Started with cinnamon rolls -- one order, two rolls, absolutely worth it. Irish coffee and a Bloody Mary loaded with thick bacon and a slice of Pietap pizza on top. The sausage breakfast sandwich with fries was outstanding. The egg white omelet with hollandaise and spinach was the one miss -- left some behind. $105.01 with tip for two including cocktails. We went in about an hour before closing on a Sunday night after getting off the lake which was about 9pm. We'd never been here before and I'd been wanting to try it for a while. Great ambiance and layout to me. The menu has things I'd like to try in the future but we were specifically after the "pie" section that night. We were seated quickly but our server was hung up for a while however the bartender (I think his name was Isaac) saw us sitting for a while and took the incentive (in the middle of his closing duties, with customers of his own) to come check in with us and take our drink and app order. More stars for him- we had to flag him down another time for the same reason later. So thanks for being our backup waiter. We got the garlic rosemary bread puffs with very little wait time- fresh and hot- plenty to share, more than two people need. I loved them- my other half said they could use more garlic. For the main we ordered the pepperoni pizza and added caramelized onions. Also came out in ample time. The flavor was great- there was just.. not much there? It was like a crispy crepe. Idk if my photo will do the shortage of sauce and cheese justice, and maybe that's just the style and it's American of me to want more than a splash of sauce. The pepperoni pizza was fine. It's pretty thin crust with the large pepperonis. I prefer the small ones, but they weren't bad. It was pretty good reheated in the microwave. Highly disappointed. Check out the pic attached, the pizza was burnt all underneath and in the photo you can see how burnt in the middle of the pie (the corner of each slice curled up because of how burnt it was). Went for dinner and their food was as always promptly served and incredibly tasty. We started with their bread and whipped butter -HEAVENLY. Then we had a big size Cesar Salad that had the right amount of creamy dressing and the croutons were incredibly crunchy and well seasoned. For main course I had the gnocchi and my friend the pasta bolognese. Both were so rich, mine was creamy the ricotta really shined through and the spinach and mushrooms were a great compliment. We finished with their chocolate cake that was so sweet by itself but the delicious and lightly sweetened fresh whipped cream balanced the dish perfectly. We've always loved the food and staff at Pie Tap, but tonight started off incredibly frustrating. My husband, son and I arrived around 5:30pm and were told by the manager, Baylee, that there were no tables available inside or outside until 7-7:30pm due to being short staffed. This was confusing because I had literally just checked online before arriving and saw multiple outdoor reservations available starting at 5:30pm. To confirm, I booked a 5:45pm outdoor reservation on my phone right in front of her, received the confirmation, and politely asked to be seated. Baylee still refused, stating I had "just made that reservation" and could not be seated until 7 or 7:30pm. I then asked to speak with the GM, Tommy. I explained that another family with a 5:45pm reservation had just been seated, so I didn't understand why ours would not be honored. Tommy immediately apologized, seated us outside right away, and completely turned the evening around. He checked on us multiple times during dinner and genuinely cared about making things right. Thank you, Tommy, for the excellent customer service and for valuing repeat customers. You truly saved the night for our family. read more

So due to our first experience I was hesitant to go back. However, from my prior visit the manager did reach out and apologize offering us a credit towards a future dine in experience. On this visit we weren't able to dine in but I was in the mood for pizza so we went with a take out order. FYI; I eat pizza weekly. I have to say this experience was worse than the last. The pizza on this visit was a lacking toppings and flavor, the crust was still spot on though. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich which she did not like, not entirely sure why as it looked good. My son ordered a half chicken and it reminded me of the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Turkey as it was closer to jerky than chicken. The final item ordered was a salad which was actually really good so that was a silver lining. I read so many positive reviews about this place I'm wondering what I'm missing. Found this gem of a great pizzeria in Frisco. Tried for the first time and just loved it! Superb hygiene maintained by the servers and super b service by their staff. They welcome diners by providing the squirt of hand sanitizer if the diners wish too. Themselves the staff was always having gloves. Most clean and organized sitting for diners. Wow... Looked for a place for takeout tonight and stopped at Pie Tap Pizza in Frisco. Read reviews on yelp, and had it on my 'must try' list for quite sometime. We tried a 50% veggie pizza and 50% pepperoni pizza. OMG... So, so good!! Best veggie pizza I've ever had in my