We celebrated two family birthdays here this visit and they were very accommodating to us. Most of our party arrived way after our reservation time and they did not have seat us at all. Thank you! The staff again was amazing! They were very busy and even ordering starters, all of our food was served very timely. Everything was fresh tasting and very good tasting. Our cook was fun and entertaining. The restaurant itself is quite fresh looking and modern. Like I said the food was delicious I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here and no one walked away hungry! We will be back again when meeting with family in this area.

I have a shellfish allergy and I specifically told them to please be aware that I have a shellfish allergy. The allergy is really severe and I could die if I eat shrimp or get near it. I get my order and they gave me shrimp in all of my orders. God forbid I ate this food it could've went really bad. I would not trust this place unless they cook in front of your eyes.

Went for the hibachi experience for my sisters birthday and it was incredible food and experience! So much food for a reasonable price! I got the steak and shrimp combo and loved it! Chef was fun and interactive. The rice was so incredible and my leftovers held up the next day. 10/10!

This was my first time at Kiku. I was extremely impressed by the amount of Covid safety features that took place. The handless thermometer, only letting one person in at a time to be seated, handwhipes and a bag for your mask when you sit down! The rock shrimp was some of the best I've had in a long time! A little on the spicy side but I definitely enjoyed it. The sweet potato roll was yummy and the rock 'n' roll was good but I wasn't a big fan of the sauce on top it tasted a little bit like barbecue sauce. Won't be ordering that one again!

I found this hidden gem online and saw it gotten really good reviews on goggle. My husband I decided to try this place out. On Sundays they have no specials which was a bummer. They have really great prices on there sushi and the sushi was very fresh and delicious. The inside decor was very nice as well.

Normally dine-in, but got takeout this time. It obviously can not compare to having the chefs cook in front of you, but the food was still delicious. They also give you A LOT of food. Worth the price.

I guess I had high expectations especially when I had numerous of my colleagues recommending this eatery. So I took the initiative and had a family date night. First off, the place is clean and abiding all precautions with hands free temperature screening, hand sanitization, and even a baggie to place your mask in. As well as different door entrances for dine in and takeout. Our server was attentive and sweet. Started off with Rock Shrimp. Lightly battered, the coated sauce was a bit off. The Mister and kiddo had hibachi. Very generous portion, even for the kids size. Plenty to take home. The sushi had nice presentation, but taste didn't follow up with it. I had better and fresher. Normally, I would finish everything, but I ate what I could.

Conveniently located next to Kohl's. Was just expecting a typical Japanese's steakhouse when I walked in. But once I saw the menu, I was very surprised with the different varieties they offer here. Their sushi look amazing, but we were feeling hibachi today. So we ordered the seafood yaki udon, hibachi filet mignon and Japanese fried spring roll (never seen this anywhere else, very excited to try this dish but slightly disappointed myself. It is filled with imitation crab, cheese and one asparagus, the taste is rather bland. And I am not a big fan of the sweet and sour sauce (with orange scent). The seafood yaki udon is below average in my opinion, other than real shrimp, other seafood are like imitation crab, fake fish ball things. The vegetables are not cut well, it looks like the chef just chop it randomly and throw it in. The plating looks great but taste is so- so On the other hand, the hibachi filet mignon tastes much better. But nothing too special about it. Overall, I think this place has very special dishes that you won't find easily elsewhere. But the taste is average. Maybe their sushi will be better.

I have to say- I have a mushroom allergy. Their vegetables come with mushrooms in them (something I did not check beforehand) and when I ordered at the hibachi I asked our server about it. She confirmed that there are mushrooms. I told her of my allergy and she was so accommodating. She had the kitchen cook my order in the back so there would be no cross contamination from the oils! This place is amazing! Customer service cannot be beat! I highly recommend eating here. read more

Very good food, excellent selection with just the right touch of specialty items. The Angry Dragon Roll was very good and the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The lighting is very cool and the decor is very modern and clean. Service could use a little more enthusiasm, but overall it was pretty good. read more

