Very fresh and flavorful. All made by a sole Korean gentlemen, who took over the place when the original folks who ran it retired. I must say the tradition is being carried on very well. My daughter and I both went Beef Bulgogi, and I was very glad it wasn't too sweet, rather than some Americanized ones from other Korean places in our area. Ban Chan was nice, with perfect portions to not have to ask for more. Their Kimbap is huge, as well, and we wound up taking half home. The pan-fried Mandu was not as lucky, because they were all greedily devoured at the table. Our waitress was very nice--not Korean--but knew the menu very well. We were the first people in there when they opened, and by the time we were done every table was taken.

Food is great! I love bulgogi, seafood pancake. The hygienic conditions are something to improve. I brought my mom there and she did not approve. Found food remains or black dots on cups.

I'm a Korean guy from California, the land where Korean restaurants flow like salmon of Capistrano. I'm here for a week at Gonzaga for a conference. After 4 days of sandwiches and pizza and burgers, my DNA was disturbed and badly craving some Korean food. I did a quick Google search and this was the only legit looking Korean restaurant in the area. I thought to myself, it's probably not going to be very good but I'll give it a try. It was surprisingly delicious. As soon as I walked in, I knew this place was legit by the decor and the family running the restaurant. The daughter created me and then she hollered in Korean to her parents. "We've got a party of one!" The banchan was excellent and the soondooboo was delicious. They had gourmet seafood inside, clams, prawns, squid. Loved it. 잘 먹었습니다! I ate well thank you!

Small mom and pop shop, owned by a couple for 22 years. The only workers are family members, very humble beginnings. Super friendly staff. For large groups call ahead. We were able to seat 6 with a 20 min wait. We loved the appetizers and the bulgogi. Super fresh vegetables and the kimchi was great with the purple rice! I could easily see why people say this is the best place in Spokane!

It's not very often you go to a place at 3pm and every table is full, but that is exactly what we witnessed today at Kim's Korean. And I can see why!! The food was phenomenal. Literally no words. I couldn't even tell you a favorite because it was all so good. I forgot to take photos of everything because I was too busy salivating and munching on it. Everything was so fresh and well made. The portions were generous. Seriously one of the best meals I've had all year. We will be back.

Great Korean food away from Korea. Food was excellent and service was great!! We had Kalbi, meat jun, kimbap, and japjae.

Food was good, but the service does take some time. There's only one person serving the tables and it took a loooong time to get our food. The banchan was tasty... refills are $1 each and don't expect the same portion size... felt like it was less. Korean herbal tea is not the same as Korean tea. I was not a fan and next time will order green tea. Ordered the galbi. Good portion but the meat was also fatty. Purple rice is always great. They only do takeout after 7 pm and if the tables are full she will give you the choice of waiting or leaving. Good spot and I'll probably come back.

Reasonably priced and delicious home style cooking! The staff is friendly. I loved their kimbap and was happy to get them with purple rice. The kimbap appetizer is enough for a full meal. It was nice to have a healthy option to eat in the area. I appreciate all the yummy and authentic side dishes. I loved it so much that I ended up going back 3 times in the week which is unlike me. The place is cozy and can get a little crowded. But the food is worth the wait and the price.

This place feels like I was invited to have dinner with a Korean family in their home. Delicious and pleasant meal that had me and my stomach happy. The closest to authentic Korean food in all of Washington. Had very high expectations of this place and was very surprised to have my expectation blown away. Will definitely consider coming back to Spokane just to eat here. read more

Best traditional korean food in town! The menu is limited to just the staples, so a good spot if youre looking for some classic korean dishes. We got the seafood pajeon pancake ($13), seafood soondubu spicy tofu stew ($16), and galbitang short rib broth w noodles ($16). The banchan side dishes were numerous and of the old school variety, like bean sprouts and cucumber kimchi, which I personally love (because they taste fresh and are healthy). Everything had that home style cooking feel to it, that is, the taste reminded me of the kind of food you get in a ktown. Our waitress was a friendly lady who was very attentive despite how busy she was w the other customers. There are about eight tables and the customers just kept coming in for dine in and take out. Cant wait to come back and try the rest of what they have to offer! read more

The person who sat us, the daughter was rude and condescending. Luckily she left halfway through our meal and Kim's wife took care of us. Like the other reviews, the inside is not inviting and dingy. But the Meat Jeon was delicious! I tried my husbands bulgogi and wasn't impressed. Side were good and tasted as expected. For Spokane, this is the best Korean place in town hands down. read more

The food is fantastic but the restaurant itself is very small. We had the Yakasobi, Bulgogi and an order of Kimbap. The purple rice is something new for me. I was in Korea from 97-98 and never saw it but it great. Great color for the meal and tastes good too. Finished everything last night for dinner after a full lunch. The lady was not the friendliest but she was fast. read more

