Delicious!! Loved my boat noodles, son loved his Pad Thai and hubbie loved his Drunken Noodles.

THIS PLACE. In a word?? MAGICAL. You first walk into a small store front, and find yourself in a quaint and beautiful dining area. A few steps further and you're walking past/through the kitchen where the lovely chef and sous chef are preparing all the food. Then through another door you find yourself in a spacious hidden patio with warm lighting and soft jazz playing. During our visit there was one waiter who was taking care of everyone and gave us great service and recommendations. The food and drinks are AMAZING. I'm a lover of Thai tea and usually have it as a boba drink. The server introduced me to the alternative of Thai lime iced tea. Absolutely fantastic. My husband and I both ordered different noodle soups, he got the Combination Boat Noodles and I got one of their signature dishes which was like ramen in a Thai curry broth with great toppings and a nest of crunchy noodles on top. We were both blown away by the depth of the flavors and textures. It was a 5 star meal that we can't wait to have again!! This is a place we need to support as a community. I had really high hopes for this restaurant because I love Thai food and not many Thai places have the noodle dishes that are offered here at Kin Sen. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with this place at all. I was there for a birthday dinner and although a reservation was set up, they seated everyone at separate tables. They told us we could move the 4 of them together if we wanted, so we did it ourselves without any help from the servers. The servers were also incredibly slow at getting our drink orders and we had to remind them of missing items. Several of us had mango margaritas but I got mine in a short glass and others got theirs in a mason jar... interesting size difference. Beer glasses were given to some people and forgotten for others. They also won't serve liquor after 9pm even though many of us had just barely started eating our entrees. As for the food, the fried larb sounded interesting but it was overly fried and dry inside. I ordered the Tom Yum Seafood Noodles ($19) and the broth was super sweet. I had to ask for limes and add a bunch of dried chili because it wasn't spicy and sour like I expected. I also tried some of the Kao Soi, Boat Noodles, Pad Spaghetti and Teriyaki Chicken and EVERYTHING was incredibly sweet. I couldn't finish my food and don't think I'll be back when there are much better places for Thai that aren't way overpriced. read more

Whether this was the intended meaning or not, in my eyes Salt Lake City you have hit jackpot with this new-ish nood bar! Noods, nudes, same same but different. Here we are, just suffering from an endless pandemic, an earthquake, hurricane winds, a divisive election, all the crazy karens, and literally just drowning in a pool of turmoil. BUT LOOK OVER THERE!!! Just sitting quietly across Pioneer Park is Kin Sen Noodle Bar! Shimmering in their magical pixie dust and cooking up an Asian persuasion storm with selections ranging from killer kao soi to mother pho-ing noods. Authentic and spicy. I love noodles and this place doesn't disappoint. I like a little spice and this took me just beyond my spice level. Which is good to do every now and again. My friends love loved it but they can handle more spice than me. We had the Tom Kom, boat noodles with short rib, crispy spring rolls, curry puffs and kao soi. All of it was tasty especially the appetizers. The portions were big and service was fast and delightful. Since they have so many options to try I would definitely come back and try a few other things. read more

Forgot to write a review on this place from before. This is were the Tin Angel restaurant which has since moved to main street. Parking is still horrible here and that is where the negativity ends. We were greeted with a smile upon entering and quickly seated, they practice social distancing, they were PPE, they also provide hand sanitizer. The temperature outside was around 78 degrees and they had the outdoor windows open which let in a perfect breeze. The presentation on the food is appetizing and beautiful. My most favorite item is still their Kao Soi also spelled Khao soi or Khao soy. The curry broth is thick, and flavorful and the ample portion of the tender short rib is amazing! Can't forget the boat noodles, mango and pumpkin custard sticky rice were also amazing! Haven't had a single item where I wasn't totally impressed with, this is a fancy upscale Thai place and the prices are on point for the portions and quality. For sure will be back! read more

