My first visit was today and I wasn't disappointed. I'm giving it four stars because blue crabs is on the menu and they didn't have any. I prefer blue crabs over snow crabs I got the juicy sauce and medium spice...everything was so flavorful. We got snow crab special with shrimps, we added crawfish and sausages. We shared a bag and it was so good and plentiful for both of us. We couldn't finish the sausages. We sat at the bar otherwise the wait was 30 minutes. This is a good seafood spot but 2 things where off. 1) the pricing...I got half lb og mussels, shrimp and crab legs for 23.99 which is not bad but i wanted to make it a full lb of crab legs. I was advised to order each seperately which is way more than the combo verses just upcharging me for the extra cluster. 2) Next was the sauce....i got the combination of all the sauces with a medum heat. It was basic at best, not very flavorful and was not tossed evenly. If i was on that side of town i may try it again but i would not going out my way. The city of Charlotte has better options to get the same type of food. However, great atmosphere and they had a full bar (total bonus). One of the better seafood places in Charlotte for crab legs, mussels, shrimp, clams, etc. Been here a few times and tried something different each time and have yet to have anything I didn't like. The lunch specials are a great price for all you get. And then they have daily specials as well. I usually the boiled seafood bag that comes with corn and potatoes. My favorite was the shrimp and clams with the juicy special mild. They juicy special sauce is so flavorful and goes good on everything. It's even better poured on the leftovers and reheated in the oven. The staff is always nice and welcoming. They write the specials done on the white paper on the tables and answer any questions you may have. I haven't been when it was extremely busy yet but the staff seems to be very efficient. Not only are they affordable but the fact that they use real butter won me over . A group of 11 was seated in about 5 mins. It would be nice to be able to reserve but with how busy they are, it's understandable that they just want to sit as many customer that walks into the place. Seafood was fresh. We had a pound of Dungeness, a pound of shrimp, pound of black mussels, pound of sausages, pound of potatoes. That alone was about $70ish. Another pot that ended up being $56ish. In all, our total was $206 including a $32 service fee (assuming if you have over a certain amount to your party, they will automatically charge you the fee) Placing orders was fairly quick and easy. The renovations they did on the old TGIFriday is a nice touch. Staff were all courteous and welcoming. A nice addition of seafood to the Charlotte area. Do prepare to wait. It's a nice atmosphere for chit chatting with friends and family. Wouldn't really suggest it as a place for a date. Clean restrooms with a changing table. King Crab is the spot that popped my cherry in seafood boil. Where have I been all my life that I haven't tried seafood boil like this? Well, King Crab does it right. I ordered for my entire family which came out to over $90 and every bit was worth it. The garlic butter sauce is divine, it just makes you want more seafood every time you lick it. Crab legs and shrimp (no heads) with garlic butter hit the spot. My only thing is that I did find some poop in some of the shrimp, but it didn't really bother me that much. When you pick up your order, there is a staff member (security? not sure) that controls who comes in and where to stand to practice social distancing.
