Ocean Pearl is my parents' go-to Chinese dinner on a weekly basis. They're so regular here they've made friends with some of the staff who let them call to make special reservations lol I've come here twice with my family and each time we've had a wonderful meal. Ocean Pearl is located in Milpitas Square off Barber Lane. It is the very last building to the left. The inside is split into 2 main rooms - the first a small waiting room with an area to order roast duck/pork to-go, and a larger dining area with big round tables, lazy susans, and fish on display. Some of the dishes I've tried: - Roast pork - this comes in a half or full order. The meat is pretty standard, slightly dry. But the skin is nice and crisp. - Cold poached golden chicken - the star is the ginger scallion sauce that comes with this dish. The chicken meat is also juicy, but lotta bones. - Salted egg yolk fried shrimp - one of our favorites and is great fresh. Good crunchy shell and tasty salted egg yolk flavor. - Salt and pepper fried fish filets - another one of our favorites. This comes with jalapeno and garlic pieces. The batter is slightly sweet but airy. - Beef chow fun - great, greasy, beefy. Can't go wrong - Special combo fried rice - this has fish roe and crab with lap cheong. It's good, but not my personal favorite. - Stir fried pork belly with green beans - great option for fatty meat and some fiber. Service is quick and if we ever wanted to add a dish, it gets put in and comes out just as quickly. Every time we come out super full and with a ton of leftovers still. I see why my parents continue to return!

Big Chinese restaurant in Milpitas. The parking lot can get super crowded, so definitely get there early. Chinese food was just okay and pricey. I would rather go to mayflower vs. Ocean Pearl. We had the following: - House Pan Fried noodle - 7/10. The noodles weren't crispy enough and thicker than usual - pea sprouts - 9/10. Good portion size and wok flavor - salt and pepper fish - 8/10. Nice light crispy batter - Singapore noodles - 7/10 - hot and sour soup - 7/10 - beef chow fun - 8/10 Service was a bit slow and we had to flag down the waitresses a few times. They have 2 clean single-stall bathrooms (1 for men and 1 for women).

Very authentic Cantonese food. Portions are very good. Service is pretty fast also. The bbq meat here is very good. The chow fun had great Wok-hei. The rice rolls were solid. Restaurant is modern and clean. No wait on a Saturday lunch.

Good local spot for traditional Cantonese style flavors as well as roasted duck, pork belly, and soy sauce chicken! I've been here a handful of times and usually order the same dishes. Here's what I would recommend: ginger scallion lobster (they usually have a deal for 2 - 1lb lobsters for around $40+ dollars), salt and pepper chicken wings, pan-fried noodles with seafood, beef stir fry with mushrooms and bell peppers, seafood clay pot, side order of roasted duck or pork belly! They also serve complimentary sweet green bean dessert at the end of your meal. Overall prices are $25+ on average per dish, good portion for sharing with family, but yes on the pricey side. I like coming to this restaurant because it's smaller than most other Chinese restaurants, the max occupancy is about ~100 people. It does get busy but if you can come earlier for dinner at 5:30pm or so you should be fine. #25-12-15

Expect to wait to be seated. Really good dinner menu. Lots of wok hei in stir fries and noodles, best fried rice I've had in a long time. Good quality meats and seafood at very fair prices. Recommend their drier vegetable stir fries, duck, and clam soup to my taste. Others as well like beef stir fries and fish maw soup. Because they are so busy you might have to tell multiple servers to recieve water, etc but nothing crazy. Solid spot busy for a reason.

We came here on Saturday dinner after a concert . It was 7:45 pm . The parking lot was pretty full and we parked a little farther than walked back to the restaurant. Inside all the tables were taken. We waited 15 minutes two tables for 10 and one table for 4 were available. We took the table for 4. Most items on the menu are delicious. This is an authentic Cantonese style restaurant. Portion of the dinner dishes were huge ! Ingredients were fresh and I admired the cooking skill of the chef ! We ordered eight treasures seafood fried rice . It came inside a clay pot and a heating pad under to keep it warm while dinning . It had shrimps , cuttlefish, etc and was stirred fry enough to get the " wok chee " 鍋氣! I loved the steamed giant clams in garlic over cellphone noodles 蒜茸粉絲蒸貴妃蚌。This is the portion of only 2 giant clams . The juice were sweet and intensely aromatic. We ordered the French style beef cube . The sauce was super sweet ( sugar ) that I didn't prefer . The beef was tender and I could taste the baking soda they used to tenderize the beef . This was my least favorite dish . I loved the cooked vegetables pea sprouts tips in minced garlic and covered with dried scallop gravy. It was delicious and healthy. Huge portion. We had a party of four and almost could not finish eating it . There were many other items on the menu . It looked good and we would be back soon !

