Honestly, this place was getting 5 stars before I posted the reviews, rest assured that the food actually good so I do think the five stars is warranted. The guy that took our order was great though. Best personality and set the tone for the meal with the best energy as soon as we walked through the door. He recommended the mango lemonade to start (YUM- so glad I listened) and it was super refreshing. I ordered the ube michi pancakes and he recommended the pork fried rice with eggs for my husband as it was one of the more popular dishes. The pork fried rice was really good. The portion was just big enough and I'm not surprised at all that it's a top dish. I think the ube mochi pancakes were the star though. The text was good and the ube flavor really comes out, so much that I didn't want to use any coconut syrup for fear of drowning it out. I ate one without syrup and one with and the coconut syrup really compliments the pancake. Both flavor come out nicely.

Solid 4 stars for a brunch spot! Slightly different method of ordering here -- you walk in, place your order at the counter, they assign you a table based on the # of people you have in your party, and they bring the food to your table. Staff service is pretty light in that they're not bothering you too much, but they're around when you need them. Our fave dish by far was the French toast with macadamia nuts and bananas! Super soft bread, thick slices, and you don't need any syrup at all. We also tried the Loco Moco but it was just ok. I've had better at other places. My boys liked this place that we tried the Kīhei location as well but ordered take out. I'd come back again for sure!

Really solid breakfast spot. We loved everything except the pork fried rice which was pretty mid. I especially liked the loco moco. I love the extra gravy and the patty being more than enough to have extra for the egg to rice ratio. Overall 4.3/5 definitely would come back!

Long lines , very good reviews, time to check it out. It was early Thursday morning and the line stopped just after door, but line moved quickly. Just like the Yelp reviews. Two cashiers taking orders. There is also dedicated to-go order kiosk. Nice! Took few minutes to take our orde and we got a basket with utensils and napkins. Our drinks came out almost simultaneously. We found the table nearby and our food started to come out. Some foods comes out faster. Value: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Cleaness: another 5 My Ube drink was delicious, so was the pancakes. Fried rice was ok. Cinnamon rolls are in the hotel room still, yogurt parfait was pre-made and granola was chewy instead of crunchy. Over all, 5 stars and repeat business is necessary.

This is a must-try when you're in Maui! Expect a crowd, but don't let the line discourage you--they have the process down. You order at the counter, find a table, and they'll bring your food out when it's ready. We always have a great meal here! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The Loco Moco was rich and comforting, with a perfectly seasoned beef patty, fluffy rice, and delicious brown gravy. The chilaquiles were packed with flavor and topped with perfectly cooked eggs and fresh green onions for a nice crunch. I do have to mention that they're a little on the spicy side, but absolutely worth it! The cinnamon roll was the perfect way to end the meal--soft, warm, and topped with just the right amount of sweet icing. The service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. If you're looking for an amazing breakfast or brunch in Maui, this place is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back every time we're in town!

Service was good - our order was taken very quickly and accurately at the counter. It was busy inside - 8am on Sunday had plenty of both visitors and locals. It's a good, family friendly restaurant. Food was good as well. We ordered the French toast and the loco moco. While eating the loco moco, I bit on something quite hard - I found that there was a small, black pebble in my food. How did that get in there? Thankfully my teeth were okay. Because of that, I give this place 3 stars. I'd come back, though I will be chewing very, very carefully.

Came @ 8 am for breakfast on a Thursday and surprised it was not as crowded as I remembered. That was also a few years ago. Casual dining, order/pay first and find your own seating. Ordered the loco moco. Good flavoring, but the beef patty was a bit tough & dry. Had it not been for the gravy saving it.... The So Ono macadamia nut coconut cream ice coffee is a nice sweet drink, if that's what you like. But if you like a coffee drink that actually tastes like coffee and want something stronger, skip this drink and just order plain coffee. Also ordered the meat lover breakfast. It's decent. Something you would find at any other breakfast joint. Service was quick and staff are friendly.

