We didn't really plan on going to Duke's, but it was close by. Things started off great with live music, and Aloha Hour definitely helped with pricing on a few items. The outdoor seating has an amazing view--just be ready to deal with the birds. Unfortunately, our server wasn't very friendly or attentive, which took away from the experience. The food itself was just okay. The steak tacos were tasty but extremely small for an Aloha Hour portion and price. The Kalua pork wraps were also fine, but again, way too small for what they cost. The burger was the best of the savory items, with a nice char on the outside. The Mai Tai was just okay, not strong and not particularly memorable. The highlight of the meal was the Kimo's Original Hula Pie. It's a huge slice, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious with the chocolate and mac nut ice cream. We've been at this Dukes more than any other restaurant in the state, and it has never disappointed. Last night was no exception! They were super busy, but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server had a couple of big parties, but still came by and got our order in a timely fashion and was friendly. We got the crab and mac nut wantons- which were AMAZING! I got the baked fish with a basil sauce, which happened to be Monchong. Amazing! My wife got the 12oz prime rib medium rare, it was perfect! We went here on Sunday August 16, 2026 which is the day after Storm Lala decided to blow on thru and Dukes was the one restaurant open! Victor was our server and he was absolutely wonderful and helpful when it came to the food and drink menu and gave some great recommendations. My dad got the seafood risotto, my mom got the two lobster tails and I got the steamed fish and shrimp in banana leaf. I think the steamed fish and shrimp with the mushrooms and bok choy which was soooo flavorful and yummy! Everything was honestly delicious and I would absolutely come back. Sorry guys...I was not impressed! Food was mediocre and prime rib was bland. Filet was overcooked and just did not meet my expectations. Our server Michael was horrible, and out of it. Didn't take our order until 20 minutes later and then realized he had forgotten about us. Asked how are food was, but he didn't really care. He walked away mid sentence as I was speaking to answer the question he had asked. So rude. And here's the worst part, when he brought our bill, he hovered over our shoulder while we were entering in the tip. Felt so uncomfortable and awkward. Please tell your servers do not do this! We came here on 4th of July. Had a reservation for 13 people. We were seated promptly and our server Dane (I think) was so great and attentive. Mai Tais were just ok, a little too sweet for my liking. We had calamari for appetizer, which was just ok. The calamari is small strip style and seemed a little over cooked. Mains were excellent though. I have the fish tacos and they were great with so much flavor. Everyone in our party either had the fish tacos or the risotto and everyone loved it. This is my family's second trip to Duke's and it has remained consistent. I wish I could give it a 3.5 stars and here's why. When we stay in the area, we always almost come here for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This place is one of our go to for places to eat over the years. Located by the beach and great view at sunset. Breakfast times are not too bad, unless it's the weekend. Lunch is a little busier, but you can still get in with maybe a little wait time. Dinner, is a different story, you must make a reservation. They will be booked up. Food is pretty good here. It's decent, depending on what you get. Service is good. The staff are friendly. Our last night in Maui was the perfect way to celebrate our 45th Anniversary at Duke's! We had a party of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids), and even though the restaurant was packed, Charles and the entire staff were fantastic--especially with the kids. The food took a little longer to arrive, which was completely understandable, and it was absolutely worth the wait! We started with the calamari appetizer--excellent. The guys ordered the Ahi tuna and couldn't stop talking about it. I had the macadamia nut-crusted monchong, and it was hands down the best meal I had all week! Dukes is the perfect place to catch a sunset view while dining on delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed their drinks pictured you'll see two Lychee Martinis which were absolutely divine. I questioned the pineapple slice instead of lychee fruit but still delicious they drank like juice. Their Maitais were great and they foam is better in my opinion then other famous places. Service was good overall--friendly and attentive--but nothing especially memorable. We were staying at the Westin and used the guest discount card, which came with a free appetizer. We went with the calamari, and it was a good start to the meal. For our mains, I had the BBQ chicken salad and my wife ordered the fish tacos. Both dishes were tasty and fresh, exactly what you'd hope for at a casual beachside spot. There was a small blip with my salad, but the staff fixed it quickly and without any hassle, which we appreciated. All in all, a solid brunch with good food and a relaxed atmosphere--even on a rainy day. Not quite a standout experience, but definitely a place we'd return to the next time we're on Maui. read more

Dukes is nestled on the beach in the back of the Westin, overlooking the ocean...but it was stale, the music was blah, the atmosphere was non existent and the food was okay. This is disappointing to write but something has to change. This place used to be fantastic. The location and views, great. Thats still the same. But the quality of the food, food ticket times, and prices are embarrassingly bad for a place of this stature. Maybe they've just gotten complacent since they are in a resort and many of their guests are simply staying at the resort, but having been to all of the Dukes locations over the years, this was depressing. Food was not good at all. Chicken was very dry and portion size was insulting. The ribs were not tender at all and it was hard to even cut into them with a knife. Beer was not that cold. Even the live music was rough... Our server Rueben was a nice dude and I shared some of the feedback with him and he was gracious, he did the best he could. I'm writing this in hopes that when I come back in the future, they've stepped up their game. For these prices, and the Duke's name, that food is pathetic. read more

