It was my first time visiting kim's nails, I called beforehand to make sure they were available to do the specific nail shape that I wanted (duck nails) they said they could do it. When I got there, a male worker began to work on my nails. I showed him a picture of the exact shape that I wanted, after a while a female worker I believe her name was Amy, she was the owner of the shop began to work on my nails. After a while, she said she was done with the shape. They were square, and they looked nothing like the photos that I showed her nor were they duck shaped, while I know this was an old school shop, I did my due diligence by calling ahead and showing a picture saying this is the exact shape that I want. I confronted the situation by letting her know, the shape was not to my liking because it looked nothing like the pictures and they were square. She began to get annoyed with me and said "clearly I am not qualified to do your nails, I see what kind of person you are". I said ma'am, if you did not know how to do duck nails you could've just told me and I would've never came here. She was super unprofessional and argumentative. She got very loud with me and had a very bad disrespectful attitude. Terrible customer service I will not be back! Not only that the nail shop was very uncleanly and you can tell the tools are never washed or sanitized beware!! She also said it was not possible to do the shape I wanted unless I were to get press on nails. I informed her that I've had the shape before at another nail salon. She said well good luck finding that, I didn't need luck I simply went to a more skilled Nail tech and all I needed was my debit card. Thank you. Went here for the first time today and I think I can finally make this place a regular. The mani/pedi combination is $39 and that price point is better than most salons around. Kids services range from $7 - $14. I feel like Raleigh/Wake Forest nail salons are getting over with the prices like there is no competition. Anyway, this place has a rewards system which is nice since we tend to come every week or 2. I'll definitely be back. They did a great job listening and great job on my hands/feet. read more

These people are crooks! I went here today for a mani and pedi for me and my best friend. The service was bad, and so was the the attitude of the nail technicians, but that I can live with. What I can't live with is the fact that they charged my credit card $202.00. That is a mistake that must happen on purpose. The receipt I signed is for $169.00, and you better know I did NOT add a tip to make it $202.! I don't know why there aren't any reviews on this place, but I'm honored to be the first. Welp, the place does not look like much however, do not let that fool you. At the moment they have a special on pedicures and full sets that make them $20. The staff is friendly and they get the job done. My pedicure was done in a timely fashion and he did a really good job in my opinion. They really made sure that all the "ugly stuff" was removed from my feet. I can't really speak on the manicures or full sets, but they seem to do a quality job. Like I said before, look past the decor. They know what they are doing in there. FYI: They take cards, but THEY WILL ADD ONE DOLLAR TO YOUR BILL TO COVER THE CREDIT COST. read more

Probably the worst experience I have ever had. I went yesterday for a gel manicure and was appalled by the way the tech began. The first two colors I selected were not available, and the one I chose was ot applied properly. There are bubbles in most of my nails, polish is on my fingertips and my hands, and it is coming off on the sides. No stars for this place. I can overlook the apperance, but the machine used to dry gel manicures had WET polish from previous people's manicures. Very disappointing, but I'm glad to have the internet to vent. read more

I have been going to this nail shop since two owners ago and had no issues with the quality of service. With this new ownership (Amy) I have had sloppy pedicures now 3 times in a row. First time I let it slide, 2nd time I went back and had them redo it. This last Saturday I decided to give them one more try, but again sloppy work. I snuck out of work the following Monday to go show her what my issue was, she then walks around the store speaking in her language to the other folks working there... pretty obvious she was talking about me!! Anyway, Amy looks at my pedicure and proceeds to tell me to sit so she can redo it and I explain that I've got rush back to work I just wanted to show her how sloppy it was (2 days later). She then says that she will do my pedicure herself the next time. Next time??? Lol, there will be no next time!! This was the third "next time".....I am done with them, time to take my business elsewhere. Not to mention how much higher the prices are now compared to previous ownership. Take a good, close, close look at your manicure and extremely close look at your pedicure before leaving, and ask them to fix it before you leave. No matter how busy they are (as was the case on my last visit) Extremely disappointed with this place, extremely!! I usually recommend this place but not anymore. Oh yeah, they reuse those cheap flimsy slippers they give to dry your pedicures.....(I realized when one of the techs tried to put one on my foot and I saw nail polish stains)!!!! Nasty!!! read more

No, the store is not much to look at but WOW! One of the best pedicures I've ever had. Basic yes, but that's all I really want, but an amazing foot massage. The staff was wonderful, engaging and friendly - it has a comfortable atmosphere. I was there for 45 minutes and 3 regulars (I'm assuming) dropped by for both secured appointments and advice. Even though the shop itself is a bit shabby I saw everything removed from the sanitizer as my tootsies were soaking. Probably one of the worst full sets I ever received. The tech barely filed down the acrylic resulting in very thick, unnatural looking nails. I asked for an almond shape and they turned out more squoval than almond. Also, their polish selection is limited. You're better off bringing your own. First time going to Kim's nails, and I would not recommend this place. I went to have a French pedicure as well as acrylic French manicure done. The pedicure was okay until the man starting scrubbing the TOPS of my feet like he would the calluses on the bottom of my foot, needless to say it was very uncomfortable for me. When it came to the manicure I got no treatment done to my cuticles and were left looking the same as when I walked in. The nails actually look fairly decent for the price I paid. But the worst part is when the man started to file down the edge of my nail he was really digging into my skin and actually cut me from the friction caused by the nail file!!! I guess truth goes to show that you get what you pay for, $55 for a mani pedi French tips is really good price but be warned by the inexperience some of the employees have. read more
