I was looking for the perfect place to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday, and from the moment I made my first inquiry until the day of the party, Kim made the entire process incredibly easy. Whenever I had a question, she was always just a text away, and her response to every request was consistently, "We can do that." On the day of the event, Kim gave us access to the space right at noon so we could decorate without any stress. Throughout the party, she stayed on top of everything--making sure drinks and food were taken care of, and even arranging for someone to cut and serve the cake. The basement area ended up being the perfect size for our group of 30 guests. I live nearby and i am trying so hard to love Kim's, but I am underwhelmed every time I go. Am I ordering the wrong menu items? Going at the wrong time? I don't know, but i will continue to try out of convenience and keep reporting back! Kim's is a smaller, locally owned business. The bar often has a group of regulars at it, though I have never had a hard time getting a stool. Perfect place to go enjoy a cold one. The staff is friendly and helpful, very attentive as well. There are not a ton of tables and I could see there being a wait pretty easily, but I have not encountered this issue. I should mention there is an outdoor patio that I cannot wait to sit on come summer. The food is where they lose me every time. When I moved into the area I ordered 8 pizza's to go to feed my family and my movers. They were not good. Some were undercooked, some were overcooked. The crust was meh and the toppings were limited. We went in to eat and decided to order items other then pizza based on this. Chicken Cesar salad, $15, please refer to the picture to see how small and well non-appetizing this looks. My son ate it, but I had to feed him when we got home because 1/2 of a romaine heart isn't gonna cut it and it was $15...yes, I am still in disbelief. Ground Beef nachos were not too shabby. Wow-what a diamond in the rough. We were looking at a lake home in the area and found this place very close by for lunch. Parking lot was pretty full with cars and Harleys but no one was sitting out side and a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We went inside and full of people playing bingo. Interesting options here. 4 friends went for dinner on a Wednesday night. We ate inside and the dining area was nice and was mostly empty. But that is because on Wednesday nights it is Woodfire Wednesdays, with live music and a special menu, all outside on the patio. I will address this later. Our meals were quite satisfying; the large Fried Chicken dinner was really good; the Cranberry Walnut Salad was large and good; and the Pulled Pork Nachos were good but there was very little melted cheese and after the meat was gone there were lots of chips left. However, the 1/2 size serving was larger than expected. These were all tasty and the presentation was good. We also ordered the Bourbon Glazed Meatballs which were incredibly good. The only thing that surprised us was the small drink servings; the wines and Cosmo were the smallest we can remember ever being served. The Coke was a large plastic glass. These were disappointing. The server was outside the entrance side of the restaurant when we parked. Unfortunately, she was smoking and the aroma was not welcome as we arrived to eat. She was then our indoor server and was not very invested in us or her service. We actually felt she was bored, and she did not bring anything friendly to the experience. When we left she was back outside smoking again. I guess we may have interrupted her break. After we finished we took a walk outside to see the Woodfire Wednesday offering. The live music was a single guitarist/singer who was really entertaining. The pizza oven was hot and serving some really good-looking pizzas, and the patio was almost full. Reservations are suggested as this event is every Wednesday through August. We may come back for this but the music may make conversations a bit challenging. All in all the evening was fine, the food very good, but the overall experience will not draw us back. It is a shame how a less-than-welcoming server can set an unwelcome tone. But the young busser was very nice and we tipped him personally. read more

Stopped in today and had a soda. I wanted to get a snack but by the time someone came to get my order I was frustrated with the poor service and decided against it. I dropped a 5$ bill on the bar for my soda and it was just enough to cover it. I don't think I'll be back- I've had a good meal there previously but I lose interest with poor service and a high priced soda. read more

I have been to Kim's many times and have never had a bad meal. Last night I came in for a birthday celebration with some friends and I am telling you everyone absolutely loved their food. Not an awful experience at Kim's, just not great & I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. We decided to dine-in after getting takeout pizza in the past. It's a relaxing ambiance, has outdoor seating & plenty of parking. The menu had a lot of options, as well as great variety of specialty drinks & desserts, including ice creams & shakes. Reasonable prices. Those were the nice perks! While we were seated promptly, this is probably the slowest service I've had at a restaurant in a long time. It wasn't a very crowded weeknight but it took over 15 minutes to get drinks, at least a half hour to get one appetizer & an hour to get one pizza for our group of three. The two empty tables behind us took a half hour to get cleared after the guests left & it made the atmosphere feel uninviting with so many plates stacked up. The chicken wing appetizers came without the sauces we ordered but we shrugged it off. What was most disappointing was the pizza; it was burned around the edges, not cooked thoroughly in the center & barely any sauce -we actually requested extra sauce when we ordered it too! Toppings weren't bad, the tomatoes & olives were fresh. The waitresses were definitely kind & seemed to be trying to keep up but it was a struggle. While I don't think we'd come back again as a first option, there were some other things on the menu I'd consider but pizza has been crossed off the list. There were ads about live music & wood-fired deals on Wednesdays, so maybe that'd be a good day to try again! read more