I have eaten here many times through the years. A review of my most recent experience. We were promptly sat at our reservation time, I booked many weeks in advance. This included a request for main dining room and a view of sunset which was obliged. The quality of the apps/salads was ok but the fish preparations were strong. The Ahi tuna was very spicy, almost oddly so but still good flavors. Portions are reasonable but note the price point is pretty high for the quality and experience. Hula pie is still a hit, a little smaller but just as good. Drinks were just ok, $19 old fashion cocktail was watered down. Misses, the assorted bread selection is gone, supposedly their supplier was lost during the Lahaina fire, need to bring that back though. The guest parking has become more limited at Honu Kai, just go ahead and valet (free plus tip). Overall, it was good experience and quality was solid but the price point is really getting silly, with two cocktails, two apps, 4 mains, one dessert we pushed $360 with tip for four people which is wild. read more

Amazing! OK, let's start with the food. My husband and I both ordered the barbecue ribs and chicken plate. It was the best meal we had the entire trip. We also had the hula pie which was so good! There was something wrong with my husband's meal and almost immediately Chloe, being the superstar she is, took it back and got him a new one immediately. Then the manager came out and also apologized. This is probably the best service we have had our entire trip and they were so apologetic for something that really wasn't that big of a deal. Before we got to our table, they had a card waiting for us because it's our anniversary and all of the staff members signed it. We will definitely be back. One of our first meals in Maui! We made a reservation for 4 on our first full day and we were seated right away. I would highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time as there were quite a few parties that were waiting. The restaurant is tucked behind a resort so we were able to find guest parking in front of the hotel free of charge. It is located by the water with an amazing beachside view. We ordered the POG and mango slush, both of which were fruity and refreshing. One of the best slushies I've had in awhile. We ordered the rib & chicken plate to share. Both the chicken and ribs were juicy and marinated well. Last but not least, the hula pie was SO DELICIOUS. We had received a complimentary coupon for the hula pie from one of the concierges at the resort, even though we did not stay there! the pie was ice cream with a shave ice texture, making it a perfect treat to end the meal. My family and I came here for dinner and it was great! We ordered the coconut shrimp which was ok, it was pretty basic and it only came with 4 and were a family of 4 so we only got 1 shrimp each. From our table was fine. We observed the staff really working hard! From quickly waiting on tables to clearing and resetting them and working together as a team. Our food was sooo good! We had the Sautéed Mac Nut & Herb-Crusted Fresh Fish (mahi-mahi) and the banana leaf steam fish (hapu'u hawaiian sea bass) Great flavor and butteriness of the white meat fish and the rice and vegetables went really well with the dishes. We also tried the prime rib that was well seasoned, tender, juicy, and had a good chew. Paird really well with the horseradish. The dessert were DELICIOUS! Definitely try out the creme brûlée which came with three different flavors and the lilikoi pie (kinda more like a tart/cheesecake) but it was VERY GOOD. We have been to Dukes in Waikiki and my bf really wanted to visit Dukes while in Maui. We did not have reservations so we did a walk in. They have open seating for the bar top and bar area. While we were waiting a table actually opened up in the bar so we decided to take it. The bar area offers the bar menu and the full dining menu. I love lava flows and was a bit sad not to see it on the menu. I asked the waitress if they had it and she said they do, but it's not on the menu. My bf ordered a mai tai which he really enjoyed! My lava flow was delicious! Sadly, service just wasn't there... we would've loved to get another drink each, but the waitress never came to check on us. For food we ordered the poke tacos and the pork nachos. The tacos were really good and I would highly recommend. The nachos were good, but over baked. We had pieces that tasted burnt and the cheese was crisp vs gooey. They were hard to eat as they were all stuck together and would easily break due to being overcooked. Overall the food was ok, the place had a great view and great vibe, drinks were good, but it is not worth going out of your way to come and it is overpriced. Stopped in on our first night of vacation! It was the perfect spot to kick off our vacation with yummy drinks and good food and a beautiful view of the ocean. We were seated on the patio overlooking the sunset. As the sun set, they turned on the tikis and live music began, and the ambiance was set! I ordered the furikake ahi steak. It was perfectly seared and plated on rice with a delicious spicy sauce. Our waiter Charles shared that it was his favorite and I was thankful I took his recommendation. We did not appreciate that. Again we split a maui sunflower caesar. My husband chose the Seafood risotto. It was very good. I had the Rib and Chicken plate. the ribs were very good, however, the chicken was a bit dry and chewy. The restaurant is right on the beach and I wish we had a better table to enjoy the atmosphere and the live music. We did go back because it was conveniently located at our hotel. We were visiting Maui for a family vacation and we decided to eat at this place as it showed it walking distance from our hotel. We didn't have a reservation which was fine because they were able to seat all 4 of us with no problem. They were also very accommodating when I asked if I could place the stroller for my baby somewhere that's not in the way. They were so sweet and nice!! This restaurant is literally right near the beach, you could walk there after you're done eating. Which is what we did and we were able to catch a beautiful sunset! The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh!! I was so impressed with the poke tacos and the food!! But my favorite had to be the dessert!
