Poor service, poor communication and poor quality. I asked for a new install outdoor condenser to match the other in brand, install and pad. Reiterated this twice. When done I have an outdoor unit that is not the same brand, color or install. Are you kidding me? What a hodgepodge. On other work we even paid more, due to a mistake on Mr. Dodson's end. We treated him more than fair. They didn't even remove the dilapidated pad under the old condenser. I asked for them to put a new one. When they came out they slapped the new on top of the old one. This is the dodgiest work I have ever seen and I have been in construction 30 years. Please do yourself a favor and call a more experienced and seasoned professional who won't yell curse words at you after you paid him 100% for a quality job but will not honor the original quote request you asked him to do. read more

My experience is completely different than the other reviews here. Killenair was assigned to me by my Home Warrantee company and the tech showed up promptly, but I had not received a phone call to arranged the appointment, still - in the middle of a 100° heat wave (heat indexes ~ 110), I was grateful, as I have a medical condition (reflex sympathetic dystrophy) that makes this an emergency, not an inconvenience or discomfort. I specifically purchased and maintain a home warrantee because I cannot tolerate my A/C-Heating going out. The tech told me that due to the age of the system (1982) he was recommending replacement. This was on Thursday. I was told he would have his report in that day, that it normally took a day or two for them to approve things, that the system could be ordered in a day or so, and then it would take 4-5 hours to install. They were paid their $75 service call fee by check. When I had not heard anything by Tuesday, I called the home warrantee folks who said they had not heard back from Killenair at all. They bumped my claim to emergency priority status due to my medical condition and said they would contact Killenair to follow up. By Wednesday night, Killenair had not returned multiple phone calls and emails from the home warrantee company or me. Home warrantee work does not pay as well as "normal" work for these companies, during slow times it helps pay the bills, while during high demand times like this it is easy to let it take a back seat, but willfully ignoring work you have accepted-especially in a case like this where there are medical issues is inexcusable and unethical for any business. A second company had to be called in, a full week after Killenair completely failed in their commitments to both this customer and to the home warrantee company. I certainly hope they do better than Killenair (it's virtually impossible to do worse). Now, with another weekend intervening, it will likely be almost 2 full weeks before this gets resolved -at best. This is catastrophic for me, and I can not describe the pain it creates & may well send me to the ER. I would think not just twice, but three times before ever calling or using Killenair for any type of service. They certainly deserve to lose their contract with Old Republic Home Protection. read more

We had a problem at my son's rental unit, where the AC would run but not cool. Another company came out and declared that the evaporator had a leak, even though the never even looked at the evaporator. He looked inside the condenser through the top and saw no leaks, so said there was a 95% chance it was the evaporator. Killenair came afterward to do a confirmation. Even though I told the technician (Raymond) that the first guy said the leak was in the evaporator, he didn't start there. He took a panel off the condenser and immediately found the leak. The first guy never even bothered to take any panels off, and quoted 3K+ to replace the evaporator. Killenair found the leak, repaired it, and recharged the system for a very reasonable cost. I would not hesitate to call Killenair if I have a problem in my own home. One comment I would make is that they need to hire a scheduler to answer the phone, as the owner is trying to handle that in addition to servicing clients. But I still recommend them. read more

I called Killenair Thursday morning at 8:15 am, to explain my ac was not working properly and water was overflowing the pan under the unit. They had a great technician, Curtis Dodson to my house by noon. He was excellent, got everything working perfectly in an hour and a half and explained some preventative maintenance I should do twice a year to alleviate this from happening. Dennis and his trainee Curtis saved the day! Our A/C was down for about a week. My girlfriend began to get extremely irritable as a result. Dennis and Curtis replaced a huge part, the coil, and had to trouble shoot through numerous problems, through no fault of their own, to get the A/C running. Dennis and Curtis powered on through until about 10pm when the job was done! Dennis did outstanding, meticulous work, he's a perfectionist. Killenair was hired by my home warranty company to come out and service my AC. They ended up replacing an electric motor in my condenser and left without checking the rest of the AC System. They never even looked at the interior unit and when I asked, he said he did not have time because he had 4 more calls waiting. An hour later, I notice that the disconnect box and my house are on fire next to the condenser because they wired something incorrectly. I put out the fire and called them; there initial response was that is an electrical issue and has nothing to do with the AC work we just did in that same exact spot 30 minutes ago. Keep your house and family safe, find someone else! read more

We were assigned this company by our home warranty program. The tech Ray checked the freon levels,amps going to the compressor and motor,the inside coils and even the air temperature coming from the vents. Hopefully our warranty company will approve the interior and exterior coil cleaning needed to restore the correct operation to our system. But I am satisfied with the service we received so far. read more

This company is honest and they do a great job with competitive rates. People who have home warranties need to review the company that sold them their worthless warranty--not the AC company. No reasonable person should expect an AC company to donate their labor and materials to fix your unit! Not only that but the rates were better than an AC company who came out a few weeks prior during business hours ! Bryon fixed our AC problem and was so kind to go over other AC issues with us ! We contacted Killen Air via email because our a/c had stopped cooling and Jackie promptly replied and set up an appointment for us. Bryon came out and was on time and very professional. He accessed our 12 year old unit and determined we a had a large hole in our coil and gave us a price to repair the unit or replace the unit. Because the unit was 12 years old we decided to spend a little more money and have the unit replaced. The quote to replace the unit was less than we expected which was a very pleasant surprise. Juan and his crew came out and were 5 minutes early and they too were very professional. They replaced our old unit and were done with the entire job within about 3 hours. They cleaned up after themselves and did a terrific job. The new unit is much more energy efficient than our 12 year old unit so I expect the new unit will pay for itself in lower utility bills. We definitely recommend Jackie and Bryon and their team if you need any heating and air conditioning work done. read more
