This place is no good. Gave an extra star cause server was nice. I been to a lot of sushi restaurants in bensonhurst and this compared to them is like day and night. We stumbled upon this place randomly and my niece said she wanted sushi. We ordered a few lunch special. I had the 2 rolls with soup. The miso soup was on the saltier side. My 2 rolls came with edamame and sui mai. The eel avocado roll was BAD, the eel is bascially non existence compared to the avocado in there. Also the eel was not heated up so it tasted REALLY fishy. Yuck. The rice was hard, tasted like day old rice, had no flavor. Both rolls lacked flavor, i couldnt even finish it. The sui mai was so bad i had to spit it out. I would avoid this place, the food are just NOT FRESH, find another sushi joint, there seems to be plenty around. read more

Having dinner with my mom and daughter. I noticed this cute little restaurant while driving in the area and I finally came to check them out myself. My daughter ate here previously and she said the food was delicious. Oh how right she was! We started with the shrimp & vegetable tempura and I had the roasted duck , mom had the teriyaki chicken and my daughter had the tuna & salmon dream platter. Everything was absolutely amazing...from presentation to taste. As for the restaurant itself, very nice ambience, quick and friendly staff. If you're in the area...do yourself a favor and stop by. Ive come here for both dinner and lunch specials. The ambiance for a date (especially a first date) is an ideal location. I think the Buddha statue is awesome! Gyoza here has always been my go to. Sushi is ok. I never ordered a boat here or one of their specialty sushi meals. Overall, a nice place to talk, have a glass of wine/beer, and have small bites. read more

Received my food, paid w cash and shortly after I receive a text message from the delivery guy Delivery guy "next time you don't have enough tip go pick up" Please see pictures for text conversation Went back to look for my receipt and saw I had given a nice tip. Kiku won me over from the moment I walked in the door - being greeted by a warm host isn't something every adorable bistro in Park Slope does. But Kiku understands the importance of hospitality and service, along with the art of making sushi. They do all of the above exceptionally well. With house music gently thumping and a giant Buddha statue holding down the east end of the dining room, the dining room is elegant and upscale, which made the advertised Bento box lunch special seem even a bigger bargain at just $9. Who doesn't love a Bento box? Four pieces of well-sliced sushi, meaty pork shumami, fuzzy, green edamame pods, which deliver ape-like pleasure when shoved in one's mouth for de-seeding. If I lived in Park Slope, I would visit Kiku weekly, if not more often. Great value for an elegant meal out. read more

I ended up wandering into the Kiku Asian Bistro on Sunday afternoon while wandering down 5th ave. The place itself looks very cool, has a full bar, and has plenty of different tables for parties of all sizes. The menu is pretty typical for any Asian bistro (although I was pretty bummed sweet potato rolls were not on the menu) and has plenty of meat options, rice and noodles, soups, salads, and of course plenty of sushi. I ended up just ordered the Thai Fried rice with chicken and although I didn't dislike the food, it didn't really have much flavour to leave much of an impression on me. Overall, this isn't a bad place to stop in for a quick lunch but I don't think I would come back in the future. read more

Park Slope is lucky to have this restaurant. I've never had a bad meal here and this is our go to place. Awesome sushi, fantastic Udon noodles, and amazing duck. Great meal without being overcharged just because we're in Park Slope. I usually shy away from ordering sushi on seamless, but when we do, it shows up timely, fresh, and tasty! As another yelper stated, Sherry is a really great hostess. I was rather bleary/zombie eyed from a 3am wakeup to get down to NYC for work on Monday. Basically was on fumes when I got back to the hotel, but of course being in Brooklyn, I had to dine somewhere. Sushi was very fresh and a Kirin Light was probably the additive for the 8:00 pm lights out on Monday night. Quite reasonable...just watch out near the eatery for the stroller Mommy's in the new family friendly Brooklyn. Some of those folks appeared a little too intense... Will be back.. read more

