way over priced for the sandwich size and the sides come in a shot glass of a plastic cup. The pickle bar was cool for the dine in customer but the corn beef on rye I got was very dry and the bread seemed old and brittle. Maybe it was an off day but I won't waste my money there again. Staff is great, food is phenomenal. Pretty pricey, but definitely worth it. The Brisket Fries are out of this world.

Food was great most of the time! But last couple of times its fallen off. The platter I received had 4 dried out pieces of nova. ) the heavyset guy with the beard was the reason. OMG !!!!! if I could get away with giving no stars I would...absolute worst sandwich I have ever had...the prices were crazy and my son and I were entertained watching the flys in the pastry case while we waited forever for the sandwich...I got one reuben - corned beef - sandwich cost 17.50 plus tax...paid 2 dollars more for burnt fries...this place is across from Shoprite so we see it all the time...thought we would give it a try...went in and found the prices way out of our league so I only ordered one sandwich which we figured on splitting...well I gave my half to my dog after taking several photos for my blog and this review here...the employees were all nice - except for the big guy whom I found to be VERY RUDE...the meat on my sandwich was all fat (and NO - before you say it - all corned beef is not fat and a decent resturant would trim whatever fat was there) - there was something black inside (could have been a cooked fly) and the saurekraut was burnt - how does one burn saurekraut? maybe the two guys in the back were just having a bad day but we will never return... read more

Had the most unpleasant experience at The Kibbitz Room in Cherry Hill tonight. It was 10 mins til closing, we were finished with dinner and waiting for my mother to return from the rest room so that we could leave. The staff had started cleaning up for the night, when a worker emerged from the back, walked thru the dining area and said "OK bye-bye, time to go now. We want to go home." It was so rude, a co-worker of his shot him a looked and told him to "shush" and then went over and told the manager. On our way out, I told the Manager what happened (even tho he already knew), expressed my displeasure and told him that I had never been treated so rudely and made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant. He apologized and said that he would talk to the offending worker. Don't think I'll ever go back there. read more

Overall the food was good. Had a pastrami sandwich on rye. Meat was a little fatty but that is really what pastrami is. Their mustard is fantastic. The pickle bar may be my favorite thing. Last Saturday night I had a hunkering for some Jewish cuisine. I've never been to the Kibitz room and now I never will. It was 7pm and I called over To place my order. The man told me to hold and when I looked at my cell,it was 5:30 and still no one picked up. I called back and the same man picked up. " I'd like to place an order for pickup please " WHATDAYAWANT ? " can I get an order of potato pancakes as an app" WHATELSE? Like I was bothering him. I said, "Nevermind " and I hung up. I wound up placing my $40 order with Shorthills down the street. They were very friendly and when I picked up my order, the place was packed. I drove over to the Kibitz to show them that they lost a $40 order, but when I pulled in, there were only 2 tables eating. Yes, I love the chocolate layered cake at The Kibitz room. Unfortunately I hate the obnoxious loud attitude from the employees. It's so unnecessary and consistently RUDE! I try to be hopeful that the next time I enter the place I will have a better experience but no, the same rude and mean service. I actually wanted to order a sandwich and potato salad but after I ordered the slice of cake, I just wanted to run outta there, literally RUN! I think this will be my last time entering this place. Not worth the aggravation and uncomfortable feeling from the personnel. It's a shame because they're always open. I stopped in the Kibitz Room to pick up some deli. As I was standing at the counter, my wife walked in after with my 11 year old son who has autism. He was acting up so she decided to take him out of the restaurant rather than disturb the other patrons. Not knowing she was my wife, the person working behind the counter (I believe the owners son) made a sarcastic comment about my son, my wife, and my son's behavior. I then explained that he was talking about my wife and son. I explained my son could not help his behavior because of his autism. I explained how my wife was trying to be considerate to his customers by taking him out of the restaurant. I shouldn't have to explain all of that, but I did. I received no apology, he couldn't care less or maybe he was just stunned that he was talking about my wife and son and I called him out? Tried the corn beef sandwich as well as the hot pastrami, and both were delicious. The quality of the food in general is definitely above average, but the best part of the deli is the generous amount of meat they put on every sandwich. I'm always a fan of this Jewish deli when craving a big bowl of matzah ball soup and a sandwich. Their matzah ball soup is delicious and is a huge portion for the price. I love the giant matzah ball and the soup is extremely comforting. We split a whole pastrami sandwich. Their portions are huge, so one sandwich and a bowl of soup is more than enough for 2! The sandwiches are a tad expensive, but they're so big that you don't feel like you're getting ripped off. The sandwiches come with your choice of side. We got potato pancakes.. it only comes with one as the side and they're just okay. They taste like they come from a box and I wasn't super impressed. Their pickle bar is amazing- any place that has a pickle bar is a-ok in my book! Food is served quick and service was fine, not sure what all the complaining in regards to rude service is about. I live 5 minutes from Kibitz Room, so I eat here once a month, on average. Being from NYC, I was excited to hear about a Jewish deli akin to Katz's Delicatessen. The prices are steep for the value. I usual order 2 wraps and that's a total of $30. For 2 wholes with a side. However, this visit will be my last. I ordered on a Friday evening around 8ish, which was cutting close to quitting time. I called the order in - 2 whole chicken wraps with salads as sides. I pick up my order (without looking into the bag) and when I arrive home, discover that I had been given cole slaw iINSTEAD of salad! We don't eat cole slaw! I understand that it's close to closing time. I understand that you may have run out of salad, however, I do not understand you not informing me and giving me a substitute that you find suitable. For $30. I am not happy! My 12 year old and I could've eaten at PF Changs for $30. Aside from my last visit, Kibitz Room is a suitable Jewish Deli for South Jersey. Nothing to make you flip out front about, but food that is flavorful and service that is mediocre. UPDATE: went back in to inform management of the mix-up, rectified it immediately! This is kind of confusing when you walk in...there are tables indicating table service...a deli counter indicating walk up and order..no menus to be found and the wall menu only has take out items...Do I sit, order at the counter?..Only after asking the waitress did she take my order and tell me to grab a soda. Another confusing moment is the pickle bar. Is it like Harold's Deli and you just walk up? I don't see it on the menu that I finally found after I ordered.. so again..ask the waitress that aced like she was put out by me being there...Yes, the pickle bar is complimentary. It is really great and worth stopping for. Food is a 5 star..loved the hot corned beef (warm) and well worth it. The only annoying thing was when the waitress yelled across the deli for the guys behind the counter to pick up the phone and talk to the Gentile. I was not happy that I had to order my lunch at the deli counter and then find a place to sit down and help myself to a beverage. I ordered a pastrami on rye with a cup of soup. The soup was just okay, the pastrami was very dry the tips were hard and and the rye bread was bland, it had no flavor and didn't even taste like rye bread. I've been here before and enjoyed the food. This trip was not so lucky. One way to ensure you don't get repeat business is to blame the customer for your mistake. I placed a phone order, picked up the order and when I got back to the office found it was the wrong items. Called and said I didn't get what I ordered and said what I ordered to which the guy says I took your order and that's not what you ordered. I wrote down what you ordered. I expected an apology and what can we do to make this right. Not blame for your mistake. I guess gone are the days of correcting a mistake.
