This pizza is so good! I recommend the pioneer pizza and for salads I recommend the ugly duckling.

Started with the Moxie salad - great flavor BUT they didn't strip the leaves off the kale stems. It was like eating a tree trunk. Ugh. The Pioneer pizza had great flavor but there were spots where it was doughy and undercooked. Waiter and hostess were very nice. Music was way too loud. read more

Ingredients are fresh and though the pizza is built like a cake it's incredibly light. Definitely one of the best deep dish pizza around.

We came here because it was recommended. When we walked in we thought it was a typical 1/2 good pizza place. We ordered drinks and a brick then we decided to go ahead and try the imposters they came out so fast. They was tender and yummy. We ordered a salad and it came out in 3 mins or less. We was recommended to try the honey badger, the bats and the bell fry and the pig riot they was all spot on. Sam the server was so sweet she took amazing care of us. Our drinks never got less than 1/2 and all of our plates was picked up as soon as we was done. She was super busy and smiled the whole time. We highly recommend this place. We will be back and every time we are any where close we will drive to eat here. If you come ask for Sam. She will definitely recommend what's good and give you excellent service. Native Detroiter, hoping for for the best. Nope. This is a pretty feeble attempt at Detroit Style. Had their version of a pepperoni pizza and the Ugly Duckling Salad. First, the crust was almost cakey, light, yes, but not close to Buddy's and other imitators who do it right. Next, the cheese to crust ratio was way off, barely any cheese on some squares. Even the cheesy edges seemed inauthentic. The sauce was way too sugary and there was not enough on the pizza. It looked legit but even my wife took her first bite and said "not even close". Service was great and the salad was good. If you are looking for legit Detroit Style in the DFW area, there are a couple much better options. Sadly, even Jets corner style is far superior to this place. read more

If i could give 0 stars for customer service i would. We were excited to try since it recently opened. We were turned away because we were told they are not allowing for carry out at this time. We were planning on placing a large order because we have a lot of family in town and wanted to wait for our order and get some drinks. They were pleased to turn away our business and un-phased that we left. This says everything in itself. I've never known a restaurant that doesn't allow takeout or have food boxes available at opening. I guess if you do dine-in and you have leftovers you have to take them in your hands. read more

Have been to Killa Pie around 3-4 times since they've opened and every time their pizza's are excellent. I love Detroit style and I love what Killa Pie has done with it. I've had both the original style crust and the slender crust, both are amazing. read more

Pizzas good I've had a few times but I'm not sure about the manager Tristan. I came in 10 minutes before 4 to do some school work and order some drinks and he told me I was too early and that I needed to be buying something to sit at the bar but I never said I wasn't buying anything. If you have managers turning business away because it's 10 minutes too early (y'all open up at 4 that's more than enough time to prepare) and assuming that people aren't spending money then that's not a good look. Someone should have a talk with management because I've seen them be rude to other customers as well. Have a friend that kept telling me we needed to try this place she was right. It was delicious. We had the ugly duckling salad which is great non lettuce option. For pizza we had the bats in the belfry. The bacon was so good and loved the Detroit style crust. We definitely will be back and try others. We went on opening weekend and were highly impressed by how well everything went. We're born & raised in Detroit so we had high hopes; Killa Pie delivered. We had the meatball appetizer, antipasto salad and pizza. Meatballs were incredible. Crust & atmosphere are 100% Detroit. Apart from the toppings being above the cheese (a strict 313 no-no), the only thing we weren't crazy about was the marinara which had a slightly bitter taste. Tried this place for the first time last night and really enjoyed it! It had a cool vibe inside. It was a little smokey inside but no more then any of the bbq places around. There are a lot of pizza choices around here, but we liked that this was a little different from the typical pizza. We had our younger kids with us so we ordered a pepperoni in the Detroit style and a cheese pizza in the slender style (I think that's what it was called) both were really good! I also got a side Caesar salad that was really good! We were sitting near the kitchen and saw a lot of the food going out and everything looked delicious! We will definitely be back to try some of the other items and get more pizza. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Ordered to go for pick up at 3 as I was picking up lunch before work and was dropping some off to a friend. Ordered one pizza without mushrooms and onions and when I got there the pizza was wrong they had to remake so I had to wait. I paid extra for dressing and when I realized I didn't get it I called in. The supposed manager on duty has the nerve to tell me I'm making it up that she put two dressings in each salad. So apparently she can't make a mistake? How dare she call me a liar I do have better things to do than call a restaurant and complain and lie about it. The customer service here needs an upgrade, the food was alright a little overpriced, and I could have overlooked that but due to the manager calling me a liar I do not plan to go back. You may want to think about retraining your staff. read more