life!! So surprised by the egg on top! And the best onions ever!! My husband really enjoyed his pepperoni half, but said the balance between the veggie and the pepperoni was fantastic! Will definitely be back to eat in the restaurant to try the Italian dishes. This is my second review for Pie Tap because the first one was not great. The pizza was burnt and everything was too salty. During this visit, we made reservations for two. We arrived 10 minutes early and the hostess told us our table will be ready closer to our reservation time. No biggie. We waited outside because it was packed inside. At our reservation time, we checked in to see if our table was ready. It was not. We checked out the bar and saw two available seats so we decided to jump on it. I informed the hostess and she said our table was being wiped down at the moment. I told her not to worry about it so she can give it away to a bigger party (up to four people) because we can easily occupy the two barstools. Well, she took that to mean I didn't show up for my reservation so she cancelled it. That means I did not get my points on Open Table. Strike one. Our bartender greeted us immediately and made our drinks. She also introduced the other bartender but the other one never even acknowledged us. She would walk by to talk to other patrons but not ask if we were doing okay nor take away our empty plates. Strike two. The Fried Risotto was mediocre, Pasta with Sausage was good (server chose it for me but I forgot the name), but the Baked Chicken was horrible. The chicken was dry, veggies was undercooked, and whatever the grains were, they were very bland. Strike three. I don't think I will come back to Pie Tap. Sorry, I don't understand what makes it so great. To each their own. read more

Great dinner spot for a Saturday night/ busy and bustling but we had a reservation. Nice set up/ cozy and got all the modern tavern feels. We had a wonderful nice server. She was attentive and kind. We ordered a pizza with half and half- no bacon or sausage on one side and full throttle on the other- it came out incorrectly but our server got everything sorted out. The gnocchi was good, but everything was a bit salty. The gnocchi usually comes with a pesto-goat cheese sauce I believe but we switched out for red sauce- it was tasty, just needed a touch less sodium. I enjoyed the flavors but I didn't realize the sausage was chunky, I like a fine grind- and I didn't enjoy the egg, but next time I'll look a little closer at the menu descriptions. All good. We recently tried this place twice, the first time we sat at the bar for appetizers and cocktails. We got the charcuterie which is presented on a large board and has a good variety of meats, cheeses, and a delicious toasted bread. The pistachio honey goat cheese was my favorite! We tried a few different cocktails and they were all delicious and very pretty as well. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We didn't have reservations and it was packed so I recommend them, especially when there isn't really a big area to wait for your table. On our next visit we brought my daughter for her birthday and sat at a table in the dining room. The waiter brought my daughter pizza dough to play with and she loved it! We got the Charcuterie again, Carbonara, Arancini, Spicy Rigatoni and Mac and Cheese. It was all delicious but the Carbonara was my fave! They brought her the donuts as a birthday dessert and they were amazing! I was so impressed with the little extras they did to make her day special. This is an Uber eats food order review. Ordering a charcuterie and cheese is always a gamble when it's delivered but this did not disappoint. All components were nicely separated and the accompaniments were all in tack. The cheeses could've used a bit more variety but really good. The pizza. So deliciously garlicky in the right way! The flavor is so unique. All the dough is just four simple ingredients: water, salt, olive oil, and flour- a sour dough crust. The Smoked Rosemary Lemonade was immaculate- I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but definitely mine. We visited in the evening, so the restaurant was nice and relaxing with dim lighting. Having heard so much about Pie Tap, I was so glad to hear that one was opening up nearby. I had made reservations for my SO and I to have an early dinner. Upon entering, I was a little shocked at how small it looked inside. It was deceptive compared to the outside of the building. Despite having reservations, we still had to wait up front for at least 15-20 minutes with walk-ins. It was odd because it wasn't even that busy. I always judge a pizza joint, especially those with genuine pizza ovens, by their pizza Margherita. If they can get the basics right, then it's a plus for me. With that said, I ordered the pizza Margherita, and my SO got their pepperoni. Both pizzas came out perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed the tomato sauce on my pizza. It was very light and flavorful. My SO devoured his pizza. So it's safe to say that he really enjoyed it. I can absolutely see us returning. Hope they get their reservations/seating arrangement sorted out. First thing I have to say, the happy hour is amazing. From 3-6 during the week they have some great deals on their wine, draft beer, and cocktails. Highly recommend!
