I visited this location for the first time and had a really unpleasant experience. My waitress was the sweetest, most kind soul but unfortunately the people who were above her were not. My friend and I were the only 2 people there, she ordered a few items and I ordered a few as well. The ramen I ordered was simply not good, and I asked for something else or if I could just give it back. When the waitress told the boss, she completely freaked out on her and told her that I could not order anything else or take it back. The waitress then came back with the bowl and asked if I wanted to take it home. I did not want it so I politely told her that it was okay. They then tried to charge me for the food, when I asked if it could be removed, the boss become super aggressive towards us, and they both went over and spoke to another man, basically both pleading their cases, in another language and the man agreed and allowed our waitress to remove it. I'd also like to point out that I didn't eat much of the ramen because I knew straight away I didn't like it. The waitress seemed absolutely terrified of the other woman and honestly I felt very uncomfortable in the establishment. The boss, then stands by the door as we were leaving and I'll never return to this establishment EVER. I don't know if this was racially charged as we are both African American, or if it was just a case of poor business etiquette but the way they made me feel in that establishment was NOT nice. The bento box came with so much food and at a reasonable price! I got chicken teriyaki that came with vegetables and rice (white or brown). It also comes with soup or salad, appetizer, sushi roll, and a choice of drink. I got the tuna avocado, gyoza, and salad. On the service side the manager took care of issues quickly and offered to make adjustments and provide alternate choices for the dishes that missed the mark. When entering the restaurant, there was a mild unpleasant odor and there were no customers other than us. The odor, lack of patronage, plus the B rating from the department of health should have caused us to turn around. Very good! I had this for lunch today and thought while pricey, the portions weren't too bad and the food was generally tasty. For $30 or so I had a piece of pork with egg on rice, and a separate piece of miso cod. Pricey I guess? The pork bowl, while tasty, could have used a little more sauce and the egg wasn't consistently mixed in. The rice beneath the pork wasn't very flavorful. I loved the onions and the lightness, but couldn't really finish the rice because there just wasn't enough favor.
