Very fresh and flavorful. All made by a sole Korean gentlemen, who took over the place when the original folks who ran it retired. I must say the tradition is being carried on very well. My daughter and I both went Beef Bulgogi, and I was very glad it wasn't too sweet, rather than some Americanized ones from other Korean places in our area. Ban Chan was nice, with perfect portions to not have to ask for more. Their Kimbap is huge, as well, and we wound up taking half home. The pan-fried Mandu was not as lucky, because they were all greedily devoured at the table. Our waitress was very nice--not Korean--but knew the menu very well. We were the first people in there when they opened, and by the time we were done every table was taken.

Food is great! I love bulgogi, seafood pancake. The hygienic conditions are something to improve. I brought my mom there and she did not approve. Found food remains or black dots on cups.

I'm a Korean guy from California, the land where Korean restaurants flow like salmon of Capistrano. I'm here for a week at Gonzaga for a conference. After 4 days of sandwiches and pizza and burgers, my DNA was disturbed and badly craving some Korean food. I did a quick Google search and this was the only legit looking Korean restaurant in the area. I thought to myself, it's probably not going to be very good but I'll give it a try. It was surprisingly delicious. As soon as I walked in, I knew this place was legit by the decor and the family running the restaurant. The daughter created me and then she hollered in Korean to her parents. "We've got a party of one!" The banchan was excellent and the soondooboo was delicious. They had gourmet seafood inside, clams, prawns, squid. Loved it. 잘 먹었습니다! I ate well thank you!

Small mom and pop shop, owned by a couple for 22 years. The only workers are family members, very humble beginnings. Super friendly staff. For large groups call ahead. We were able to seat 6 with a 20 min wait. We loved the appetizers and the bulgogi. Super fresh vegetables and the kimchi was great with the purple rice! I could easily see why people say this is the best place in Spokane!

It's not very often you go to a place at 3pm and every table is full, but that is exactly what we witnessed today at Kim's Korean. And I can see why!! The food was phenomenal. Literally no words. I couldn't even tell you a favorite because it was all so good. I forgot to take photos of everything because I was too busy salivating and munching on it. Everything was so fresh and well made. The portions were generous. Seriously one of the best meals I've had all year. We will be back.

Great Korean food away from Korea. Food was excellent and service was great!! We had Kalbi, meat jun, kimbap, and japjae.

Food was good, but the service does take some time. There's only one person serving the tables and it took a loooong time to get our food. The banchan was tasty... refills are $1 each and don't expect the same portion size... felt like it was less. Korean herbal tea is not the same as Korean tea. I was not a fan and next time will order green tea. Ordered the galbi. Good portion but the meat was also fatty. Purple rice is always great. They only do takeout after 7 pm and if the tables are full she will give you the choice of waiting or leaving. Good spot and I'll probably come back.

Reasonably priced and delicious home style cooking! The staff is friendly. I loved their kimbap and was happy to get them with purple rice. The kimbap appetizer is enough for a full meal. It was nice to have a healthy option to eat in the area. I appreciate all the yummy and authentic side dishes. I loved it so much that I ended up going back 3 times in the week which is unlike me. The place is cozy and can get a little crowded. But the food is worth the wait and the price.

After our first trip to South Korea we got hooked on Korean food. We decided to look to see what local Korean food was out here in Spokane and stumbled upon Kim's. A small hole- in the wall restaurant with amazing food. The service was quick, and friendly. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. Well seasoned, sauces are flavorful, the side dishes are also really good. Spent under $40 for two people, one drink plus a healthy tip. Not bad if you ask me. I'm from out of town and will make it a point to stop in here every time I visit my father! read more

We have been meaning to try all of the Korean food restaurants in town and we finally got around to trying this place. We were very satisfied! We had the Korean pancake and bipinbop. Both were very fresh and flavorful. The side dishes and sauces were amazing! Everything was seasoned perfectly. Prices were decent too. As a fan of Korean food, I can verify that this tiny restaurant has an outsize place in my heart! The many vegetarian-friendly options make it even better. The amazing smells hit you as soon as you walk in! And the hand-crocheted chair covers add a homey feel. Staffing has always been minimal, so wait times are a bit longer. But sit back and enjoy this local favorite, grab a book from one of the shelves near the water cooler, and do some people watching! I highly recommend you start with the excellent Kimbap. Move on to a lovely noodle dish such as Japchae (tofu substitutes for almost everything). For the entre, force yourself to make the difficult decision between several spicy stews (Deonjang jjigae is amazingly hearty, and the perfect cure for congestion), or something more familiar such as Bibimbap. This will leave you with plenty of leftovers, and a happy belly! read more

