    Bbq duck egg noodle
    Audrey E.

I was craving some Chinese food so decided to revisit this local spot. The egg noodle bbq duck is my go to. Tasty fresh noodles drizzle in their delicious sauce. The duck is always fresh, well seasoned and tasty. Service is always impeccable, very friendly, and tentative staff members. Ambiance is great, lots of seating and tables.

I'm giving a generous 3 star. The food is tasty but the portions are small. Talk about shrinkflation. I was shocked the chow mein was such a puny portion. Aren't noodles supposed to be a plentiful dish? In addition to the small chow mein, I ordered the "lunch special" green beans. It was delicious but barely enough for one person. Definitely not a shareable meal. Go for the full entree. Lunch special is not special. I'm all for helping a small business. But if you're going to charge high prices, at least reflect that with the portions. I think the best value is supposed to be the noodle soup but unfortunately I must have chose poorly.

Did a take out order for full Roast duck: dry, no star anise aroma smell, use the general sweet and sour sauce for duck so there was no special duck sauce. House fried rice: hmm kinda bland and sticky, idk how to describe it. Just edible. Fried intestine: very chewy rubbery, not crispy by the time i got home. Service was fast and friendly but food taste was very off for me.

For some of the best, if not the best Chinese food in all of Artesia that has the most delicious roast duck and egg noodle soup, come to Kim Tar Restaurant and you will be full & happy. We have been to Kim Tar for many years especially being that this restaurant has been in business for well over 30 years and has such consistency in flavor, that I have never had a bad tasting dish, never disappoints. The appetizer of 1/4 roast duck is delicious and juicy, so flavorful with the right amount of salt. The house wonton and egg noodle soup is a must especially since it is featured as the main photo on the menu. The egg noodles are chewy and fresh, the wontons have a meat filling that I could eat without any need for a sauce or condiment, and the broth with the garlicky flavor is what culminates this soup into a taste awakening, so good! The fish with its battered texture has a nice crunch and not too messy. The Mongolian beef is soft and my son loves it! The house fried rice is a great combination of all the meats. So go to Kim Tar either for dine in or to go and don't forget to order the duck which can be a meal on its own, definitely not just appetizer status, well worth every nostalgic bite!

Their food is amazing. Even if you were to get leftovers, the food is amazing even when you reheat it. I would definitely come back here for some duck. We got the to go order for duck and pork belly and it was delicious. Would recommend. Pork belly was also fire.

It's a hit or miss sometimes at this place. Once when I ordered the duck and the crispy pork, it was good then most recently I ordered salt and pepper, pork chops, and orange chicken and it was OK. Service was fine. There isn't much of an ambience there. It's a small restaurant.

My go-to for a noodle fix. Roast duck with egg and rice noodle soup. Be sure to add some of their chili oil!

Been coming here for years. This time, craved for fried intestines. Ordered to go. As always, crispy and tasty. Fast service and staff is friendly. Place is clean and ample parking.

I try wanton noodles soup. It's very good.

I did order combination roast pork and roast duck and something else. They come out too much salt on food. They are very salty we can't finish them. Seems like they been changed the way to cook. So disappointed

This place has been here for ages and is a nice quick to-go option with reasonable prices for the portions you get, but the food can be hit or miss: Char Siu - always tasty and a must have to-go Fried Pork Chops - meaty but not as crispy as I'd like it to be Singapore Noodles - a good portion and not really spicy at all, so anyone can enjoy, but very few and small shrimps are given BBQ Pork Fried Rice - also a nice sized portion but could maybe use more flavor Filet Mignon - Very flavorful with a few chewy pieces here and there

Visited this spot recently with my mom. It's a Chinese mom-and-pop restaurant that truly hits home for me! The flavors are so authentic and comforting, and I keep finding myself craving their food. The fried intestines are perfectly crispy, and the roasted duck egg noodle soup is absolutely incredible. The duck is so flavorful--it's the kind of dish that lingers in your mind long after you've finished eating. If you're looking for a spot with amazing food that feels like home, this is it!

Duck and wonton egg noodle soup

Highly satisfied after eating here. This little restaurant/take out is on the corner of a not so eye-pleasing strip mall but don't let the outside deter you from getting some authentic Chinese bbq and dishes. I was really craving some egg noodle soup and there was actually quite a bit of options! Ended up with the duck and wonton egg noodle soup which was better than I expected. Not too salty, generous with both the duck and noodles, and not outrageously expensive. also ordered the fish hot pot which came with tons of vegetables, plenty of fish fillet and a pretty good gravy. Growing up in SGV, I always had an abundance of places to go to but in living in OC, I find these places harder to come by. I'm glad I found this little shop and I'll definitely come back.

Throwback to when dine-in Chinese food was king!…read more There's something special about walking into a place that reminds you of childhood, and this spot absolutely delivers. The service is consistently exceptional, but what keeps bringing me back are the generous family portions, quality food, and incredible value. For a date night, we ordered: Family Orange Chicken Family Beef & Broccoli Fried Rice Steamed Rice 1 Egg Roll 2 Fried Shrimp Hot Tea 2 Sprites Total: $33. With the cost of everything going up these days, finding a place where you can enjoy a great meal, leave satisfied, and not feel like you just emptied your wallet is becoming increasingly rare. And the portions? Huge. We actually had enough left over for lunch the next day, which makes that $33 feel like an even better deal. For me, this is what good neighborhood Chinese food should be: great service, generous portions, quality food, reasonable prices, and that nostalgic feeling that takes you right back to being a kid. The fried rice is fresh, unlike the other place where its texture and taste was that of two day old left overs. We love their broccoli beef and orange chicken as well. I also like to get the cream cheese wontons but it's disappointing when they forget to include the sweet and sour sauce with it. I think I'll be skipping that add on bc they never seem to include it anymore. Hence the 4/5 stars.

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. I will definitely be ordering out or coming in for Chinese because that reminded of many other places that put out fantastic dishes.
