Some positive thoughts: Good variety, reasonable price, decent soups, a proper American vegetable salad bar, and basics like white rice and rice noodles prepared well. After that, It goes downhill. The wallpaper is pealing, the ceiling is dirty, the ice cream machine was out of vanilla and no one cared to do anything about it when told. The deep-fried bar had the really cheap stuff, some of it inedible. The hot bar flavored with cheap meats, a few vegetalbes (good beans and broccoli) and fake crab (three items with this junk) and thick sauces is a nightmare. The dessert table has some flavorless melon and a decent mini-macaroon cookie. There are also two sushi items (2)! It would not be diffucult to change this disaster around by hiring a nutritionist to suggest ten items that are worth eating and putting some money into some redecoration. One has the impression that those present who were happy to stuff themselves for $7.50 person don't really care. Nor of course do the owners. There are many high quaulity Chinese Buffets-- perhaps not in Wausau. But if the owners have any pride or sense of self-worth, they will take a lesson from some of the good ones and give the King some class. read more

For a Chinese Buffet, this is pretty good! It has a lager selection of food than I have seen at other buffets, and I enjoyed almost all of it. It isn't the largest location, but I haven't ever had to wait, and there have always been a few seats open. The price is very reasonable, and the staff has always been friendly and kind. I can enjoy Chinese Buffet food every now and then, and when I get the craving for it, this is where I go. read more

Decent food. . The staff was really nice but then started to look at me funny after my third plate and also brought me my check after my second plate . I was still hungry but felt uncomfortable eating more . Had to go get McDonald's right after just to finish up . Went on 7pm on a Friday and they close at 9pm. I at least expected the food to be warm. Anything chicken tasted rotten. I was a little scared to try anything else after my first plate. The staff was very sweet and made the experience a little better. Overall, the food just wasn't fresh. read more

I wish I had seen the previous review before deciding to go here. My husband and I went for lunch on a Saturday shortly after opening. The place was packed, yet the food was somehow cold and dried out. The selection was meager at best... and like the previous review mentioned, one of the male workers was continuously hacking, coughing, and making the most disgusting noises I'd ever heard. I can only hope that he had allergies or sinus issues instead of an actual illness. If you are dining with someone hoping to find some American options on the buffet, this is not your place. Aside from the limited salad bar, they had only a couple of varieties of potatoes and some stale garlic bread. Even the bananas on the fruit bar were mushy and old. I took one bite and couldn't eat any more. The crab Rangoon had decent flavor, but the texture was overdone and hard as a rock. They had a couple of different soups, but not even any wonton soup, which is a staple of a decent chinese buffet in my opinion. No seafood to speak of (even on a Saturday buffet) except for something that they called mixed seafood that was nothing more than chunks of imitation crabmeat, a few shrimp, and some vegetables in a white sauce. There was also what they called a "crabmeat bake" that was imitation crab with celery and maybe a few chopped onions, cremated under a broiler until the top was crispy and vaguely reminiscent of the texture of shrimp shells. I did like the sweet and mildly spicy flavor of the General Tso's chicken, but when I tried the chicken with broccoli I found that the meat had a slimy, slippery texture that just didn't seem quite right. The "BBQ" chicken on a stick was flavorless, but had obviously been marinated in something that gave it a deep red color. The overall vibe of the establishment was dingy, grimy, old, and improperly maintained. I will not be going here again, and I strongly advise anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience to seek a different restaurant. read more

I don't recommend this place. The food is okay. Dishes are not washed very well. Food is stuck between the clean plates. Called in for the prices per person for adults and kids. After I got my billed, he overcharged us. The last time I was there, the lo mien noodles had a strange smell to it. I am not sure why the place is still running. This will be my last time there. When it comes to Chinese food, I recommend Chopstix in Wausau. read more

As good as it gets for a Chinese buffet. Their staff is courteous and pleasant to their customers. The restaurant doesn't try to be all things to all people: No hibachi grills and only a modest amount of sushi, but the overall experience more than makes up for lack of these frills. Buffet food will always come up short in the taste and freshness category, but for a Chinese buffet, this is the one to visit. read more

I tried this place simply because I did not know the area and was passing by. The food was just disgusting, everything was so greasy and I think the have only one sauce, so all dishes came with the same sauce. The only good thing was that it was kinda cheap. Sorry-- We like it. No, you will not find American food here, as another reviewer noted-- but thats because its an Asian buffet. Also-- for like $6-7 bucks of all you can eat, no-- you wont always find seafood either. Now and then they have salmon, now and then other types of fish. You will find great crab ragoons, real vegetables, stuffed mushrooms, dim sum, egg rolls, spring rolls, terryaki, a cpl different kinds of rolls (sushi), noodles, rice, fried rice, chicken, beef, pork, imitation crab dishes, and soft serve ice cream. The wait staff are efficient, the drink refills are free, they have reduced pricing for little kids... Yes, now and then some dishes are a little greasy-- but this place is almost always busy for a reason, it fits in a family budget, and its real, unprocessed food. I have no complaints. read more

This place is nasty. Foods are all greasy and sloppy. Place is humid, sticky like no fresh air ventilation. You walk out of there clothes smelling like you been working in the kitchen. Ohh, so sad to have to scratch another Chinese buffet restaurant off my list of go to places. I enjoy a variety of dishes and like that you can sample across a selection without getting too much food, or expense, but what a letdown this establishment has become. My latest visit there was the proverbial last straw. Even though my companion and I went during prime dinner hour time when lots of customers should have resulted in fresh and hot food selections, the entrees sampled were lukewarm. The chicken and pork dishes were rubbery and full of gristle. That was just the beginning of an extremely unappetizing dining experience. While the table attendants/drink servers were polite and efficiently attentive (good job there), the young male attendant apparently was suffering from congestion, or sinus trouble. Throughout our entire meal there he CONTINUALLY made the most repulsive and loud noises as he sat up front, walked between tables, delivered drinks and moved about the restaurant. Gross, gross, gross! I had to excuse myself to the restroom as I became nauseous from the sounds. The restroom itself is in poor repair. Greasy (slippery) floors, bin overflowing with used paper toweling and a grubby appearance. The carpeting and wooden doors are filthy and replete with holes in the hallway. I shudder to think what may lie behind the closed, grubby kitchen door. This fall into uncleanliness and mediocre food standards will keep me from ever setting foot in this restaurant again unless and until the management does a thorough rehab. Until then, I'll stick with Chang Garden in Weston for a la carte ordering. read more

I don't know what all these bad ratings are. I love this place. Sure it's not fancy, but it's homey and practical. The General Tso's chicken isn't as good as China Inn in Merrill, but it's ok. Chicken and Broccoli is great, the broccoli is always done just right, still alittle crispy. Seafood Delight could have a few more veggies but it's a big hit with my kids. Beef and mushroom is good, and so is the peanut chicken. The crab Rangoon is a hit or miss, sometimes it is a little to crunchy but I just don't eat the crunchy parts, the inside is the best part anyway, right? The salad bar is great with a lot of topping options. They have sushi, the California roll is the best. The fruit is a big hit with my daughter, especially the mandarin oranges. My absolute favorite though is the green beans. I don't know what sauce they put on them, with little bits of garlic, but it's just phenomenal. The desert could be better but there is one little round cake that we just can't get enough of. And the service! Sure they can't speak English but they try so hard and are so polite. There is one guy there that tells my kids to call him Potato. He is such a sweet heart. Always joking around and smiling. We have never gotten sick here, and we eat here at least three times a month. My family loves it here and we will be long time customers! read more
