TOURIST TRAP SCAM WARNING: 100% rip off and truly below fast food chain options. We just landed in Maui and read these great reviews (must be owner created) and then I dropped $115 on burgers and fries for two adults and two kids. And the horrible part about this is there's a Carl's Jr. just across the street! I will say the service was very good: nice kids unfortunately trapped in an awful owner's business... But after that, it's all downhill... Portions are small, food is 100% Cisco boxed and frozen garbage, and prices are sky high! Save your money... If you absolutely have to have a hamburger, any fast food chain will beat this garbage, or just going to a local supermarket and get something from their deli section... I was recommended this burger joint by a family member. Since we were in the area finishing up at a beach resort, we decided to swing by and order to go. Perhaps it's because we decided to show up 8 mins before closing, but the food and service were unforgettable in a concerning way. I had asked for my burger with no tomato (twice) and I still managed to receive the *wrong* burger and WITH tomato. We told the cashier our name twice and he still wrote it incorrectly completely. Also worth noting, halfway into my incorrect burger, I noticed a majority of it was pink. I got grossed out and stopped eating it immediately. The burger was not that warm to begin with. The umami fries were good but pretty messy, given the fact we had no napkins for a Togo order. Two burgers and umami fries came out to $50. Absolutely not worth it and not quality ingredients or service. At all. Additionally, the staff member handed our order to somebody else before handing it over to us. The bathroom lock was not operating correctly so you need a buddy system. The bathroom appeared clean, but reeked of urine. Aloha to fantastic, hearty hamburgers of all kinds. The restaurant is fairly roomy with lots of seating. The menu has a ton of options, but their hamburgers are the main event menu item. The burgers are cooked to order and made to perfection. They have burgers for every tastebud from mild to spicy. The sides were also very good with fries and onion rings. First of all, staff and service gets 5/5. They were amazing, friendly and attentive. The orders came out quickly and were warm and looked fresh. Food wise, id have to give a 3/5. It's hearty portions but the flavor really isn't there. I ordered a nacho burger and umami fries and it just tested relatively bland. My boyfriend got a volcano burger and he felt the same way. Our order total came to about $40 which I feel is pretty average pricing including sodas. I would not come back here for the burgers just because it really wasn't that great. read more

As delicious as the fresh poke can be, midway through our vacation, nothing sounded better than a set of crunchy French fries and stacked burger. Ordered the Hawaiian and the double son of a burger with a small drink. A bit pricy for what was supposed to be a quick dinner for two ($47) but I understand given the circumstances. The inside had tons of seating inside and was well air conditioned. Perhaps could have used more staffing given that from the time to order to the time we received our purser was ~25 minutes. Went in with a family of five and received a 20% large party charge. These hidden charges are a scam and are totally not necessary. When I waited in line to ask why I was screwed on the 20% bologna the manager hid from me. I understand tipping for service and party of 6 or more is fairly common but a walk up and order from the counter does not warrant mandatory 20%. I usually tip way more then 20% when service is good. They really are bigger burgers. You get a very good value for your money here. There are lots of nice toppings, but wish they had grilled onions for my hamburger. It was easy getting fries with no salt and they were nice and crispy. The server/cashier was helpful in guiding our decisions. The wait for the food wasn't too bad either. What it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up in how they prepare the food. It is good to see that they are back and open every day. read more

Really fun and casual local burger place. They had so many interesting options to choose from that had its own Hawaiian and Asian twist, and honestly none of the options can go wrong. I got the Nom Nom burger which was so good, along with the umami and garlic butter fries. I personally liked the umami fries more, it comes with spicy mayo. 10/10 food, food didn't take too long to come out, and it wasn't too crazy priced. My friend and I each paid $30 bucks for a mini-shake and a burger! My family of 6 came to Teddy's in Lahaina on the last day of our family vacation. We were charged a "large group fee" because there were 6 of us, my wife and I and our 4 kids. The large group fee was an extra 20%! So tack on another $20-$30. I was told by the staff it's because they only have two workers in the kitchen. What a joke. A family of 6 is not a large group. With the "large group fee," it cost us about $150 for a few burgers and 3 kids meals. The staff didn't bring it up (I only saw it when the staff rang it up but they conveniently didn't make me aware of it) and had nothing to say about it when I questioned it, as it's likely a management decision so I'd love a follow up from the manager with an explanation of this ridiculous policy. I enjoy getting a triple burger and splitting it with my husband. It's so big I have a hard time biting into it. Great service Gilbert was super nice. I love the old music reminds me of the old days.
