This place has been in my saved restaurants for quite some time now and decided to finally give it a shot and wow I am very impressed! Modernized china food takeout restaurant and I'm referring to the look from outside and inside the food itself was 10/10 authentic. The food is amazing we got the Salt and pepper wings - Nic big pieces of chicken wings perfectly fried and seasoned 5/5 Chicken fried rice - nice smoky flavorful great taste 5/5 Chicken chow mein - Nice thin noodles tossed with vegetables. I did enjoy it but not my absolute favorite I feel like it was missing a bit more soy sauce for my liking but it was good so can't complain too much 4/5 Orange chicken - Saucy , Crispy , Flavorful pieces of chicken tossed in orange peel sauce my favorite 5/5 beef in hoisin sauce - slices of thin beef tossed in a hosin based sauce with sautéed vegetables while again not my first choice (I had my daughter with me so no spice on food was mandatory) it was good but lacked some type of flavor for my liking but it wasn't bad if I wasn't into spice I could see myself going for this dish 3.5/5 Overall I would definitely come back and will be back to try different dishes for my first time here I was really impressed! Family was dying to take me here after our old Chinese go-to spot went down hill. Never even knew this place existed but I'd say it's a pretty decent Chinese option in Southside San Jose. Family made a reservation and sat at just a normal table but I shortly requested a table with a Lazy Susan. Wanted to make the experience more fun for my family. Craving some authentic Chow Mein noodles, so I went to China Delight on Cottle. I can't believe I lived in this area all my life and I have never tried this spot. I loved the look of this restaurant and the customer service was top notch. The Chow Mein definitely satisfied my craving. The pot stickers and sweet sour pork were all cooked to perfection. Very cozy restaurant! The staff are friendly and always happy to help with recommendations. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, but my absolute favorite is the prawns with honey walnut. When we got home and opened the pork fried rice it was mostly white with some egg and very little pork. We ordered extra spicy Kung Pao Chicken and it was not spicy at all and had very little flavor. My best friend used to live in this area and this was our go to spot back then. The food still holds up today and it's amazing. I go to China Delight on Cottle Road for Chinese every 7 to 10 days, usually carry-out. I'm the kind of customer they like; I know what to order, place my order by phone, and tip, even for to-go food. Last week, my order wasn't up, so I ordered a beer to pass the wait time. The cashier charged me $13 and became indignant when I balked at the price! He told me "I was getting PREMIUM beer, in a BIG BOTTLE - 16 oz!" A moment later, a 12-oz. bottle was dropped off at my table, only partially chilled and without even a glass! I wanted to complain long and loud, but the place was busy, so I deferred to others waiting to order or pick up. Also they forgot to give us chili oil with out dishes. Fried rice was good and I like the Mongolian beef was not as dry but it would've been much better with a bit more spice. We decided to try this place out. We had hot and sour soup, broccoli beef, Lemon chicken. Tea is not served in a pot, but individual cups with tea bags. (and cost $3.50). I miss those old traditions. The food was decent. the lemon chicken had lots of flavor; the broccoli beef needed more flavor. The soup was ok. One thing that really caught our eye was the amount of self-marketing they had. Celebrated my mom's 85th birthday at China Delight tonight. This is one of my family's favorite restaurants; we've been coming here for years. There was no wait for six of us at 5:30pm on a Saturday night, even though it was pretty busy. We ordered lots of food-- egg flower soup, broccoli beef, chicken and veggies, lemon chicken, steamed rice, and my favorite, egg foo young. They served our soup first and after we were done brought out our dishes, which we shared family style. Everything was hot and delicious, as usual. The service was fine. As soon as you walk in the smell of food hits you (so yummy) It smells so amazing and it's pretty clean. The food is never going to be a letdown and has a bunch of different varieties to choose from. However, there's two downsides to this place, which made me give it four out of five stars. First, they can be pretty rude there. It's not bad service, definitely not the worst that I've experienced. But it ruins the mood. Second, there's only one stall in the women's bathroom. I know this isn't the biggest issue nor can be changed, but I wasn't a big fan. Overall, I will keep coming back because the food is really good and the place is nice and kept clean. I would just say keep an eye out for the service. Very good food! We had the prawns with spicy garlic sauce, shrimp chow mein, black pepper beef, and chicken chow fun. Delicious flavor, not too salty, not oily. I've been here about five times now and have liked it each time. So the food has been consistently good. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is a delight - good chunks of lightly battered Chicken in flavorful sauce. The Orange Chicken is a good choice too. The Veggie Fried Rice is excellent. The main highlight to our visits have been: the Chinese Chicken Salad. It's SO good, like BEYOND good! Wait, it's SO good that we enjoy an order there and have taken an order to go for the next day (or later that evening. We've tried the Hot & Sour soup and I say skip it for lack of flavor. The young guys serving are nice. One of the older guys is a bit staid, nearly dismissive. The mid-aged lady was friendly enough. The only down side is they no longer do any delivery service. Had a wonderful lunch here yesterday with my husband. I loved how they decorated the restaurant. It's really beautiful inside with lots of tables. The chairs are noticeably very comfortable too. We both ordered or main meals from the lunch specials section of the menu. I had the orange peel chicken with fried rice and my husband ordered the Szechwan pepper chicken with fried rice. We also ordered a chicken salad with steamed chicken instead of the breaded and fried chicken. We had Jasmine tea for our drink. My orange chicken was so delicious. I'd say it was the best I've ever had. My husband really enjoyed his Szechwan chicken. We both thought the fried rice was worth the extra $1. Our salad was very good and refreshing.
