Such a lovely birthday dinner here over the weekend. Seriously everything we ordered was delicious!…read moreWe loved everything. Our service was great. The restaurant is decided into a lower and upper dining room. The lower dining room is for if you plan to order off the main menu. The upstairs dining room is if you plan to do the "Korean bbq" where you cook on a gas wok directly at your table! So fun! We opted for the upstairs dining room (make a reservation) for my birthday celebration. You are still able to order things off the main menu as well even if you plan to do the Korean bbq option. We tried their duck skewer and wings as an appetizer. Both were delicious! The duck was tender and savory. The wings were spicy and super unique! For dinner we did the Korean bbq where we cooked THE BEST wagyu filet mignon and fresh scallops on our personal table wok! This is such a fun date night. They give you a bunch of veggies and traditional Japanese sides to pair your meats with, including an array of homemade sauces - however, the meat/seafood was so good on its own we didn't even want to tamper the meat with the sauces! Cocktails were tasty too! You really can't go wrong with this place. Oh! And did I mention they gave me a delicious dessert for my birthday and sang happy birthday to me (:

I started with the mom's egg rolls (pork, mushrooms, carrots, noodles, chili lime sausage, and taro). They were crisp and delish. I hope this doesn't make a fool of me, but the ingredients tasted truly fresh, including the veggies. The carrots even had a little crunch to them! I had the bibimbap, made with marinated steak, egg, rice, gochujang sauce, pickled veggies, topped with a runny egg. A hot, savory, sexy dish that I am going to try again when I return. I had their fries too, which were hot and crispy and so well seasoned. They also have grilled meat skewers, Korean BBQ (brisket, short rib, NY strip, filet mignon, wagyu, etc), seafood (catch of the day, trout, scallops, lobster). They also have a great cocktail program. I had the toreador (don Julio tequila, apricot, fresh lime), blood orange martini (absolut peach, blood orange, cranberry, citrus), and the sazerac. All of the drinks were well made and worth the price and then some (13-18 dollars). Can't wait to try some more! They also have a Korean inspired section with cocktails that feature jasmine infused soju, barley, pear, coconut, lemongrass, ginger. Olivia was my server and she did a great job.

You get to customize your soup options with everything from broth, noodles, protein and toppings. And they had something for everyone and were able to accommodate my very specific food preferences and my boyfriend who eats anything. Anthia took the time to add all my allergy concerns into the ticket and helped us through the ordering process as it was my first time here. She was great, and at the ready with refills for our soft drink. The food itself was delicious. We did the edamame and two build your own ramen bowls. My fried tofu was the perfect texture and didn't get soggy sitting in the broth. The flavors were good and they had extra spices available if you wanted to amp up the flavor a little more. Would definitely go again. They do have a bit of a "nerdy" atmosphere with anime on the TVs and some trading cards available. And it gives the street market kind of vibe with the seating. They are an order at the counter establishment, so nice and casual.

The following review: Service - An employee by the name of Colin, who helped me at the register and take my order was very friendly, welcoming, and very patient with me. He was able to explain things to me on the menu while I was trying to decide on things. Food - I ordered, a bowl of rice, gyoza, chicken karaage, a tonkatsu ramen with char siu. Everything was well cooked, tasted great, the gyoza and chicken was nice hot and crispy. Ambiance - I'm not really an anime person but I appreciate the overall idea and concept. I thought it was pretty cool with the Batman at the front and Pokemon cards for sale.

I always get the Spicy Lemongrass Noodles (baseline usually not very spicy- you can add table side spices to your liking). They vary a little year to year but I always enjoy them. Cold air inside, waters stayed full, but it can be fairly noisy depending who you're sat next to and how busy the place is. Tables can be a bit tight for a couple as you'll only get a 2 top (they get busy and need to save the larger tables for bigger parties). We were able to order before the 10 top next to us, so our food came out super fast! (Yay!!) Could use two bathrooms though, the one they have is large but when they are packed it can be quite a wait. Lots of metered street parking on Broughton and nearby streets. We'll be back again!

Makes it fun to try dishes from different locations, especially for those unfamiliar with Asian cuisine. Very pricey menu. Pad Thai 2.5/5 could have had way more flavor and had zero spice, and they didn't ask if we wanted a spice level at all. Flavor came out once chili sauce was added. Red spicy noodles were spicy and yummy! 5 spice BBQ pork plate was super flavorful, loved this dish! Lychee sake martini just tasted like lychee juice which was great. They also add in 2 lychees to eat/garnish! A good spot, nothing to write home about. Probably wouldn't come back, there was nothing wrong with the place, just nothing exceptional.

This place is owned by the group that also owns places such as Sunday Sunday and Flying Monk Noodle House (both also equally and amazingly fantastic). The service was impeccable this go around and I really wished I caught the server's name but, alas, I didn't. I do remember the server wearing a really cool Levi and Strauss belt buckle (so if anyone from the restaurant reads this please give this individual kudos). I will say with the way customer service can be these days it truly was a breath of fresh air. We started out with the hamachi sushi maki style. SUPERB! The fish was so fresh and delicious. I ordered the hamachi poke bowl (I obviously like yellowtail ) I really need everyone to know how fresh this place is. We also had the Laos Lemongrass which was pork belly with rice, kimchi and some veggies. It also came with a curry sauce which was absolutely yummy with the pork. I also really like their iced tea. It tastes like Thai tea but without all of the sugar. Very aromatic. If you are ever in Savannah, this is the place to go. Cute atmosphere, fantastic service and extraordinary food.