This place is great. Super clean, super friendly, drinks are good. Lots of good food. Tony was our chef and he was probably the most entertaining chef for hibachi that I've ever had. Lots of sake and he made everyone laugh the entire time without a break. read more

Extremely disappointed!! Horrible take out service! The adult take out portion was the exact same as the two kids meals I ordered! How does this make sense when I paid 20$ more for my entree!! The manager was absolutely no help and did not see anything wrong with charging double ($32) for a adult entree which has the same amount of food as my child's entree($14)!!!! We tried calling and discussing this and the lady was rude and not helpful at all. Shame on you for treating customers this way!! read more

This was our 4th time coming here and I must say the sushi has decreased in quality and quantity. The first 3 times my wife ordered the salmon/avocado roll and the quality and quantity was exceptional. However, this last time, the portion was smaller and the salmon wasn't as fresh. Hopefully, this will be the only time it will happen. We will patronize again, but if they fail to deliver quality sushi, we will write this restaurant off. read more

This was our first time eating at Kiku. We went on Christmas Day for dinner. The restaurant was fairly busy and we asked to be seated at the regular dining area instead of the Hibachi area. We had to wait an exceptional time to order but the food came rather quickly. The food was very good. I ordered the filet mignon dinner which came with miso soup and white rice. Saturday night you expect to be crowded, but taking names to add to wait list via phone would be a huge benefit. Was told that the couldn't. Yet people that arrived after me were ahead of me on list?? Way too loud even at regular dining tables to have a conversation. Wait staff was inattentive and abrupt. Wasn't worth to 50 minute wait. read more

We came for dinner with a large group, and the entire staff was super accommodating and the food was delicious! Special thanks to Manager Jeff, for making our dining experience top notch. We loved the hibachi, and our chef was hilarious! I loved the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant, it was very comfortable. This is definitely a great new addition to Middletown, we will be back soon! :) read more

I went to pay for my meal and the waiter lost my credit card by accident. The manager came over to explain what happened. He then had the nerve to ask for another credit card to pay. Really? Well that didn't happen because of the hoops I have to jump through to cancel card, change all the bills connected to card and wait for replacement card. The manager made the waiter pay for it. Is this the type of place you want to do business with. read more

As a Japanese food snob, I wondered how authentic can such a restaurant in such a town be? Turns out, not very. But it does not need to be as the food is legitimately tasty. The hibachi chefs put on a solid show that is neither too short nor too long. No wagyu-style/dry-aged/etc meat here but it is of good quality. Dress casually and hope your chef has an accurate throwing arm. read more

Taken the family here twice for the Teppan grill twice and was extremely disappointed with my last visit. It will literally be my our last visit there. We were a group of two families and ordered from the Teppan menu. I can tell our Teppan Chef was new. I would give him an "A" for effort but his performance was not great and the food was drenched in sauce even though we asked him to do less sauce. I would usually just forgive this and move on but for a dinner check for a group of 8, that's not cheap. So when I brought this up to the manager, I was told that next time I should emphasize less sauce. I told him that we've been there before and the food wasn't like this the first time and he just wanted getting it. He basically insisted that the next time we come, to not be embarrassed to tell the chef less sauce. In my mind, when you go to a Japanese restaurant and pay for Teppan, you pay for consistency and for customer service. We would've been better off eating at a Sarku in a mall food court. read more

Just tried this new restaurant for the first time. Given that they are new, staff at the front was a little confused when I asked about the price of a combo meal. We've been here numerous times and really like it. I don't eat sushi but hubby does and he says it's always nice and fresh. We've been here on different days of the week and at different times and it's been pretty consistent. The Hibachi is fun and the food tastes good. The restaurant table side is good too if you want to be away from the banging and merriment. read more

This place is great! Great food, great fun and great atmosphere. We have tried Kiku for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Jeff B., the manager, always treats us like family, as well as Kent and the rest of the staff. We always feel welcomed. The hibachi chefs are always a lot of fun, and cook the food well. Went for a non hibachi table service dinner. Three in the party. We were sat down promptly. And that was where it ended. After sitting there for 10 minutes, a waitress finally showed up to ask for our drinks...after another 10 minutes we got up and left with no drinks and no order taken. read more