Nice rustic restaurant and friendly staff. Owner was about and talkative. We were about to order pizza but were informed of the taco special. $2 tacos, beef or chicken so we went with it. Tacos were good with super crispy shells, typical non authentic style but a bargain! We also ordered the French onion soup to start. Unfortunately the lack of a bubbling and crusty cheese topping was a disappointment. Delicious and mild soup, served hot and the bread inside held up nicely. My husband and I stopped here for lunch and truly enjoyed it. Kimberley was a great server. They had an interesting menu and we appreciated that everything was scratch made. Kim catered an afternoon outdoor Retirement party at our home for 70 guests. I didn't want hot grills or food that wouldn't survive the afternoon heat. I wanted tasty finger foods that could be served at room temp and be attractive for kids as well as adults. And I wanted the ease of displaying all the food on long tables under a tent so we wouldn't have to fuss during the 4 hour event. She prepared an assortment of finger sandwiches and mini croissant sandwiches on bounteous platters, fresh veggies with dill dip, gorgeous cut up fruit platters, and elegant caprese skewers. It was followed by a dense almond flavored cake cut up into small pieces that could be eaten by hand. The kids loved everything! So did the adults! I was delighted by the many compliments I received about the quality of the food, and the unique and elegant picnic menu. To top it off, it was a value I could not find elsewhere. Our experience at Kim's did not start great. We ordered 2 large pizzas and were informed when we arrived that there was an issue with the dough which made them unable to make large pizzas and instead offered us 3 small pizzas in return. It took around 40 minutes for the pizzas to arrive and, once we brought them home, they were cold and didn't taste great. This is where our experience did a complete 180. We called Kim's and spoke to Kim herself. She apologized and offered us two large pizzas that she made herself. She then drove them to us personally (a twenty minute drive) and gave us coupons for a free pizza and free drink. Finally, she thanked us for calling and letting her know of our issues so that she could improve the restaurant. Though our experience did not start great, Kim went to great lengths to redeem herself and her business and we will certainly give them another chance. read more

Compared to local competitors' cheese curds, these were perfectly fried to keep the curds intact. The service was very efficient and friendly as well. We had a pizza from Kim's about 2 months ago and to say the least we were not very impressed. We decided to give them another go and went for their Friday Fish fry. We sat at the bar for a couple of cocktails and then got our table. I had the deep fried Cod and my wife had the baked. They also make their own tartar sauce and that is key for me. My fish was lightly breaded, the tartar sauce was awesome and the fries were outstanding. Definitely my new #1 place for fish. We were out and about on a Monday, looking for a place for lunch. Not much was open in the area and then we stumbled on Kim's. There was a lively crowd of regulars at the bar but we were able to be seated right away in the dining room. After taking a look at the menu we decided to try a 1/2 order of nachos and a pizza. The nachos were fine but weirdly the chips didn't seem to be salted which left the dish kind of flat. Who would think we'd need to salt nachos? The pizza was delicious. We have a favorite pizza that we are forever trying to recreate and we attempted here as well. A note for the reader: pay attention to the per item pricing for add-ons. This was our bad since it is listed on the menu and we overlooked it but this pizza ended up costing $40. Delicious pizza, yes. Worth $40? LOL, no. Next time we are in the area and stop at Kim's we'll stick to a standard pizza from the menu instead of creating our own. A great spot in the country that we will be glad to go back to. read more

Excellent Pizza with fresh toppings! Bonus - A nice wine list, a FULL bar, a large and diversified menu. Excellent cheese curds that have obviously been fried in a fryer where the Friday Fish Fry WAS NOT - they taste like awesome, lightly battered curds and not fish fry grease remnants!