Food quick and delicious! Wait time was very minimal and highly recommended for a breakfast! Was an excellent choice as the pictures show the food! A little noisy because place is packed but enjoyable with background music from 60s and 70s.. mahalo

So this confused me just a bit. Kihei Caffe in Lahaina... I could have been eating here everyday but never tried. Now that I have I'm soo mad I'm no longer in Lahaina. I got the chicken fried steak. My how this was comfort food at its finest. The sausage gravy was perfect, the biscuit was perfect and the main event was perfect. If you decide to go here. Get that.

Located in the plaza, this spot was busy for Sunday brunch, and there was a small line when we arrived. Thankfully, it moved quickly, and our food was served shortly after we ordered. Everything we tried was delicious, but our favorites were definitely the French toast and the pork fried rice. We also ordered the loco moco with kalua pork. It was good, but the kalua pork wasn't really our preference. Overall, we had a great experience with delicious food, efficient service, and would definitely come back.

We enjoyed this place so much we went two days in a row because it was tasty and convenient to where we were staying. The first day was lovely - good service, food was great. The Ube pancakes were a huge hit with my family. The second day was not so great. We ordered our breakfast to-go. The first disappointing thing we noticed was the $4 up charge to take our food to-go. Fine, we are on vacation. What's $4 bucks? The most disappointing and second thing was when we got home to enjoy our meals, two bites in, there was a long strand of back hair entangled in my chorizo scramble. Not just laying on top but tangled within the entire thing. I threw up in my mouth a little and tossed my entire dish. We won't be back unfortunately.

Very good!!!!! So while visiting Lahina I'm on my search 4 the best loco moco. My usual spots burnt down. Came here based on reviews. Ordered 2 regular loco mocos with sunny side eggs. It was absolutely delicious!! Hearty portions I split with my man . Gravy was rich and delicious! Full of flavor! We all loved our food! Order at the counter then sit down. Bathroom clean. Great spot 4 breakfast/ brunch !!

How long is the wait on a Saturday morning?

Don’t be discouraged if you get there and the line “looks long”. It moves vert quickly and the food is definitely with the short wait.

Is this location still in existence or did the fires get them? Just wondering on the well being of the community. I hope everyone is ok

I saw on the local news here in the bay that this area was safe from the fires. The restaurant was featured on the news and they were asking people to come in and dine. There is usually a long line but 2 weeks after the terrible fire, the restaurant…

    Is a vaccine card needed?

No vaccine cards are needed in Maui

When does it start getting busy? Or is it busy with a wait from opening to closing?

It's pretty much busy from open to close! But the line does go by quickly!!

When do they switch over from breakfast to lunch?

they dont. lunch and breakfast are served from 6am to 2pm.

    What are operating hours?

    5AM - 5PM daily

Do they take to go orders?

    Yes

Is this location cash only or do they accept credit cards?

Kihei Caffe in Lahaina accepts credit cards.

Are they actually open until 7? Swung by yesterday and it was not open at 4pm.

    No, 6am-2pm

The person taking our order was very rude and not welcoming at all. After we had ordered all of our food, we were asked if we would like to leave a tip, which we did. We later found out that gratuity had already been added beforehand "for a big group," even though there were only six of us. Because we were unaware that gratuity had already been included, we ended up leaving two tips totaling $48. This was very frustrating, but we decided to move on and enjoy our meal. Unfortunately, it then took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, the order was incorrect. When we tried to explain to the staff that the food was wrong, they were not helpful and were initially unwilling to fix the issue. They brought the same incorrect food back, and we had to explain multiple times that the burger was not the one my sister had ordered. Eventually, they told us it was "only missing one ingredient." At that point, my sister was exhausted and anxious from having to explain the issue so many times, so she ultimately just ate the incorrect food. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially because we were on vacation and had been looking forward to visiting. The poor customer service, unexpected gratuity, long wait, and incorrect food made the experience even more frustrating