This place was very good! We visited for my 21st birthday this past week. Was going to go to hibachi but was told by multiple people that this new restaurant was delicious and I had to try it! The portion sizes were huge and I took a few bites and was so full I had to save my entire meal for the next day! The show by the cook was also very entertaining and had us all laughing. The only part I wasn't impressed with was the drinks. I ordered two different drinks and both were so nasty I could barely finish them! Probably wouldn't order any drinks from here again, but definitely would return for the food!! Overall great experience. It's beautiful inside as well. read more

Sandwiches, four of them come so you can order a half and a soup or half salad. The sandwiches are large. There is a veggie and a turkey burger as well. Soups included tomato basil and broccoli cheddar, but the broccoli soup ran out so chowder was on offer instead. Some food is vegan and some is gluten free but they don't offer non-shared surfaces or fryers so if you can't have cross contamination, you're out of luck. Of course "traditional" breakfast is available, avocado toast, eggs benedict, eggs-and-meat, pancakes, waffles, strawberry French toast, and I can't believe it, biscuits and gravy, either as a breakfast with eggs and potatoes or as a side. More on this later. There are also tacos (barbacoa) omelets, frittatas, chimichurri steak and eggs, and French toast. Also wraps and bowls. The emphasis is on (more or less) healthy or at least trendy, so the sausage was turkey sausage in the biscuit and gravy. We ordered one roast beef and horseradish sauce sammie with a side of salad or soup, the soup was chowder (it was...ok. A Bostonian would have something to say, but it was fine if you ignore the alien red bell pepper that a New Englander would raise an eyebrow at.) The sandwich had sauteed onion, havarti cheese and argula and was absolutely delish. My dining partner devoured this (I did get a bite to verify its excellence.) The soup was a good sized cup. I had the biscuit and gravy side. Plenty of fresh black pepper and the turkey sausage was well-seasoned. The biscuit was buttery. It could have been served hotter (it was lukewarm) but this is a perpetual problem I have with US restaurants serving less than piping hot food that will cool off too much as you eat. It was just on the point of being "not ok" so I ate it all. I think they poured the gravy out and it sat, waiting on the sandwich, which is why it cooled down. However, it was really good. I haven't had good biscuits and gravy since I moved back from the Midwest and this hit the spot. The menu prices are reasonable, especially considering what you get; well prepared and interesting food that isn't run-of-the-mill breakfast or brunch. I'm looking forward to another visit and trying out more of the menu if I can resist the biscuit and gravy.