The best Korean food I've ever had is in... (checks map) Spokane, WA? This hidden gem is clean, cozy, and delicious. The banchan were numerous and yummy; the Kimchi had a sweetness to it which was excellent. I had Yukgaejang and it was the best I've ever had, hands down. The broth was perfectly spicy, the carrots and cucumbers added to the taste, and the beef was lean. This family run business obvious takes pride in their delicious food and they should indeed be proud. Yum! read more

Holy awesome hole in the wall! These peeps are what Yelp is all about. A buddy took me here when I was in town for the day and boy is this place good! Super authentic Korean food and everything is under $9. I had udon noodle and they were tasty! It all came with kimchi and topped off with some tea, it was a great lunch. Total with tip around $22. Eat here. Double stamp, no eraseys. read more

NEVER judge a restaurant by its size or parking lot! I've enjoyed Korean food since a 1972 Army deployment. Kim's Korean Restaurant is as good as Korean food (total comfort food) gets in Washington State IMHO. Wife and I enjoyed our lunch and appreciated the help from the wonderful server who gave me further instructions in enjoying our meals (Korean Style) and food anecdotes which I"d never learned. No other Korean restaurant employee (Korea or US) had ever taken the time to educate me in the 'Korean way' to eat Bibimbap - Thanks!. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back for more meals as I've never heard a slightly negative thing from any patron I've spoken. I'm sorry I waited so long to find this GEM amongst Spokane Korean Restaurants. Also see Kayla R. review - What she said. read more

This place is amazing! I was craving Korean food and this place hit the spot. I got the kimchee fried rice and the kimchee soup. Both are delicious. The portions are huge. The soup was especially good on a cold day like today. The take out also comes with the delicious side dishes too. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

This is a hole-in-the-wall place that serves decent Korean food. The place closes a bit early so I just came in to get some food to go to eat later. They gave me 2 boxes, one box with my food and one box with the yummy Korean appetizers. It was great. I definitely would come back again if I lived in the area. read more

One of the ONLY places in Spokane that I frequent. Mrs. Kim never, ever disappoints. My wife and I don't have a lot of money for going out these days, so when we do we are happy to come here. The food is always amazing, the service is so friendly, and the banchan selection is AWESOME. Once you go a few times, they really treat you like family. I just left from having lunch, and am already thinking about my next visit. read more

I was really excited to visit this restaurant after reading the positive reviews of fellow Yelpers. Tonight I went by Kim's at 5:55pm and noticed the place was half full. The waitress told me that I couldn't sit down because they had "reservations" and at 6:00pm the place would be"completely booked". She offered me the choice to order take out. First off, I had no idea that Kim's required reservations on a Thursday evening, and second, I had my doubts about the place being "booked". Sure enough, after driving by about an hour later and looking in the window, Kim's was still half full. In other words: Do Not go to Kim's if you are a solo diner. Or better yet-if you do want to go to Kim's make sure you call in advance and see if there are "reservations" Clearly they discriminate against solo diners because they want to make money by filling tables with multiple orders. There are better choices for Korean food in Spokane. Huge disappointment and I won't be returning. read more

Authentic, great variety in menu, and great customer service. Came with many small plates of good variety. Food was fresh. The restaurant is small and has limited seating that was reduced in capacity due to Covid (thank you for taking appropriate precautions), so if you are going during a busy time you may want to consider carry out. read more

Kim's is the best! I love how the restaurant feels like a home inside. Every dish comes with a fun collection of small side dishes...toppings? Kimchi, pickled vegetables, things of that nature. The food is great. My favorite thing to order here is the kimbap. I find myself making two or three orders at a time, and there's so much food for the price!! I always leave here happy and satisfied! read more

My friends and I made this our last supper as a group before parting ways this past winter. We did a family style order of Galbi, Yakisoba and Bibimbap and it was very delicious. I'm no native to Spokane, but I do know what good Korean food is when it's already down my stomach. Will come back when I'm up in the area again. read more

I have to be honest, I am fairly sure I have never specifically had Korean food other than this. So I will base a review on the flavors, quality and the experience. This place is a definite hole in the wall. You will pass right by if you are not looking for it. It does not get any more "family run" than this. The chairs have apparently hand knitted seat cushions. There are only 5 or 6 tables. The place was full at 5:30 on a Saturday. I really like the small bowls of pickled or fried vegetables. We had the dumpling meat soup and spare ribs with purple rice ( I am sorry, but there is no way I remember the names.) They were very good. Maybe a little lacking in exotic flare, but flavorful and satisfying. A good experience. I want to go back for more. I saw many plates pass me going to other patrons that looked and smelled amazing. read more

Excellent home style Korean...like Mom is cooking. Very unassuming corner of a tiny strip mall, park in the lot next door. The full range of dishes, had an excellent ddukmanduguk, will go back to try the haemul jeong and yukgaejang or soondubu chigae. Nice selection of banchan. read more