The inside is gorgeous...very green, modern, and aesthetic without feeling overdone. Jane was amazing and super knowledgeable about the menu. She helped guide us through a few options and everything she recommended was so fresh and flavorful. Between the atmosphere, cocktails, and fresh sushi, this place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The HVAC unit drips a bit, we changed seats a few times to avoid it. The cornbread loaf is yummy. Great flavors and a little crispy. I'd love to see something down with the cornbread (I'm sure there's something on the menu), the flavors would go well with a main dish! I ordered the southern Seoul blt and my husband ordered the shrimp and grits. Both had so much flavor! I will say, the meal was very heavy, so plan accordingly. My lavender gin cocktail wasn't my favorite, there was too much lavender in it - and that mixed with the heavy meal was too much on my stomach. The shrimp and grits were so good! Definitely one of the best in the city, there's only one other that my husband and I think is on par with this one. His old fashioned was pretty good as well. We'd definitely come back, the food is so good and the prices are fair. This is a great addition to the area, bringing in some different flavors.

I am writing to share feedback regarding a disappointing experience I had at your establishment…read more While Ashley provided excellent service when taking our order, the rest of the visit was very off-putting. The pizza itself was dry and lacked sufficient tomato sauce, resulting in a very bland product that was essentially plain dough and cheese More importantly, I had a negative encounter with a server named Julia. When I requested a knife from Julie at the register, she informed me she would bring it to the table but failed to do so. Upon following up with Ashley, I was provided one immediately from the same location where Julie had been standing. When I later addressed the delay with Julia, she responded snarkily, stating "well you didn't order from me and you're not my table so I don't have to get you a knife. I said if you work here and I ask for a knife, if you feel you don't want to get it for me, then as an employee, you get whomever rang me up to assist me but either way, I walked to the cash register and asked for a knife and she could have easily reached under the shelf and handed me a knife just as Ashley did. I attempted to speak with the manager on duty, Justin, but he was busy at the bar. While I was waiting to speak with Justin, Julia brushed past me touching the spoon that was in my hand. After a bit of time passed by, I chose to leave rather than continue waiting. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving both the food quality and the service standards to ensure a better experience for future patrons at your restaurant.

Asia Market (AM) is one of a handful of Asian grocery stores in Savannah and surrounding areas, but…read moremore specifically, only one of two stores that focuses on Korean specialty items. I learned this early on when we first moved to the area, because priorities, People! I need to know where I can get my Korean goods! - Parking - Center lot. Located in a strip mall, the parking is limited and a little tight in front of the store, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's free parking. - Vibe - It's a tiny store. I mean, like 2 aisles tiny. So, if you can't handle small spaces, be warned. However, the owner has made good use of every inch of real estate in there, but organized. Reminds me of the way small biz owners set up their small spaces in markets in Korea. No wasting any space here. Think of it as Aldi in terms of product selection as compared to a Kroger. Smaller, easier to navigate and I can get all my basics. - TLC - I always see the same Ajjumma (Ma'am in Korean). She is the owner, I'm sure. She's always really sweet, gives service with a smile and when my kids are with me, she always gives them a little complimentary Rice Cracker snack packet. They clearly love her, LOL! - Goods - The prices are lower at AM between the two Korean grocery stores, even though it's the smaller store. Those two aisles are stocked with the basics and I can get everything I need to cook my Korean meals, from Gochujang (Hot Red Pepper Paste) to Japchae noods (sweet potato starch noods). I find some of my childhood treats too like Choco-Pie, Go-So-Mi Crackers (a must try if you don't know what these are!) and Banana Oo-You (Milk) which are super expensive, but I think it's just the price of importing them. My husband wasn't really too happy that I bought 6 juice box sizes of Banana Milk for $9, but hey, $9 is worth it for the walk down memory lane for a few minutes! On the second aisle, the freezer and fridges line the wall and I buy mostly all of my frozen and refrigerated items there, things I can't get online, like dumplings, oval rice cakes, both things I needed to make Ddukmanduguk (Dumpling Rice Cake soup) that Korean typically eat on Lunar New Year, which was the reason for my recent visit. The kimchi they sell is from Atlanta and it's pretty decent. For one of those big plastic containers (like when you get Pho broth packed to go, maybe a pint size?), it's about $8? Not bad considering Kimchi is a PITA to make. The good news is, every time I buy one, it's in the beginning stages which is the stage I really don't like, but it's an indication that it was made and delivered to the store recently. I got the Green Plum juice on my recent visit and I thought it was pretty tasty! I got this as an exchange for the Jeju Clementine juice I originally purchased because it had just expired. - Heads Up - Pro tip - if you see Hangul (Korean alphabet) on the store sign, it's most likely Korean owned, which probably means it's a Korean specific grocery store. I know some people were not too happy about the store name, but hey, there is Kimchi sold at big chain grocery stores and I wouldn't call it Kimchi. Know what I mean? If I plan ahead, I usually place my non-perishable order online with a well known Korean grocery store in the North East, but this is the place I go for all my last minute needs and all the perishable stuff. It won't have everything in 10 different flavors, but it should get you the basics! Note to self for future: Try the Jeju Clementine Juice and the Fish Waffle Red Bean Ice Cream Sandwich!
