It's very possible that this place is legitimately good. I came for a bite before a concert. I should have looked around first. I ordered teriyaki but he was kind enough to tell me it would be 30 minutes. I opted for the chili and rice. It was good service chili at best. Rice was cooked ununiformly like i got the last bit from the half empty cooker. There is no way this place can handle a pre game or pre concert crowd. It wasn't even that crowded yet and they struggled mightily. Good location though. Just would never go here before an event. read more

The last Seahawks home game of the year and we arrived wayyyy early to the stadium. I was in the mood for a sit down place but someplace kind of quick. After walking around the outside of the stadium I came across King Dome Deli. This was one of those moments you put your face up to the window and read the menu from outside...contemplate life for a bit and then go sure why not! I couldn't have been happier with my decision to try them out. The women at the counter was so nice even though she was honestly slammed with orders. My wife and I both ordered a Seahawks sub. It only took 5 minutes or so for completion and then the food was brought to our seats. It's interesting, the quality of the food made me really happy. It's not overkill but it's also not anything special or out of this world. The appealing part is that it was very simple, but very good. Mediocre fast lunch place at best. I was debating between two and three stars. I only gave three stars because of the delicious chili. My first impression of the Deli was not good. It was not very clean inside and looked very run down. I got my order to go, and headed back to my office. The two ladies that were working in there were so busy and were not that friendly at all. I tried ordering a ham and cheese sandwich and the lady did not understand me. She forgot to put the cheese on the sandwich that I ordered. The sandwich was something that I could have easily made at home to be close to a $10.00 price tag. I had the chili as well with cheese on it. The chili was really delicious, but I think it was just warmed out of a can. It did not seem like it was made from scratch. Overall, its just a run down mom and pop shop deli. There was plenty of room for seating, but some of the tables are dirty. Overall, as I said, mediocre, not very good customer service and the Sushi and Deli and all kinds of foods in the same place made me nervous, but that is okay. It honestly looked like food poisoning waiting to happen. I may go back for a sandwich if I am in a hurry, but otherwise, I will not. Got a turkey sandwich for $7 and it was just meat and cheese, no veggies included. Took 20 minutes after ordering and the line moved slowly before that so I wouldn't come back just for that reason when out and about for business. Generous portions - we had our 5-year old with us and we didn't even order a separate dish for him - we had plenty to share between the 3 of us. Thought I'd give them a try today. I'll never go back. The roast beef sandwich I had was completely lacking in flavor - the major flavor was from the mayonnaise. This is a local low-end sandwich shop. There are three high-end sandwich providers within a few blocks, one of which has similar prices. I don't understand how when someone says "please, no mayo" not once, but TWICE and then that is (rudely, might I add) is repeated back to me, as if I was in the wrong for saying it ... I wanted to like this place. Was hoping it was a hidden gem that shows you can't judge a book by its cover. I ignored the "warning warning " notice that flashed through my mind because of the "Deli and Sushi" sign. I have learnt to listen better to my instincts. The lady who served me was very nice, and the food came out quickly. I got a chicken sandwich )$10 or so). But that's as good as it got. I returned to my office and tried to eat the sandwich but it was just horrible. The chicken was like flavorless rubber. I threw the chicken away and had bread, a bit of salad and what I think was mayonnaise. My stomach didn't feel great afterwards and I was consumed by a sense of a wasted lunch. This place is in such a prime location - by the train station, the stadium, the office workers...it should be better. Most importantly they are standardized and prepare the food consistantly with portions and quality. Then again I always tip them. Here is everything I've had or have on a regular basis in order of favs. (Also this is all I have tried. There's much more.) Chili over rice w/ Cheese. Awesome! The chili is great with big chunks of tomatoes and beef too. Around $6 after tax. Cheap. Chili Dog. Comes with a real beef polish foot longer dog! Plenty of chili and cheese and a good quality bun. Will fill you up! Around $6 after tax. Cheap... Meatloaf sandwich. Plenty of meatloaf and all the fixins! Fills you up for around $7 after tax. Cheesesteak. Big! Good stuff. Lots of cheese. Only thing is that they are a little pepper heavy. Take some of that away and add more meat and cheese and it would rule. Breakfast burrito. HUGE. Only issue is that it's egg heavy and could use more meats and cheese and less egg. Also some sour cream would rule. I think it's like $4-$5 after tax. Keep up the great work! read more

