Came here for mifen, noodles are solid and prices are reasonable. The restaurant was rather empty on a Thursdays night. Parking is located in the back of the restaurant, the lot seemed small and limited.

This place was on my social media for a while and I decided to give a try. I am a noodles person and i love noodles soup. This place offers different type of soup base and I tried the their most popular one which is the silk chicken soup with goji. The taste did not really surprise me. My friend also tried the deep fried potato and she really likes it. Overall this place is good to come if you're looking for cheaper noodles soup in the area.

Super cool place with tons of rice noodle and other Sichuan-leaning/Chinese options on the menu! The inside makes you feel like you're in China and the workers seem very nice. Will come back again to try more dishes. The dan dan noodles were pretty authentic, and the rice noodle soups were tasty! Didn't love how the saliva chicken was mostly bones though.

12/05/2021 Screeeeeeeech!! Had to stop and look at this again. This is a new restaurant in this spot. No cash accepted, credit or debit only. I like that. I saw duck on the menu and had to take a peek. Looks like a lot of different soups and stews. Perfect for this weather. White rice is a side order for $1.50. I took it to go but Dine-in is an option. The duck has the peppercorn and chilies but not as spicy as it sounds. The girl that helped me also pointed out the dish that was more popular was not as spicy as the first one I pointed at. Not sure if it was chicken or lamb because it did not have that gamey taste I like. It did have a ton of jalapeños for all you for addicts out there. Just see my photo of how many chilies are in this dish. I'm wondering how the Braised Bean Trotter would be any good. I would eat it with white rice. Lots of great stuff here for this chilly weather. Glad to see something new on this block to try.

I enjoyed my lunch here for several reasons... Kung pao chicken had sichuan peppercorns-nice mala flavor Nice lighting in dining room Checkout staff was nice and informative (I think he was trying to tell me they accept cash now) I do think the portions are a bit small but I don't think I could finish all that food if it were anymore. So, it just feels like you should get more food at that price but I dunno. I'll definitely be back to try other items.

I am glad we came to try this new restaurant. Food tastes good (a little bit oily for me) and the service is good. A cute place for a quick comfort food experience.

Outstanding taste every thing is amazing. The new item Sour spicy cold chicken appetizer is awesome. Lots of parking in front on the street and in the back parking lot. Very technical just scan QR code and order away!

I got here at 8:10 and they close at 8:30 so they were doing 40% off all the individual entrees. I got the konjac duck and pork pepper. The konjac jelly was good but quite spicy. There wasn't many actual pieces of duck, mostly bones. The pork pepper was less spicy and average tasting, but no complaints. It was about $15 for these 2 dishes with the 40% off so its kind of pricey IMO. My friend got pork stew, which she described as "good enough" and the kungpao chicken which she didnt like much. I think its place is probably between a 2.5 and 3 stars for me. Will return....because it is next to my massage place...and try more dishes next time to further refine my review lol

Hey guys! I finally got to try Sichuan Impression, which has been featured in the Michelin Guide for 8 consecutive years! The value for money completely blew me away!! The essence of numbing spice is fully infused into the oil. One whiff hits your head, one bite touches your soul--spicy oil bursts from between the beef fibers with every chew. So satisfying! * Bamboo Shoots in Chili Oil: The ultimate refreshing summer dish! A mild kick of spice ignites your tastebuds, leaving a subtle lingering sweetness at the end~ * Rattan Pepper Fish: The fish is incredibly tender and fresh. The bold rattan pepper takes over your entire palate, giving your tongue a dancing, tingling sensation while staying light and non-greasy! * Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions: Ribeye sliced to the perfect thickness, high-heat flash-fried to lock in the juices. Tender yet satisfyingly chewy with a rich scallion aroma--the ultimate rice pairing! * Chili Oil Wontons (Chao Shou): Thin wrapper, generous filling, smooth on the tongue with zero powdery texture. The chili oil aroma really shines--first sweet and savory, then the spiciness gradually creeps in. The layers of flavor are off the charts~ * Sichuan Impression Cold Noodles: Chewy noodles with a flavor profile of spicy, savory, slightly sweet, and tangy--perfectly balanced to hit all the right notes! * Lychee Sparkling Water: Packed with rich lychee flavor and real fruit pulp--super refreshing and the ultimate spice-quencher! * Returning Customer Exclusive - Free Taro Sweet Potato Balls: Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, enticingly golden. And the Alhambra location's Dine LA set was $72, the cost is slightly different based on location. We joined the waitlist via Yelp ahead of time. Long lines on a Friday night, and since it was the last day of Dine LA. Impressive dumplings 7/10: boiled well, good texture of the wrappers. The filling seemed to be only pork, no veggies, which would have been nice if there was more flavor from vegetables. The sauce was mildly spicy and mildly numbing, slight sesame flavor. String beans 8/10: wok hei flavor and savory. Could have had more garlic flavor and crispier texture of the beans. Din tai fung beans are still #1 for me! Mini lamb skewer 7/10: strong cumin flavor which I liked. The lamb was a bit dry/lean, could've used some pieces with more fat Boiled fish in pickled vegetable 8/10: fish cooked well, flaky and soft. Sour soup was balanced. Vermicelli inside Fried rice 9/10: yummy wok hei flavor Not included in Dine LA deal: Shredded potato 7.5/10: good texture of the potato, not overcooked or undercooked. We ordered the sour/vinegar flavor, it came out smelling vinegary, but didn't have much vinegar taste, mostly spicy. Definitely Sichuan style leaning Sweet potato taro ball dessert 10/10: free dessert if you follow them on Instagram and DM them (see menu photo I posted). Crispy outside which stayed crispy even as it cooled down. Sweet potato and taro were cooked well, smooth, and strong in flavor, not artificial. Not too sweet. Had a mochi like texture Overall a great deal, generous portions. Definitely could feed 3-4 people for the Dine LA. Free parking structure behind. Would definitely come back for Dine LA if they offer new dishes on the deal!

We'd been talking about getting Chinese food, and he picked Xiang La Hui, his go-to spot for classic Sichuan. I'd never been before, and was more than happy to try a new spot in the SGV. We met up at noon and stayed until the restaurant wrapped up lunch service and gently pushed us out the door, sometime around 2:30. The space was nice, instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra. It was pretty quiet the whole time, a good place for a leisurely catch-up. Service was fast and polite, though the combination of QR code ordering and poor Verizon service was a bummer. I had to cross the dining room to take down the wifi password posted on the opposite wall. We ordered a sizable spread for two people: Chong Qing fried chicken, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili oil, and pea tips with garlic. Everything was delicious, most of all the Chong Qing fried chicken, crispy nibbly bits of breaded chicken stir-fried with green onion and hot pepper. I love dan dan noodles and wontons, and thought both were great, if not the best I've had in the area. The pea tips were lovely, bright green and not spicy, but abundantly flavorful. I'd love to come back to Xiang La Hui and try more of the menu. It seems like a restaurant that does everything well, and I'll keep it in mind whenever I'm craving Sichuan.

I do have a pretty high spice tolerance, though, so my experience may be different from others. My friend thought the dishes were pretty spicy, so keep that in mind if you're more sensitive to heat. The fish was super tender and soft, and honestly pretty addictive to eat. The Toothpick Lamb was pretty much the same--you just pop one in your mouth and then immediately want another.
