I went here with Friends some weeks ago, after seeing it online posted by others. It was a more casual vibe and was smaller than I was expecting as well. The service was very personable and friendly, and the food was good too. The execution of it all I do think can be improved though, as my group's food came at various times, seemingly whenever. For instance, appetizers did not come before some of the food entrées. And the food entrées kinda came one by one, across time..maybe whenever they were ready? I'm not sure, but it was strange for a dining experience with others. The crab fried rice ($23) was so much bigger than I imagined and definitely the best thing I ate that night . The honey lemonade drink ($7.5 ) was not bad, as was a love triangle tortilla pockets ($11.5) & the kindee satay ($9.5). I love the presentation of the satay with the multiple components. Lastly I was feeling hungry, so I also ordered the Madalyn beef curry ($18.5) as well (thinking the crab fried rice was going to be a small serving). I didn't love it initially, as it reminded me more of a kind of a pot roast like dish, and less like a curry I'm used to (probably my fault when trying out Thai food with other expectations), but upon taking it home, I did like the leftovers better. Lastly, I got a Taro cheesecake, but was disappointed. I usually love taro flavors, but this lacked any pronounced flavor to me and really just tasted like your average cheesecake sadly. Came here for a dinner around 5pm on a weeknight and service was fast, attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. They have lovely presentation, but more importantly the food tastes great! I had the panang beef curry and the beef was super tender/melt in your mouth. Tried two of the matcha drinks - the coconut water one, which was super light and refreshing, and the ube one, which was pretty sweet but the matcha and ube flavors both came through. Had dinner with a friend last week and found the food to be really delicious! We split the curry puff appetizer - it was so good. The dough was flaky and the filling was potato-y and savory. My dish of Kruah Gai Noodle was able to be made with tofu and with no egg. Those noodles were soo good- soft and the right amount of chewy and it was flavorful. My friend had the crispy shrimp and said it was good. The highlight though was the dessert - the pandan cake with all the layers of cake in between cream and a coconut sauce to go with it. read more

The presentation of the food was beautiful. Considering they were really busy, the food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant decor was a lot more modern than TukTuk Thai. The restaurant is still fairly new, so the service itself can be spotty since we waited a long time for any server to check in on us once we received our food. Kin Dee Thai is a must try. Bud, the owner of Tuk Tuk Thai, has really outdone himself. He brings authentic Thai flavors and mixes them with some contemporary dishes. My group tried four drinks and four dishes and our favorite was actually the dessert. Where else in Tucson can you get a pandan crepe cake?! It was layered delicately with light cream and topped with homemade young coconut syrup. The love triangle pockets were also delicious and unique. Finally found a Thai restaurant in Tucson that I love! The service was excellent, the place was clean and tastefully decorated. Enjoyed it here - if I'm ever craving Thai or noodles and am on the east side this would be my first choice. Good vegan/vegetarian options and the waitress took an extra step to ask the cooks about certain ingredients (e.g. the wontons are made with eggs). I got the curry puffs (loveeeddd these, would stop by just to grab these as a quick snack), Thai tea with coconut milk (good strong Thai tea flavor), and kruah gai noodles sub chicken for tofu and no egg or wontons (also very yummy and a big portion). I was with a party of 4 and I noticed a lot of the dishes came with pickled veggies and many things were on the sweeter side - like the pad thai sauce tasted more sweet than peanut buttery, and the curry puffs were sweet as well. Also everyone's portions were generous too. I spent about $32 total pre-tip and was satisfied plus had leftover noodles. Our waitress was awesome - very attentive, quick and nice. I consider this restaurant sort of an upgrade of it's parent, Tuk Tuk Thai. I'm not sure if the menu is as extensive as the latter's but the food is excellent. I also like the modern, spacious interior. I tried the chicken skewers (pretty good), the Pad Kee Mao (great) and on the second visit the Pad Thai (also very good). Both the noodle dishes were well seasoned and in BIG portions, enough for two people or 2 meals. I will definitely visit again on my next trip back to Tucson, so I can explore more of the menu. Came here today after the DMV. Absolutely delicious and every meal was colorful and beautiful looking. The staff was really nice and honest. I ordered and left to the store came back and the lady said she accidentally charged me for 2 mango sticky rice. I took it anyways and wasn't mad about it. I ordered #41 basil chicken, so good and it had really pretty blue rice. Hopefully its healthy and not a toxic dye. I will ask next time I go in. 45 pad thai with chicken so good. Everything I've eaten here is delicious. I recently visited with my grandma and she loved the Ube drink and the shrimp dish. She loved her Ube drink so much she got 2. The shrimp and rice are so flavorful with the garlic sauce ! The peanut sauce for the summer rolls is unreal, I always crave it. I like the crab fried rice too but agree with my grandma the garlic shrimp is the best. Service is always great and well paced. It does get busy during lunch time. read more