Tried this place for the first time recently and my first thoughts after walking in were that the atmosphere was really cool and I just felt like the food was going to be great. I was half correct. The food is certainly not bad and had great flavor, but the portion sizes in relation to the price just didn't do it for me. It felt very overpriced for what we had ordered. As for our service, the waiter was nice but he definitely made us feel rushed from start to finish which didn't exactly create a peaceful meal either. As soon as we walked in, we hadn't even sat down and he was asking for drink and appetizer orders. We told him we needed a minute to get settled in and he awkwardly stood there a few more seconds while we started to read the menu. Just not comfortable with stuff like that. I appreciate an attentive server but there also needs to be a balance and some space to get situated before ordering. Overall, this place has good food and great potential but the price can't be justified in my opinion and servers can't be hovering over guests trying to settle in. read more

I LOVE this pizza, but I am IN LOVE with the Ugly Duckling Salad!! One of the best salads I've ever had. The atmosphere is great. It's small but also inviting. The bar is nice too. I can't wait for patio weather to sit out there an eat my favorite salad while enjoying the outdoors. I wish they were open for lunch so I could visit more frequently. The only thing I will recommend is if you are shopping and grabbing lunch - shop first and then eat, because you will be totally full afterward. read more

This place literally put me in a bad mood.. first of all I order a "large" ugly duckling "salad" ... it's the size of a side salad.. and it's not what you think you would be getting when you order a (large) salad. They don't use fresh ingredients.. it's from a jar.. and it came to the table with 2 spoons to serve it, like if it was an appetizer for the table.. (I'm glad I wasn't making it my meal) it was $12... the pizzas (we ordered one thinner crust, and one original) the thicker pizza we so bad that we had to get my youngest chick-fil-a on the way home.. and we all had to stop for ginger ale on the short drive home, because it was that bad.. we had Detroit style pizza before.. and it was not like it.. and they had horrible music playing..we never got refills.. and the guy saw mine and my husbands cups empty multiple times.. it was $75 (before the tip) and I wish I had my $75 back.. now that we all feel sick with indigestion.. that was our first time trying this place and it was the last.. read more

I was so happy to see a new type of restaurant in this area but so disappointed with my $40 sq of pie. It was a great piece of bread with nothing on it ( I requested 2meats, spinach, onion ...) piled with a glob of marina sauce that just hides the fact that your bread pie has nothing on it. I've been up there a number of 4 times including tonight and tonight is my last time at this restaurant the level of unprofessionalism given by the bartender lead me to my decision I watched the whole fiasco and as much as I wanted to chime in and come to the woman's defense I thought it would be best to not come back until I know I'll come to a bar with a kind attentive bartender each time. The woman had every right to feel how she felt as I'm sure a number of guest like myself have felt the same. I'm sure if we would have spoken up as well the outcome could have turned out differently. The bartender ignored my friends and I a number of times, she walked around the bar with an attitude from the moment we arrived; making remarks as well as unpleasant facial expressions like mentioned before I've been there 3 other times and experienced the other bartenders and I can say they were very friendly and kind unlike what I experienced tonight sadly she more than likely will run a lot of people away because I watched how she interacted with all of the other guests. Word of advice put your insecurities aside and do your job women will potentially tip you bigger than a man. The reason people go to the bar is for a good experience. read more