Ummmm, just not what I expected. Stopped in here hoping for a good deli and well, it was more like a gas station that made sandwiches. When I noticed the menu went from sushi to sandwiches to chili dogs, I knew I was in the wrong place. $20 for food that I could of thrown together at home. It's unlikely I'll be returning to King Dome Deli, despite my love for breakfast burritos and cheap sandwiches. I work across the street and needed a quick to-go lunch before a meeting. Despite the empty restaurant, it took multiple minutes for the three people behind the counter to acknowledge my presence at the cash register. I ordered two things: a sandwich and a fountain drink. To try to ease the language barrier, I pointed to the drink cups after noticing that the cashier seemed unsure what I wanted. Although she nodded and seemed to add something to the total, I wasn't handed a cup. Having not gone before, I thought it may be given to me with my sandwich. However, it wasn't. I asked and was rudely informed that I "hadn't ordered or paid for it" and, despite my firm, polite insistence that yes, I had, she refused to give it to me. I was now running late and had to leave. I went next door and got a soda and a bag of chips. The turkey BLT I got is fine, but not worth $8. Nicely toasted. The turkey is deli turkey- very much lunchmeat, and not good lunchmeat. This is a nice cheap deli next to Qwest Field and the Amtrak station. The food is ok, worth about 3-3.5 stars. The service is 'meh', worth 2-3 stars, but the location gets it that 4th star. I hate that King St. Station has no food. It sucks. However, once I found this place I was appeased. Now, after I get to the station over an hour ealy, I can go get a pretty good deli sandwich and wait for the train. Their selection of sandwiches is pretty good, but none of them stand out as a super awesome sandwich. The ladies are nice, but the service tends to be very slow and they do have a habit of scurrying away in the middle of a transaction. One time I went there before taking the train and ordered two sandwiches. After the transaction the lady looks at me and says "I'm not Japanese; I'm Korean." What? Why did she say that? I should have asked her why cause it still bothers me to this day... I lived in Japan for a short while and have a habit of receiving food with both hands and a slight bow of the head. This is just plain and simple a sandwich deli that does things right. Nothing fancy, no fresh baked bread, imported Italian meats or fancy cheeses. In fact I think the turkey on my Turkey Club is a pressed turkey. But hey, what do you want for something in downtown Seattle and is a really QUICK lunch for the working crew. They have several kinds of bread, whole wheat, 9 grain, sour dough, rye and a few others. Various selections of "their" sandwiches along with the standard, grilled cheese, Ruben, and tuna, amongst others. Another nicety is the freshness of the veggies on the sandwiches. The Romain lettuce is always crisp and fresh along with the nicely sliced tomatoes, sandwiches are made neat and consistent. They offer homemade chili, very hearty, sometimes a soup of the day, cup or a bowl, to go along with your sandwich, which comes as a whole or half, and a nice selection of pop and beverages. If you tire of the sandwiches, try something off of their "specials" menu, spaghetti isn't half bad and it comes with a "salads" and garlic toast, sadly it isn't offered all the time. One of the usual specials is the "Chili of rice", and that's not a misprint from me, for the price it's quite a deal and very filling. The help is friendly and quick, after a few visits they'll know your "usual" which is a nice added touch. They take Credit and Debt cards which is not always the case at a small shop like this. Starting with the warm soda from the cooler, it didn't get much better. The lady taking my order was not friendly in any way and she was difficult to understand. The lady preparing the food wasn't any better. She finished my sandwich and instead of bringing it to my table she got my attention to come and get it from where when stood- 5 feet away. If it was busy I wouldn't have questioned it but it was dead. The sandwich was mediocre. No flavor at all and stacked almost too high to take a bite. Whenever I don't feel like waiting in a ridiculous line and in need of a quick lunch to take back to the office, I always stop by here. The specials are where it's at. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are good, but I have a soft place in my heart on Wednesdays where they serve what I'm assuming is a Costco take home and bake lasagna! The kind I never buy since I am a bachelor and way too much food. Not only is this place great for lunch, their breakfast menu might even be better! Their breakfast Croissant is enormous. With eggs, cheese and your choice of meat: sausage, ham or both! Their breakfast burritos are amazing. The perfect breakfast pick me up and assured to leave you full until lunch or that late lunch. Chili of Rice as D.J.Y. mentioned is a gut bomb. Expect no work after eating this special. Plain white rice topped with chili. Surprisingly good and around $5. Be warned. The only reason I've ever been here is because it is attached to my work building. They have an excellent location where people from surrounding buildings will stop in for breakfast or lunch, and also foot traffic to/from the train station filters in. The King Dome Deli makes its living based on location, not quality of food. They have a lot of options for breakfast and lunch (lots of sandwiches, soup, some teriyaki dishes, etc.). The prices are fair, but I will generally only pop in here when I'm short on time. The two ladies that run the joint are VERY nice and always happy to see you. This little hole in the wall doesn't look like much when you walk in and I don't think the two Korean ladies who run it speak much English which may have lead to some of the reviews saying they were rude. I was just going to get a sandwich but when I saw the Bebimbob, I had to order. It was really good with lots of veggies and what I think was homemade gochujang sauce. Big portions and will have for supper. They had the A/C off when I came in and turned it on when I sat down to eat there. When I told them I didn't need A/c she asked if it was okay to open door for the breeze to which I said yes. Loving this 70 versus 100 degree I came from. I asked for onions on the sandwich and when I got back to work found that there aren't any!