With a quick search for local restaurants, I came across Randazzo's Trattoria. I punched in the address of 103 Patriot Drive into the GPS, and off I went. They have some merch by the front door in a little branch-off area to the left as you walk in. Then I turned right and met with a queue of people waiting for a table. Very rarely do I run into a queue waiting to get into a local restaurant. However, everyone I've ever visited has been so worth the wait. Again, my foodie senses were tingling in a good way. As I waited, the counter was to the left, and behind the cashier, you could watch the staff make the pizzas. I was mesmerized. I love places that have an open view of the kitchen. There is something poetic I find about watching a cook or a chef prepare a dish in the kitchen. I overheard the hostess talking to the couple in front of me about their reservation. So good tip, if this place is going to be a return stop, make a reservation. When it was my turn, the hostess was friendly and showed me to my table. I sat with a perfect view, directly looking at the kitchen door. So, there was more to the kitchen in this place than just the pizza counter I saw as I stood at the front. The place is a flurry of activity. The wait staff was flying through the place, getting drinks, delivering food, and getting refills. My waitress told me later on that they were short-staffed, which explained all the activity. Again, the staff was really hustling, which included the hostess. When she wasn't showing guests to their tables, she cleared tables, ran orders, and got drinks. I started with the side salad that came with my meal. It looked and tasted fresh with a wonderful balsamic vinaigrette. It was a delicious and delightful beginning of the meal. I didn't see any rusty lettuce, and it wasn't served on a cold plate, which suggests it was plated earlier in the day and kept refrigerated until serving time. It doesn't always mean that; sometimes, places refrigerate the plates they use for serving salads, and that's not a bad thing. But I have come across places that have done the aforementioned offense, and you can usually tell with the lettuce and other veggies being dried out and not tasting as good as fresh ingredients. This was not the case with Randazzo's side salad. Next, whenever I see garlic knots on the menu, I have to order them. What can I say, I'm a huge lover of all things bread. Especially when it's covered in garlicky goodness. For me, these knots were perfectly made. They pulled apart, steam escaping from the now-exposed crumb within. The crust had just the right crispness. And the overall chew was wonderful. The interesting part of this dish, for me, was the sauce. It was a thin, semi-watery sauce. It had a mild taste, and the seasoning wasn't overbearing. It complemented the garlic knot well. To my taste buds, the sauce became the welcome mat to the goodness of the garlic knots. As it hit my tongue first, it was like it was saying, Welcome. Allow me to introduce you to my friend, the garlic knot. These are a must-try if you ever visit the restaurant. Then it was on the big show. The main course. I ordered their Chicken Piccata with Linguini. In all the dishes I've had, it's always been served with breaded chicken. This one threw me a bit with them making it with grilled chicken. But my goodness, it did not disappoint. The chicken was so tender. Perfectly cooked. And look at this portion! The picture does not do it justice because it was a massive plate. The other star of this dish was the sauce. Most dishes I've had are a mixture of lemony butter, maybe white wine, broth, or sometimes oil. This was not your plain Jane Piccata sauce. The lemon and butter were definitely there. I think I tasted a hint of wine, but they either added flour or something else that gave it a little more body and a creamier texture. And the Capers! They were huge. I've never seen capers that large. They just added that little extra to the dish with their little pop of lemony smoothness when you bite into them. And the linguini was wonderful and cooked perfectly. The dopamine my brain was flooding my body with sent me deeper into gastronomic bliss with each bite. Before I knew it, I had finished the entire plate. My stomach yelled at me later as I waddled my way out to my car, but damn, it was worth it. My overall experience with Randazzo's Trattoria was absolutely wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly, even as they ran around the restaurant, truly hustling. And I speak from experience, that is not easy to do when you're working a full shift. If you ever find yourself in Middletown, Delaware, I strongly suggest stopping by Randazzo's and giving them a try.

While waiting for my food, I couldn't help but chuckle at the "thy shalt" and "thy shalt not" signs on the walls--definitely gave off a military or law enforcement vibe. This is officially my new go-to spot for ribs. The place is small with limited seating, but I'm perfectly happy eating in my car. It's worth the 90-minute drive for great BBQ. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem--they even offer catering!

Great food! I highly recommend the filet mignon. While I prefer medium-rare, Kiku's filet is still juicy and tender when prepared at any doneness. The scallops are another favorite of mine. They are large and cooked perfectly. From the dining menu I also love the Chilean sea bass. The meal is a nice portion size and the sauce is amazing! Lastly, the sushi is fresh and tasty. The sizes of the nigiri and sashimi pieces are a good size. There are also a wide selection of specialty signature rolls to choose from. While the wait for a hibachi table or dining room table may be longer than I'd like, it is worth the wait. Simply get a drink at their full bar to pass the time. read more

We just celebrated my husband's birthday here tonight and i have to say, the food was good and our cook was funny and entertaining (we were probably the loudest group in there. LOL!). The manager/owner even approached us to ask if we had a good time (most probably getting direct feedbacks from customers since they've only been open 1 month). Enjoyed the food, opted for table service as opposed to hibachi, the atmosphere was welcoming, the whole staff was on their "A" game & other servers continuously asked if we needed anything. The sushi is excellent. I've never had a bad meal there. The yum yum sauce is amazing! The chefs are entertaining and the service has always been good. One of my favorite places in the area.
