Since they were able to converse it wasn't a big deal but something to be aware of if no one in your party speaks Cantonese. We all ordered noodle won ton soup. Each one was different, broth, protein, or extras. Unfortunately 2 of the bowls were given to the incorrect person and this wasn't noticed until everyone had started eating. We notified the server and she did return with the add ons and different protein, unfortunately we were basically done eating by the time she returned. The parking lot is kind of small and there's a lot of stores people want to go too. But some times you get lucky because people are always coming and going. This place had two other parties when we arrived and it looked like one party had been sitting there waiting for their check for a while. First, I got the double delicacy lo mein.. but it didn't come with lo mein noodles. The noodles were also pretty bland. I ended up putting some sauce from my sisters diced beef filet. We also got a Seafood Shrimp fried rice that came out pretty bland. I also had to put a whole bunch of hot sauce in it. Before anyone comes for me, my parents who thinks everything is salty, also said it was bland LOL My sister got a French Style diced beef filet which was probably the best dish we got.. but they took almost 10 minutes to take our order and it was past the 6 pm time that they serve with steam rice so we had to order an extra side of rice... Came here for dinner on Sunday night and there was no wait. The Chinese BBQ here is legit. I love the roast duck and the roast pork best. Very good flavor, crispy skin. We got the dumpling noodle soup, which was pretty decent. The garlic stir-fry ong choy needed a bit more garlic and the Mongolian beef was okay. This visit was no different...our family came hungry and craving food that feels like home. We ordered two of the #11 Three Delicacies, choosing BBQ pork, BBQ intestine, and duck, along with another plate of duck, sausage, and crispy pork (with the additional $3 charge). To round things out, we also ordered walnut shrimp, deep-fried sole fish, and of course, a bowl of rice...just in case. When the order came out, I noticed the intestine had been replaced with sausage. I let the waitress know, and she immediately checked and came back to explain they were out of intestine (around 7 p.m. on a Friday night...understandable). She kindly asked if I was okay with sausage or wanted to substitute another meat. Honestly, I really wanted the intestine... but I do love their sausage, so no harm done in the end. The food itself hit the spot. The roasted duck was flavorful and comforting as always, the BBQ meats were satisfying, the walnut shrimp was crispy and sweet, and the fried sole fish was a solid addition to the table. Most importantly, the kids were happy and the parents were happy...which says a lot. That said, I can't help but miss the olden days, when it felt like there was more meat than rice. I also miss that deep sense of familiarity from when I was a little girl, sitting in a booth with my mom and siblings, sharing plates and memories. Things change, but the nostalgia still lingers. Started off with the minced beef with fried egg over rice but the sauce had way too much cornstarch. The sauce was very sticky and wouldn't slide off the spoon. The orange chicken was also on the stickier side. The chef cornstarch flurries too hard here. The honey walnut shrimp wasn't bad, but the walnuts weren't candied and was just walnuts. The deep-fried whole fish had a thick batter causing it to have a soggy layer between the batter and fish. Salt and pepper fish filet was crispy and has nice aromatics. Busy plaza and parking lot. This is typically my go-to Sam Woo since they are open early. The past couple times I've come, the sweet auntie working the cashier, Tammy, has been so warm, welcoming and attentive. She speaks multiple languages, and makes sure all of her guests are properly taken care of. Her positive customer service compelled me to write this review, since it isn't common for the area. I always stop by early in the morning to pick up the bbq meats, and she makes sure to handle with care as if it were for herself. I loved San Woo when they had one in Rowland Heights Then it closed. This is the first time I try at this place. First of all, the restaurant is clean, well lit and moderately spacious. They closed off about 25% of the area and use it as storage. Service is great. Friendly, efficient and helpful. Foods are almost the same as the other Sam Woo. But not as complete. I was looking for MEI CAI KOU ROU - STEAMED PORK BELLY W/ PRESERVED VEGETABLES ; they do not have it. Fried oysters, they do not have it too. The one that they do have, all taste delicious. It's