But sit back and enjoy this local favorite, grab a book from one of the shelves near the water cooler, and do some people watching! I highly recommend you start with the excellent Kimbap. Move on to a lovely noodle dish such as Japchae (tofu substitutes for almost everything). For the entre, force yourself to make the difficult decision between several spicy stews (Deonjang jjigae is amazingly hearty, and the perfect cure for congestion), or something more familiar such as Bibimbap. The best Korean food I've ever had is in... (checks map) Spokane, WA? This hidden gem is clean, cozy, and delicious. The banchan were numerous and yummy; the Kimchi had a sweetness to it which was excellent. I had Yukgaejang and it was the best I've ever had, hands down. The broth was perfectly spicy, the carrots and cucumbers added to the taste, and the beef was lean. NEVER judge a restaurant by its size or parking lot! I've enjoyed Korean food since a 1972 Army deployment. Kim's Korean Restaurant is as good as Korean food (total comfort food) gets in Washington State IMHO. Wife and I enjoyed our lunch and appreciated the help from the wonderful server who gave me further instructions in enjoying our meals (Korean Style) and food anecdotes which I"d never learned. No other Korean restaurant employee (Korea or US) had ever taken the time to educate me in the 'Korean way' to eat Bibimbap - Thanks!. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back for more meals as I've never heard a slightly negative thing from any patron I've spoken. This place is amazing! I was craving Korean food and this place hit the spot. I got the kimchee fried rice and the kimchee soup. Both are delicious. The portions are huge. This is a hole-in-the-wall place that serves decent Korean food. The place closes a bit early so I just came in to get some food to go to eat later. I was really excited to visit this restaurant after reading the positive reviews of fellow Yelpers. Tonight I went by Kim's at 5:55pm and noticed the place was half full. The waitress told me that I couldn't sit down because they had "reservations" and at 6:00pm the place would be"completely booked". She offered me the choice to order take out. First off, I had no idea that Kim's required reservations on a Thursday evening, and second, I had my doubts about the place being "booked". Sure enough, after driving by about an hour later and looking in the window, Kim's was still half full. In other words: Do Not go to Kim's if you are a solo diner. Or better yet-if you do want to go to Kim's make sure you call in advance and see if there are "reservations" Clearly they discriminate against solo diners because they want to make money by filling tables with multiple orders. There are better choices for Korean food in Spokane. Huge disappointment and I won't be returning. read more

I have to be honest, I am fairly sure I have never specifically had Korean food other than this. So I will base a review on the flavors, quality and the experience. This place is a definite hole in the wall. You will pass right by if you are not looking for it. It does not get any more "family run" than this. The chairs have apparently hand knitted seat cushions. There are only 5 or 6 tables. The place was full at 5:30 on a Saturday. I really like the small bowls of pickled or fried vegetables. We had the dumpling meat soup and spare ribs with purple rice ( I am sorry, but there is no way I remember the names.) They were very good. Maybe a little lacking in exotic flare, but flavorful and satisfying. A good experience. I want to go back for more. I saw many plates pass me going to other patrons that looked and smelled amazing. read more