My favorite Sushi spot in Brooklyn. Kiku has always been located in my neighborhood but recently moved to its new location, just a few businesses down from its original location. The New Location is amazing, very trendy and upscale looking, without the upscale price. I never did get a chance to visit the new location until a few days ago, we were in the mood for Sushi and gave the New KIKU a Try. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the friendliest staff ever, you can really feel that they are genuine about welcoming you. We sat at the tables located on the Side walk, my napkin was quickly folded and placed on my lap by our lovely waitress. She explained the menu to us and gave us time to choose from their extensive menu. We ordered the Mango avocado salad which was light yet rich, and very tasty. I ordered the Special Sushi combo which with a little bit of everything... everything indeed because everything was Devine. Best Sushi experience ever, I will definitely be back again and again. I gotta say my mind was pretty blown during my experience here at Kiku. I've pretty much had all the Japanese (favorite cuisine) around my area and you might say this was the best for last - pretty close to Ki Sushi. The Tuna Taco special app sounded tacky, but was really quite interesting and tasty. Philadelphia Roll, though generic was spot on and fresh. The Kiku Roll was interesting - I'm not sure about the onion tempura element though and if it were simple tempura flakes it would be too generic. The All Around (I think that's was it was) had a lot of complex ingredients such as Chilean Sea Bass - very tasty. My friend noticed that a good portion of the Special Rolls had cooked elements, which is why it was compared to Ki Sushi's primarily raw Special Rolls. Great date spot. read more

Necessity breeds opportunity, and my need was to use a 15% off Seamless coupon before it expired. And I had a hankering for sushi, so Kiku fit the bill. I ordered: -Passion Special Roll - lobster salad, pear, seared salmon jalapeno -Jalapeno Special Roll - tuna, yellowtail, avocado -Hamachi/yellowtail sashimi -Red clam sashimi -Broccoli tempura I liked the jalapeno special roll the best. A little bit of tartness from the yuzu sauce, and some good spice. The passion special roll was a bit too sweet, but the dried cranberries on top were a nice touch. For a single order, the broccoli tempura was a ton of food. I liked both of the sashimi I got as well. Delivery was fast, but then again I live pretty close. Almost close enough where I could justifiably be called lazy for not going to pick it up myself... Look forward to ordering from Kiku again! read more

Seems to be the trend but, I can't taste the fish. Seafood Curry dish - was ok but I don't think the curry was cooked long enough. Tasted pasty They still don't know what station the Knicks are on. So when we requested the game; they just handed us the remote. Not a big deal but it took like 10 minutes of searching. It is MSG, just write down the channel for the next customer. p.s., There are a lot of Rangers, Giant, Jets, and Nets fans here as well. You should note those channels too. Not surprisingly, sushi sounded REALLY GOOD to my boyfriend and I, who had been eating Thanksgiving turkey and/or leftovers for the last four days. Kiku had tasty, surprisingly fresh sushi, an inviting room, and so-so service. The chirashi features really fresh, though standard pieces of sushi, yet is *beautifully* presented. The hot and sour soup is not to be missed, the wild mushroom soup is incredibly light and flavorful (but scaldingly HOT!), and the chicken yaki sobu noodles pretty darn good. When the mood for sushi and/or Japanese fare strikes again (whether post-triptophan holiday or no), Kiku may be a pretty good bet! read more

Great location in Brooklyn. Spacious design with a beautiful Buddha located in the back of the restaurant. Nice bathrooms that are very clean. Hospitality was very good from the moment we walked through the door. Food was also very good, large filling portions with good presentation. Listen up Foodies! It gets no better than this. An overall EXCELLENT Experience! From the Ambiance, to the Pleasantry, to the Staff, to the Food! There was the cuties family there. Little girl 2yrs old was very friendly, talkative and gave high fives to the buss boy and wait staff! To me, that says a lot. I love Kiku. The staff is friendly and helpful - Sherry rocks. If you eat there more than once the staff works hard to learn about their clientele and are amazingly welcoming. Given I love sushi that is usually what I order. Their triple sushi is always extremely fresh and tasty. It delivers all my favorite sushi tuna, slamon and yellow tail at a very reasonable price. My girlfriend does not eat sushi so I usually dine alone and sit at the bar. I sit in front of the big screen tv and if I ask they let me use the remote to watch what I want. Usually, I raise the volume so I can hear but not too loud as to disturb other diners. I like watching the sushi chef's preparing colorful and creative dishes.
