Just contacted the place. The website says you can call to make an order and their app is not working. Tom, the person on the phone, did not want to help me with my order, I asked for the manager, she said "not here". She was rude and did not want to help. Just do not understand why do I need to download another app on my phone. It needs to be understand that not everyone can do apps and they need to consider that their apps do not work. I arrived at King Egg Roll on Story Rd. at 7:45PM 15 min before closing. I asked the two ladies behind the prepared foods how much for a small container of fried rice and how much for each egg roll. They said $5.50 for a very small container (about the size of a small cup) and egg rolls are $1.45 each. i gave them the look like "Hells nah!! what a ripoff" Both ladies suggested i get the combination plate for $9.50 which has fried rice and 2 egg rolls plus another item. So i accepted and choose fried rice and salt and pepper pork. After i paid for my food i asked where are the two egg rolls... and surprise!! King eggroll has been my favorite cafe, this one is much better than the Lundy one which I actually used to live closer to. They don't name themselves King of Eggroll for nothin, the eggroll is always fresh and succulent, crispy, at least half bigger than typical eggroll you get in restaurants. I used to also like their sandwiches, however they have drastically reduced the offerings, especially sandwich, now you can only get bbq pork sandwich and it is not even in the menu. This place is always consistent and the food is reasonably priced. This is great to pick up party platters or to bring food home for a hungry group of teenagers. If you're from San Jo, and you've never heard of King Eggroll, then you need to crawl out from whatever rock you've been living under. =) Seriously. Eggrolls are the bomb diggity here. I've never been to a party without someone bringing these babies. It has a distinct taste and you will recognize it from anywhere. I went to a party once in SF and someone had ordered a tray of King eggrolls. If that's not loyalty, then I don't know what is. The take-out selection is good but greasy, with combo meals or you can also order a la carte, by the pint or quart. The only thing I have to complain about the meal menu is that if I want to substitute a certain item, they always give me a hard time about it. They have about 8 or so different banh mi sandwiches to choose from. Steamed pork buns, fried chicken drummettes, fried banana triangles, sesame balls, fried shrimp balls (*drools*), fried xiu mai, fried wontons, teriyaki chicken on skewers, just to name a few are all also available to purchase. Dim sum is cheap and good when they're hot and freshly made, $1.75 an order. The dim sum is ALWAYS better tasting here (IMHO) than the location on Lundy Ave for some reason. Anyway, to make a long story short, King Eggroll is a go-to place for parties, no matter how large they are, or just a good place to get decent affordable Chinese food in a jiffy. A bit greasy but hey-- Chinese food wouldn't be Chinese food if it didn't have a bit of grease in it. The only things I go here for are the bbq pork fried rice and bbq pork chow mein because their chicken ones are not good. I've been to this location maybe 15 times in 6 years because they're pretty far from where I live. I went here yesterday, ordered the same thing and I spoke loud to make sure the lady heard me. I waited for a while because they didn't have enough fried rice. Mind you, they have bbq pork fried rice but "chicken" chow mein at the a la carte area so they had to make mine separately because I wanted bbq pork instead. Long story short, I see another lady packing my chow mein from the a la carte area, so I went up and asked her if that was bbq pork and she said no, it's chicken. I said that I told the other lady that I wanted bbq pork. She and another co-worker looked at me and said, "15 minutes". They thought I was gonna say never mind and leave but I said, "ok" because I knew it wasn't gonna take 15 minutes. So I sat down and set my phone timer for 15 minutes and guess what? It was ready in 5 smh. The lady who took my order finally appeared and called me. But instead of apologizing for her mistake, she said, "next time tell me". In a loud voice, I said, "I told you that!" Grabbed my food, turned around, looked at the seated customers who were looking and shook my head. Unbelievable, instead of apologizing, she blamed me.
