Kim is my go-to tattoo artist! From hooking me up with a beautiful orchid when I was 21 to a custom rose on my forearm as a 24 year old, I always walk away happy. She is quick to respond either via text or social media. She makes sure that you're completely happy with your piece before she starts, and she is great company for the long sessions. What I love most about Kim is that she really cares about her work. When I came in for my forearm tattoo, I asked her for a little touch up on my orchid because the border lines started to fade. I had the pleasure to get tatted by Kim. She is a great artist that really gets what you want. When I first contacted her, one of the very first things she asked me was "what does this tattoo mean to you?" It's a pretty basic question that none of the other tattoo artists had asked me before. She wanted to understand and experience through my words what the tattoo meant to me. I think that made our client/artist relationship successful. About my tattoo: It's the castle from Howl's Moving Castle. I always wanted to have the castle tatted. Deep down, I knew why I wanted it but I had never verbalize it until Kim asked me why the tattoo. I looked at about 10 artists that told me they could do it but there portafolio did not say so. My friend had just gotten a tat from Kim and I was impressed by the detail on my friend's tattoo. I looked Kim up and saw her portafolio. I was convinced. 8 hours later, the castle became part of my arm. I have gotten another small tattoo from Kim since then. So did a family member. My wife will probably get a tattoo from Kim as well. This is the second time I've gone to Kim, and there's a reason why. She makes the atmosphere chill and she doesn't rush you, unlike some places telling you they need to ink you up before their next appointment comes in. She sits next to you and talks to you about the details of something you want specifically done on your body. She's helpful with suggestions on placements, if you're undecided on where or how your tat should be placed. She talks with you until the entire process is done -- It honestly makes the time go by a lot faster and it doesn't seem like you're getting inked up at all. What struck me was that she contacted me a day after to see how the healing process was going. Thumbs up on the customer service and her ongoing relationships with her clients. Kim is a unique artist that takes the time to educate her clients. She has her own style which never fails to show through whatever type of piece she is doing, so much to the point that year after year.... I have people compliment my work continuously.... but they usually are not complimenting any individual tattoo.... but rather how well they all mesh together. My boyfriends mother commented last week that my tattoos look" As if an artists put them together, they don't look hokey!" - this coming from a 50 year old lady with presumably no tattoos. Hands down my favorite artist in San Diego, Ca. She is professional, her aura is mad cool, and this woman is truly gifted! The establishment is clean and easy to find as well. Such a beautiful human being inside and I felt the pricing was fair. I've definitely been trying to find time in my crazy schedule to make it back to her! I've introduced my roommate to her and she loves her and her work! Something you should know is she doesn't do any of the same tats, which means you leave with your own personal tat, and there is nothing or no one else out there with your tat, at least not done by her. I felt that was a good thing to know because that made my tat that more special. She isn't heavy handle with the needle and she makes sure you are good throughout the session especially if you are a first timer. I forgot about how to take care of my tat after the fact and she was quick in hitting me back to remind me what to do and she was mad cool throughout the whole process from getting the tat from the tat healing. So I met Kim through a friend while she was visiting Mississippi. I had already seen a lot of her work a few months before she showed up down here, so I already knew I wanted work done by her.She recently stuck me with a badass skull on my knee. I was expecting excruciating pain, but Kim has a soft touch and a lot of skills. After she was done the tattoo on my knee instantly became my favorite.