I went all in and went with the 3x3 which in hindsight was way more than I needed. The meat is rich which means a single or 2x2 is all you need. The crisp on the smash was perfection and the bun was pillowy soft. The sauce complimented everything well. My only regret was not asking if they had Serrano peppers before I ordered bc that would've added a whole other level to an already amazing burger. $30 well spent. If you just look at the menu, you might have sticker shock, but they are using A5 meat for the burgers which is why its higher priced. Compare it to most food in the area, everything is overpriced bc it's touristy, at least at Swagyu you get a quality tasting meal. Worth every dime in my opinion. They have locations in San Diego as well, and all I could think of is how much money I'd spend if they had a spot up in the Bay. Beans were well cooked and flavored. So was the rice. The bananas/ plantains added good sweet flavor to the whole meal. The coconut cheese was interesting. Never had that before but it did taste like cheese and added flavor. The jackfruit arepa sandwich that we had, could have had the jackfruit, cheese, plantains mixed together better. The jackfruit bowl was better as it was easier to mix everything and get all the flavors together. Pretty much same as the sandwich but a little more and easier to mix (so would recommend the bowl over the sandwich). The sandwich seemed to be made of rice. We also had a mango and a coconut slushie drink. The mango tasted like the mango concentrate from Costco (sugary) and the coconut was a little more original/ different. We liked both though. Limited indoor seating. Outdoor seating available. Steady flow of patrons. The only thing I didn't like was that the price was a bit high though in my opinion but I guess everything in Maui is that high priced. Update: went back and got a coconut slushie drink again :) and tried the plant based mushroom and cheese (coconut cheese) and fish empanada. They were delicious with the mushroom being our favorite. The chipotle sauces and cilantro onion sauces were delicious as well! The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade so you cannot seperate out the cheese from the mushroom but it does not have a strong flavor). I also liked the coconut slushie by itself vs mixed with mango. Note: The empanadas come in 2: when you eat in house, a red Chipotle sauce and white cilantro onion sauce are given with it (as well as with the arepas); there is another sauce for vegans (think it's a cilantro/ oil/ spice sauce). We liked the white sauce better than the vegan sauce. The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade). If you order to go, you are only given once sauce. If you want more than one, you need to just add it on before you leave with the big dispensers. Otherwise, you only get one sauce (not sure why you can't just add white and red sauce in the same to go container but we weren't given the option). And, to make things worse, the lady said curtly she would charge me next time for 2 sauces "due to the plastic". well, thank you for not charging me but the statement was unnecessary IMHO. Note for improvement (and for this, I was tempted to drop the star rating): we came here multiple times and gave your business a lot of our dollars (about 135.00), yet the above statement, I don't think was necessary if you are trying to provide good customer service. You should gladly offer extra of the sauce or even, as I suggested above, allow customers to add the sauce themselves if they want more than 1 sauce and you don't want us to "use up your plastic containers". Kind of left a bad taste in our mouths.

Seated near the window at sunset was nice, we were given water right away and drink orders were taken. Menu didn't have any allergen info on it, get with the decade please and label stuff, so I had to ask the server what was gluten free. She quickly went over the appetizers, salads and sandwiches but didn't cover any of the entrees so I had to ask when she got back and she checked with the kitchen for me - I wanted fish, but was a little tired of fish tacos :) They were able to make the butter fish gluten free for me by leaving off the sauce and the microgreens (shrug why these were left off and the server even laughed when I asked) Okay -the butterfish was flippin amazing - like the BEST meal I had on the island - I wish it had been my first dinner there because I would have had it every single night for a week it was that good!! One kid ordered a burger, medium cook - came rare on half, she picked that part off and ate the rest Other kid had a veggie burger with garlic fries except they missed the garlic and she just got fries Go for the view and butterfish