I ordered the spicy dwaeji galbi. One of the worst meals I've ever had. I took a few bites and threw it out. It was disgusting. Couldn't even chew the meat. The rice was a soggy blob. Seems like many non-Koreans are rating this place high. If you've had Korean food in Seoul or NYC, you'll know this place is terrible. read more

This is a quaint little restaurant with a cute decore. The seats all have little knit pads on them. The food was fresh and hot when it is served. The Banchan is really good and fresh with a good variety to fill your palette. Service is a bit slow. Sad, I would have liked a little more Banchan to go with my rice. All in all, it's a clean place to have a good Korean dish. read more

Small Korean restaurant on the main drag of Division Street. Seats between 26 to 28 people total. Mama, Dad & daughter were working the day we went in. They have appetizers, lunch dishes & dinner meals. We went for the lunch combo of bulgogi & mandoo. It's served with purple rice. I forgot to ask what type it is, dang it! It was filling & a real change of pace! Their green tea is mild, which I love! Before the lunch combo arrived, we were given side dishes of tempura carrots, sweet potatoes, marinated bean sprouts, kim Chee (spicy!), tofu (yum!), Takuan (turnip), cucumbers, & Korean pancake eggs. Soooo good! Mama knows her spices, obviously. The lunch combo comes with enough bulgogi for two! Always love my mandoo, also. We ate famously for $22.00 for two! Not a bad deal, at all. Also, took home a small box of the bulgogi as leftovers! We'll be back, no doubt. Parking is a challenge. Put your car at Zip's. Get your coffee, on the way out, at Dutch Bros. read more

If you order two side dishes to go they will "combine" them together in one box but it will only be enough for one person so there isn't enough for two people. This has been done on several occasions. If you ask for a different side dish they will charge you $5 more without telling you. The food is good but my experience when ordering to go has been negative, I recommend only eating inside the restaurant the experience is much better. The interior of the restaurant could use a touch up it's very homey which is nice but crammed. read more

Mediocre Korean restaurant that is located in a convenient location (near downtown). The restaurant is fairly small, but you get a full attention from the owner lady. The service was pretty decent (only one server) and inside is kinda cute lol it reminds me of a small Korean restaurant in Korea. Food was just all-right though. It tasted much like MSG and their price is pretty high compared to other Korean restaurants in Spokane. After trying House of Seoul (airway height) and Kinja (north), I would say this place is just average! read more

Authentic, delicious family fun restaurant in a cozy space. Prices are great and food tastes great! You also get many side dishes which are all tasty. Got the japchae, bibimbap, soondubu. Soondubu was a tad spicy but very tasty. All the other dishes were solid, authentic. Highly recommend this spot in Spokane! read more

I've been here a lot and I think it's just great! The place is ran by a family. Sometimes the daughter comes to help serve. The food always comes with ban chan (little side dishes). I'm a huge fan of their (dolsot) bibimbap! It comes in a stone bowl so it's hot and makes the rice crispy on the bottom. The rice is purple from beans. It also has cucumbers, carrots, beets, seaweed, kale, onions, beansprouts, meat and an egg. So good! Best bibimbap in town I think! The other dish I ordered a lot is the soondubu jiggae. It's a spicy tofu soup and that particular one has seafood. Downsides - parking is very limited so you may have to park next door at the Zip's and sometimes they're crazy packed. read more

I liked this restaurant a lot. Kimchi is spicy and the ox tail soup was so good! I really liked all the side dishes. My favorite was the purple rice. I had never eaten it before and it was sweet, sticky, and so good. We did wait for 15-20 minutes with no water or menu when we got there so we were about to leave but that's good we didn't! I took Kimchi home. $10 for a big tab if Kimchi is a great price. I will go back for more! read more

I love having Kim's. Food is always fantastic, even after moving away and back after 2 years. My two year old had his first taste and forgot all about his favorite fruit(watermelon). Hubby got the flat fish and it just peels away from the bone and is a delight to eat. Bulgogi is tasty as ever. Mama Kim and family always have the best service even on busy days, everyone is friendly and welcoming. Love how homey the inside is, I always feel great coming in and leaving. read more

Wow!! I have missed Korean food since living in HI a few years ago. I found Kim's through a search on Yelp and I'm SO glad I checked it out. Delicious!! I thought I'd have bibimpop because it's a favorite but instead I was tempted by the description to order the spicy pork stir fry with kimchee. Swoon! So wonderful! Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice--just couldn't be better. And all the sides were excellent. I ate everything but a little bit of the generous helping of rice. And I walked away humming a happy tummy tune! :-). I'll be back regularly! read more