Good food - good service - lots of parking - dining in available! We began with crispy Larb ($8) - very good and tasty- then came the curry puff ($9) - tasty and yummy! The Boat noodles with Short Ribs ($16) was a bit sweet for me but the short ribs were fall apart tasty - everyone on the table enjoyed it! Pad See Ele ($13) was very good! Lots of veggies with flat noodles Ramen ($13) on par with many ramen served here- lots of good pork 2 1/2 eggs with some veggies Massamun curry ($13). Excellent- will be ordered again served with a red bean rice! We had it with chicken which was perfect- good flavor Service was attentive and good served timely and hot! I am super surprised with this place. This was on my radar and was super excited when I was able to convince my friend that we needed to go here for lunch. I can see parking being hectic during busy lunch or dinner time. We came slightly later and on the middle of the week, so parking was no problem. The interior design captured what a restaurant would actually be like in south east Asia. The windows was open, it was nice and warm. The food was amazing. I was glad we are able to get a more Thai "street food" style restaurant. The curry puff we ordered was so flavorful. The pastry was perfectly flakey and crispy. The stuffing was amazing and flavorful. It has a slight heat, and for additional flavor - the sweet Thai chili sauce. I got the boat noodle soup for my main dish. Super flavorful. It is also spicy, but I'm sure you can tell them no spice if you don't like it. I added more spice to mine cause I love the heat. The beef in my soup was medium to medium done. Perfect texture, but I'm sure you can request well done if you wanted. You could also soak it in the soup and have it cook a bit more in there. 5 yummy stars! And I definitely want to come back to try more stuff. read more

I am so torn in this review. When I saw the pictures online, it looked really promising. Boat noodles and Khao soi are one of my favorite Thai/Lao dishes. It is not mainstream in America, especially Utah. We ordered curry puffs as an appetizer, which was the best dish. The fillings were delicious, although the pastry is more like a puff pastry, not the kind that you get from curry puffs in south east Asia. When it came to the boat noodles and khao soi, my first concern was they came to the table lukewarm, instead of piping hot. Second concern was they were both too sweet, so much so that it gets a bit too much just after a few mouthfuls. The 2 dishes were otherwise well made and there was depth to the flavors, which is what you expect especially for the boat noodles. It is so disappointing to find a restaurant with so much promise serving dishes that I love, but fall short on the execution. It is HIGH TIME that Utah start serving authentic ethnic food, truly authentic ones. And not try to overly cater to the American taste buds. read more