I was impressed by this place. We sat waiting for a long time before a server came over, but it was nice outside on the patio and we weren't in a rush. All of the food was delicious. The summer rolls with peanut sauce were some of the best I've ever had. We shared the crab fried rice which had an extremely generous portion of fresh crab, and the chicken basil which had the perfect amount of spice and was so flavorful. The blue rice was a new experience but does not have any flavor besides plain white rice. The owners son is a server and came over and told us all about the restaurant, food, and family. His sister was there serving, and his grandma and uncle were cooking in the kitchen. He said his mom makes the crepe cakes fresh every day, he convinced us to get one (the last slice) and it was incredible. I never had anything like it. Not very sweet, and very light. They use pea flower to dye the rice blue and pandan leaves to dye the crepes green, it's all natural food dyes which I found so cool! The decorations are cute and talking to him was so enjoyable, it's a completely family run business. They also own the Tuk Tuk Thai restaurants. We left with enough leftovers for another meal. Tucson's newest Thai restaurant Kin Dee Thai is such a treat! From the owners of Tuk Tuk Thai on Campbell, this new restaurant is totally different than most Thai restaurants in town. The menu is unique but still has some regular Thai restaurant staples like pad Thai and satay. The Thai French toast is delightful, and definitely a different take on this brunch food. The Khao Man Gai (Chicken and rice) is definitely a must, as it is their specialty--very simple but has all the right flavors. For dessert, the taro sponge cake is a good treat and the ube matcha drink is real yummy but can be a bit thick and sugary. The service here is great too as long as it isn't too busy, sometimes they fill up and there may be a bit of a wait for a table. The ambiance is nice and fun with the paintings on the walls and definitely quite a few instagrammable spots inside the restaurant. If you haven't been def a great place to dine. read more

I haven't been compelled to review a place on Yelp in a LONG time. We were heading over to this shopping center to see what was here for lunch options and my wife spotted Kin Dee. We noticed on the way in that they're affiliated with Tuk Tuk Thai. Menu looked great, and pretty streamlined -- a handful of starters, main courses (which looks like brunch offerings), one speciality dish, and some other riffs on Thai classics. Also a really fun N.A. drink menu and desserts that we didn't have room to ask about. Our food was fantastic. I'm literally writing this while we're waiting for the check. Our server was so nice -- she had a fun moment with our son where she teased him about a bagged snack he brought in from outside and he offered to share it with her. She gave him a hug and brought him his own fancy strawberry lemonade. I had a Thai iced coffee (great), and we shared some of their spring rolls (excellent, though chopped into quarters and not huge...still a good price for them at $5.50). For mains, we had a crispy shrimp and rice dish with a garlic sauce and broccoli that was fantastic (reminded me of black pepper shrimp but with SO much garlic) and a noodle dish with egg, cilantro, green onion, chicken, crispy wontons and chopped iceberg lettuce. The latter ingredient sounded weird but it brought a perfect contrasting texture to the plate. It reminded me of a gussied pad see ew, especially in flavor, but somehow without a goopy sauce. I'd order all these same dishes again in a heartbeat. I'm also incredibly excited to come back and explore more of the menu. After spending five days exploring Portland for a second time and having a variety of really good Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai food, having something that feels in that same vein of culinary design in Tucson is great. We wanted to love this place as much as we do Tuc Tuc Thai. The menu is limited and the food was mediocre at best. My husband had Kao Mun Gai and I had Kruah Gai. Both were extremely bland and flavorless even though the chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. The rice noodles in the Kruah Gai were under cooked and curled into hard to chew tubes. Even with the sauces and broth, the Kao Mun Gai lacked flavor. We started with Love Triangles which were very good and had a nice dipping sauce. We also had Thai Iced Tea, and Thai Iced Green tea. While beautifully presented with an orchid and frothed milk, the were both bitter and lacked the sweetness you expect from these drinks. The place itself was clean and simple with many interesting shows on the screens. The service was good. I don't think we will be back. read more

When the food actually comes out it, it looks noticeably more pale. My fiance and I started our meal with the love triangles, which were great. We then ordered the kruah gai noodle and the panang braise beef curry. The ginger green onion taste in the kruah gai noodle was good but there wasn't any of the spiciness or strong flavors you expect from Thai food. The panang curry had good braised beef but was lacking in the depth that the spice adds. The plate was too shallow to mix the curry and there was too much rice and not enough curry. Overall, the vibe is nice and it feels like there is a lot of potential but right now the entrees need refinement. I would come back and try again after some time. read more