I LOVE Korean cuisine but I have to say this was THE WORST KOREAN FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED. Ordered seafood and it was not fresh. I could not eat it. My fiancee ordered Bibimbap and he could not eat it either-too greasy. The only thing we got that was good was the egg rolls and the condiments. read more

I love this family-run place. Still think it beats any Korean place I've sampled in my Portland hometown. I will miss my visits here when in town for the kid's college stays. Had a big sampling last time and the seafood pancake was fantastic. Great, humble authentic restaurant. Highly recommended. read more

I'm just going to go with a highlights reel: Pros: - Best cut of kalbi in town - Largest variety of pan-chan in town - Decent pajun - Decent haemul soondoobu (mixed seafood soup, although the ingredients and seasoning are inconsistent) - Boricha - Appears family-owned and operated Cons: - Bulgogi and "spicy" pork contain vegetable fillers - Owner can come across as a bit eccentric - Yukgaejang is a bit spare - No atmosphere - Tiny parking lot I'd recommend this restaurant to a friend. read more

Went there last night for dinner and it was fantastic. 2 separate dishes for 2 people with sides and just water was less than $30. I got the bibimbop and it was good, the beef was cooked more than I'm used to but overall it was tasty. Also they do give you kimche with your sides now for no extra cost. I lived in Korea for almost 2 years and the quaintness of the restaurant and the kind service plus the food was a great reminder of my time there. Highly recommend. read more

But I'm saying, you can't expect to serve "ready made meals" that have allegedly been sitting for hours in the pot. Then expect your customers to pay full price. When I pay restaurant prices, I expect for a restaurant to cook up the meal, not to be a fast food experience. I paid almost $25 for that meal and it was no more than a fast food entrée. And it was stale.

I decided to order the Pork Katsu curry with rice which came out to ~$20ish. The spice level was pretty mild, but the flavour was spot-on. It was cooked well, seasoned well, was not oversalted, and the balance of the dish was impeccable. The rice went great with the dish, as it should. Definitely not Coco's Curry, or anything you would expect to get in Japan, and no add-ons or anything special, so you cannot just add cutlets or potatoes like you normally would be able to at a Japanese Curry place. But this was obviously a ramen place so as long as the dish tastes good, there is nothing to complain about...which is exactly what I experienced. Service was very friendly, and ambiance was just what you would expect. I cannot comment on the ramen or any of the other dishes, but definitely endorse their Pork Katsu curry with rice if you are in the mood for a Japanese-style curry.

Sorry, wished I could have scored the meal more but it just lacked that flavor we were looking for. *** Update - the restaurant reached out and asked on how they could improve so the review gets bumped up from three stars to 4 stars. Thank you for asking. For the KalBi, maybe more shoyu, ginger and honey would help bring out more flavor. As for the yukgaejung maybe a little more sesame oil may do the trick? I appreciate the fact that the restaurant actually read my review and solicited feedback.

The shop owners are a sweet older Korean couple and you can tell just how hard they work to run Kinja. Last time I was in they were playing BTS's old hits. So if you're in the mood for Korean food, come check them out!

This place was amazing -- truly a little hidden gem just north of downtown. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the kind of warmth and friendliness you only find in family-run spots. The food was outstanding, the service felt genuine, and the location was easy to find with plenty of nearby parking. Honestly, I wanted to come back the next day. My wife and I ordered the Dinner Galbi (beef ribs) and the Bibimbap (rice dish). Can't recommend enough. The Galbi beef was phenomenal. Perfectly marinated and seasoned, tender all the way through, and packed with deep, homemade flavor. I've had this dish at plenty of Korean restaurants, and this one hits like something made in someone's kitchen with care and love. Each bite was soft, juicy, and bursting with umami. The Bibimbap was exactly to my liking, served with purple rice and a colorful mix of fresh, flavorful ingredients. Normally, I like to add extra condiments to punch things up, but here it didn't need a thing. Everything was balanced and delicious. It paired perfectly with the Galbi and rounded out the meal beautifully. The customer service deserves a special mention. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the kind of person you could talk to for hours. We showed him a couple of items we were considering, and instead of just pointing to the most "popular" thing on the menu, he took the time to explain the ingredients and recommended what he genuinely thought we'd enjoy. You can tell he has great relationships with his regulars, and it gives the place a real community vibe. The location is easy to get to, and when they started cooking our food, the entire place filled with the most mouthwatering aroma. The decor is simple and traditional, exactly what you'd expect from a family-run mom-and-pop shop. It's cozy, unpretentious, and feels like the kind of place where you make new friends over a hearty home-cooked meal. I can't recommend this place enough. If you love authentic Korean food and warm hospitality, this is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be coming back. read more