Found this spot randomly on my way to Park City from the airport. Best decision ever. The server was nice and attentive. The restaurant is small and cozy inside. Wow! We started with the Curry Puff which was flavorful, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then we had the chicken noodle soup. This soup is spicy and they give you plenty of chicken. Very delicious! We also ordered the Ramen which had a delicious broth and pork belly. We ordered through Grubhub and when it arrived it was packaged perfectly. The broth's where in a separate container and everything was cleanly and neatly organized. Very good presentation. We will order again soon. There are so many good local Thai Food in North Hollywood, so since we moved from LA to SLC, we were glad to find this place in Utah. We used to love coming here every weekend but we stopped dining in here since that one unpleasant experience that we had. We decide to only do take out service since then and today, I found a plastic piece on the bottom of my soup ( wasn't a plastic wrap tho) that I almost swallowed it . My friend invited me for dinner to Kin Sen on a quiet Tuesday evening. It was a little after 5 so no one else had been seated yet. The waitress was super nice and greeted us immediately. The interior was homey and rather large. I expected it to be smaller from first glance of the building. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai. I did it was slightly overpriced - $16. It smelled delicious as it was set out in front of me. After my first bite, I was completely underwhelmed. The noodles were not the traditional thicker noodles, but thinner pho noodles. The noodles were dry and clumped together. It was difficult to pull them apart with my chopsticks. There was no saving the noodles for this dish at this point. I ate the shrimp to at least get my money's worth. The waitress asked if I wanted a box for my untouched food, in which I declined. She grabbed my plate and took it away. I was in a big nood mood for some reason while I was visiting Utah. I'm pretty sure the cold weather and snow had something to do with it. Anyway, what better way to warm your soul with some delicious and spicy Thai boat noodles? Kin Sen doesn't put blood in their boat noodles, if that makes or breaks anyone's decision. Blood certainly adds a layer of flavor to the broth, but I really don't have a preference either way. Regardless, the broth smelled fragrant and inviting. It was sweet and very comforting to sip and drink. We ordered it as spicy as possible, which definitely has a kick. Careful when drinking it otherwise you'll end up coughing up a lung like my fiancee. They did not skimp on the fixings like beef, gai lan, and meatballs. Initially I wished the portion was bigger, but throughout our meal, I realized that it was actually a pretty big portion because we were getting pretty full from just sharing it. Sad to say, the noodles were broken into bits and pieces... which also is kind of a pet peeve of mine. If the noodles were actual strands and al dente, it would've been more enjoyable. I've had much better boat noodles elsewhere, but Kin Sen makes theirs pretty good. I'm sure this is probably the best you'll find in SLC or Utah for that matter. Kin Sen Noodle Bar is definitely a one-stop shop for noodles. There's noodle soups, pan fried noodles, and even several rice dishes too. They have crowd favorites like ramen, pho, pad thai, and different renditions of pasta with Asian flavors/ingredients. Okay, hands down: this is the best Thai food I've ever had. We ordered the popcorn chicken, crispy rolls, drunken noodles and Kao Soi. So flavorful and the perfect amount of spicy. The kao soi noodles were DELICIOUS. I'm still dreaming about that curry and crispy noodle they topped it with. I'm taking off a star because the service was not it. We had to go out of our way to ask for help with changing our order. The waitress was nice but we were the only people in the restaurant and she never once checked on us. I have come out of my retirement (yelp elite status) to review this restaurant because it's AHHMAAaaZInnnnggg!!! Let me start off with their patio. SO CUTE! It is shaded and the tables are socially distanced which gives you that extra safe feeling and some privacy. They also have a beautiful interior that we can't wait to sit in when the pandemic is over. We had tom yum seafood noodle with shrimp and crispy pork with jasmine purple rice. The noodles in the soup is bean thread kind. Both are delicious including the hot crispy chicken curry puff we got as appetizers. I don't even know where to begin on how good this meal was, and that's hard to do with to-go ramen. The portions were perfect, I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. The curry broth was seasoned to perfection, and I loved that the pepper sauce came on the side to add some extra heat. I got the chicken in mine and it wasn't like most places where you get a few slivers of meat. It was BONE IN chicken, 2 drums and a wing and the meat was perfectly cooked that it just fell off the bone. The pickled cabbage was delicious, I could have eaten it plain as a side. My boyfriend got the Boat and he loved his as well, it was delicious and unique from the Kao Soi. Will definitely be back, especially after a day of skiing! This place is delish! It's new so I decided to check it out. We got the crispy rolls, boat noodles and the pad see ew. My fav was the boat noodles! It's sweet, spicy and savory the waitress was super nice and even asked us if the soup was too spicy. Which is nice because sometimes I go places and it's too spicy, but the food here was a perfect amount of spicy. They even gave us a free dessert, pumpkin custard and sweet rice. Came here to try their noodle soups out. I ordered the Pho 2 with brisket and beef meatballs as the protein, and some rice noodles to add flavor. Food was great! The meat had the perfect texture and the noodles complemented the dish perfectly. Service was excellent! They came to take our order pretty fast and our server made sure to tell us that the boat noodle broth was pork. Mood is calming because there is only a few tables in there but there is a lot of outdoor seating also. Highly recommended when you are craving a noodle soup of some sort! read more

My favorite new noodle spot in SLC! I went twice in the span of two days. It's that good! The first time I went I ordered the Bamee Shrimp Wonton Soup. The egg noodles were really good and the shrimp wontons were very flavorful. The broth was very clear but lacked a little more flavor for me. Not the best but pretty good if you're looking for something light. I also ordered the curry puffs which are delicious! The next visit I ordered the Boat Noodles with Beef short ribs. It was outstanding! Best noodle soup I've ever had. It is their signature dish for sure. The sweet and spicy with the combination of the short ribs just hit the spot! Online ordering was easy to use and convenient. However, the restaurant did not handle our online order very well. We arrived a few minutes after the set order time. We drove up to the drive thru and they said they could not find our order although we had received an order confirmation about 20-25 minutes before arriving. They were able to find it and said it would take another 15 minutes or so. It took 20 minutes before they completed our order without an apology for losing our order followed by cold service. There was a sticker on our bag that showed the initial order time so I'm not sure what happened. The food was decently good, we ordered the boat noodles with beef short rib boat noodles, pad spaghetti seafood, and rotee. The spaghetti seafood had way too many basil leaves that filled up a good chunk of the dish, I wish the dish also had a bit more seafood. The beef short rib boat noodles had good flavor but the noodles were too soft. We really enjoyed the rotee and the fresh fruit that came with it. read more

Went for the first time, food was so flavorful. Not going to lie I love so much oils and pepper and spices in my pho. I got the beef rib pho. I didn't add any salt pepper or oils it was seasoned so well. The teriyaki chicken was bursting with flavor. Such a chill vibe in the restaurant.