been quite a long time since I've been to Sam Woo. This is my first time coming to this location. I had a large party (9) and didn't make reservations ahead of time. Luckily, this place did not need reservations. They have a quick takeout section on the side and dine in on the other side. We got here around 6pm Sunday, and there weren't really customers dining in. The pace did picked up while we were there though. The food came out delicious. The presentation was good, and the quality was good. The portion of the food seems a bit small. We did order a lot of dishes, so we were full at the end. My favorite dish was probably the roast pork, fish, and the green beans. Honestly, I enjoyed all the dishes. Service was quick. They have their own parking lot. The ambiance was good too. When i came here about 6 months ago. I came with my family. The sampan style porridge was good, rich in rice and seafood content. Today 2/27/2026 the sampan porridge was terrible. The porridge was diluted with much water, not much soft rice content, mostly diluted with lots of water; seafood was minimal. I asked the waitress why. Instead of listening to acknowledge my complain, She gave me the ridiculous answer that if i dish out the porridge into a small bowl it would not be diluted. Eating the porridge as presented in a big bowl will give me the sensation of diluted porridge. What a bunch of horse manure explanation. When it's diluted it doesn't matter what size bowl one uses, it still is diluted. Not recommend this restaurant until change is implemented. read more

Wow - this was the best HK style wonton noodle soup I have ever had in the US. I've searched everywhere for the taste approximating those I had in Hong Kong and this is the closest I've found! The wontons were so fresh - the shrimp literally bounces when you take a bite - and the wrapper is thin with a delicate tail that requires eating, I can't bear to discard it even though it is pure carbs...the burst of sesame flavor, the piping hot flavorful broth, the perfectly toothsome al dente noodles that I also couldn't stop eating. I would come back just for this own dish alone!! You get about six golf ball sized wontons, one piece of steamed A choy and a perfect portion of those delicious noodles. The old Sam woo at the 99 ranch market closed down. Now there's this one by the McDonald's. Parking is quite a struggle. All free parking but shared with other businesses in the plaza. No photos allowed but I took one before I saw the sign. Have been visiting this place frequently to satisfy my meat cravings. A whole salt or soy sauce chicken is $27, half is $14.50. Bbq pork is $14.99/lb plus tax. You can ask them to choose a slice with more or less fat. I love watching their chopping skills, so satisfying. I really like eating crunchy mildly spicy intestines. Don't let its star rating fool you. This is one of the best Sam woo's out there. The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is always great, it's nice and clean and the food is always solid. Not to mention recently their dining area reopened since Covid. I've been here before and during Covid' and now after. The bbq is always fresh and you really can't go wrong getting Chinese bbq here. Even through they have a really big menu the bbq is still the best, roast duck, char Siu and roast pork are all winners and the price is still decent. While out here visiting family, we decided to try this place for HK breakfast at the recommendation of a family member. Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted by our waitress and seated. This is a small-medium sized location that offers freshly cooked Chinese bbq items like duck, pork, etc. for takeout. The place was clean and fairly empty as they just opened. But it did fill up quickly with customers. We each opted for the different kinds of congee/porridge. I had the chicken porridge and each order comes with 1/2 of a Chinese donut, noodle dish, rice noodle with special sauce (generally peanut sauce & hoisin sauce) and a drink of your choice. I only came here for the deli. Picked up some roast pork belly and cuttlefish. The cuttlefish had a nice texture, but didn't have much flavor to it. Would have been nice if they added some of the char siu gravy on top. The roast pork belly was really good. No bones to deal with and skin nice and crispy. I noticed hint of sweetness on the skin. Not sure if they brushed it with sugar water or not. I found it to be a little too salty, but goes well if you are eating rice with it. I prefer this location as it's usually the area I am in when I am in the SGV. I did notice that they close the restaurant after lunch until dinner time. Kind of a shame, I wished they were open all day.