I heard so many good things about this place and I love Korean food. We were sat but it took a long time to take our order, a long time to get our food, a long time to get refills, and a long time to check out. While there are a lot of typical Korean dishes, they do not taste very authentic and they are expensive. read more

I'm very picky and think most of the Asian food in Spokane is garbage but this place is outstanding! I've eaten Korean food in NY and LA and this place is just as good. Sizzling platters of delicious, fresh made food. Highly highly recommend. read more

The food and environment were great. We felt right at home. I ordered the jap-chae, Momma ordered the mandooguk and Baby ordered the chicken yakisoba. We had no problem finishing everything. The family that owns/operates the business were very hospitable and service was excellent. We will be back. read more

We heard so many great things about Kim's from co-workers but when we got there it was a disappointment. The presentation of their sides were good but the taste was bland aside from the kimchi. We ordered the mackerel and Galbi. The mackerel was very small in size and the Glabi was mostly fat. The bill came and my girlfriend noticed they overcharged her. 83.13 dollars for 2 plates was not reasonable. The overcharge was about 43 dollars, and for whatever reason the waitress blamed it on the register with no compensation for the overcharge. I recommend going to House of Seoul on Airway Heights for KBBQ. read more

This tiny restaurant packs a major flavor punch. The kimchi soup with pork was my favorite. We also had the pork spare ribs, rice cake/pork dumpling soup, and barley tea. I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat more. read more

My husband and I have driven by this place countless times. I'm kicking myself for never having stopped there sooner. After eating lunch there a couple days ago, its now one of my favorite spots in Spokane. Great mom and pop business and wonderful food. I left fat and happy. read more

But I'm saying, you can't expect to serve "ready made meals" that have allegedly been sitting for hours in the pot. Then expect your customers to pay full price. When I pay restaurant prices, I expect for a restaurant to cook up the meal, not to be a fast food experience. I paid almost $25 for that meal and it was no more than a fast food entrée. And it was stale.

I decided to order the Pork Katsu curry with rice which came out to ~$20ish. The spice level was pretty mild, but the flavour was spot-on. It was cooked well, seasoned well, was not oversalted, and the balance of the dish was impeccable. The rice went great with the dish, as it should. Definitely not Coco's Curry, or anything you would expect to get in Japan, and no add-ons or anything special, so you cannot just add cutlets or potatoes like you normally would be able to at a Japanese Curry place. But this was obviously a ramen place so as long as the dish tastes good, there is nothing to complain about...which is exactly what I experienced. Service was very friendly, and ambiance was just what you would expect. I cannot comment on the ramen or any of the other dishes, but definitely endorse their Pork Katsu curry with rice if you are in the mood for a Japanese-style curry.

The shop owners are a sweet older Korean couple and you can tell just how hard they work to run Kinja. They're very kind, so please be patient with the language barrier :) The set up of their shop is also very cute. There's an abundance of seating and the music they play is always fun. Last time I was in they were playing BTS's old hits. So if you're in the mood for Korean food, come check them out!

This place was amazing -- truly a little hidden gem just north of downtown. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the kind of warmth and friendliness you only find in family-run spots. The food was outstanding, the service felt genuine, and the location was easy to find with plenty of nearby parking. Honestly, I wanted to come back the next day. My wife and I ordered the Dinner Galbi (beef ribs) and the Bibimbap (rice dish). Can't recommend enough. The Galbi beef was phenomenal. Perfectly marinated and seasoned, tender all the way through, and packed with deep, homemade flavor. I've had this dish at plenty of Korean restaurants, and this one hits like something made in someone's kitchen with care and love. Each bite was soft, juicy, and bursting with umami. The Bibimbap was exactly to my liking, served with purple rice and a colorful mix of fresh, flavorful ingredients. Normally, I like to add extra condiments to punch things up, but here it didn't need a thing. Everything was balanced and delicious. It paired perfectly with the Galbi and rounded out the meal beautifully. The customer service deserves a special mention. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the kind of person you could talk to for hours. We showed him a couple of items we were considering, and instead of just pointing to the most "popular" thing on the menu, he took the time to explain the ingredients and recommended what he genuinely thought we'd enjoy. You can tell he has great relationships with his regulars, and it gives the place a real community vibe. The location is easy to get to, and when they started cooking our food, the entire place filled with the most mouthwatering aroma. The decor is simple and traditional, exactly what you'd expect from a family-run mom-and-pop shop. It's cozy, unpretentious, and feels like the kind of place where you make new friends over a hearty home-cooked meal. I can't recommend this place enough. If you love authentic Korean food and warm hospitality, this is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be coming back. read more