Consistent, but Not Quite What It Used to Be Overall Impression Having visited a year ago, I decided to stop back in to see if this spot still held up. While the meal is still a solid, dependable option, I noticed some distinct changes since my last visit. One silver lining? There is no longer a long line to deal with, making it a much faster "in and out" for a weekday lunch. Food Quality & Portions I opted for the Weekday Lunch Special, which comes as a complete set: soup, vegetables, rice, chicken, and BBQ pork. The presentation remains beautiful and clean. However, compared to my experience last year, the portion sizes feel smaller. The flavors are still "average-good"--reliable and satisfying, but lacking that punch of seasoning that makes a dish truly stand out. Value & Atmosphere The pricing is still very reasonable for the variety you receive, making it a budget-friendly pick in a mall filled with more expensive choices. The atmosphere is calm and the service is attentive, likely because the crowds have thinned out. Suggestions for the Kitchen While the meal is pleasant, I think it's time for a menu refresh. With so much competition nearby and the portions decreasing, introducing some new, bold lunch items would definitely help bring back that "must-visit" energy. Recommendation A reliable choice for a quick, no-fuss lunch. Great if you're in a hurry since the long lines are a thing of the past, but keep your expectations tempered regarding the portion sizes

The quick rundown for you: + Sichuan string beans with pork belly is a generous portion with lots of meat and not overly spicy where my 11yo daughter can eat it (5 stars) + Beef with mushrooms and bell peppers were my kids' favorite because their meat is tender and cooked medium rare. The kids didn't eat the veggies but they devoured all of the protein. (5 stars) + Seafood fried rice has a salted egg flavor with lots of shrimp and assorted seafood. My wife came all the way here for this dish. I felt like it was better the first time we ate it many months ago. (4 stars) ~ Ambiance is quite nice for a Cantonese style restaurant serving bbq but don't come too late because all of the bbq meats were not available around 8pm (3 stars) - Service is so so here but we did come near closing time. Water didn't get refilled as much as we'd like. (3 stars) Hope this helps someone who's hungry for decent Chinese food!

Came here with my parents on a Tuesday night around 6 pm. Service was excellent and efficient. The food was delicious! My parents and I absolutely loved everything we ordered. My favorite was the chicken clay pot( in the photo) , so full of flavor. Portions are huge too. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Food and parking check. The place looks so comfortable with their chairs. Reminds me of eating in a super cool dining room. Came here at 5 pm and plenty of parking. Long ago pre-covid the parking was horrendous. The place is located in the corner. The entrance, you are welcomed by the ducks which were hanging. Chinese deli. Food was great. Big portions and tasty. Their roast pork was crunchy. Duck with tiny taco bread buns that does disintegrate. The Peking pork just had meat, didn't have bone. The best human chicken. The big lobster, 2 lobsters for $50. This was a celebration of four birthdays so we had a feast. Service was accommodating and great. No attitude at all. Love this place.

Eating here was a true Canto experience. They were super busy during lunch time so they sat us at a table with strangers. Hard to call over servers because it's that dang busy. I would go in smaller groups so you don't have to wait for them to clean and set up a table! * Macau Roasted Pork Belly - 5/5 stars. Just pay the extra money and get this roasted pork. It was delicious and absolutely crunchy. Didn't need to eat it with the sauce it came with because it was just that good. * Beef Rice Roll - 2.5/5 stars. The texture and flavor of the beef was good but I noticed the beef wasn't in the actual rice roll, it's kinda stir fried on the side. Just wish they gave extra sauce with this dish because the rice rolls lacked flavor. * Soy Sauce Chow Mein - 5/5 stars. I'm not sure if it was on the menu or something you have to ask the server to order. It was so good and flavorful (wok hei). Overall 4/5 stars. Gets busy during lunch time since they have lunch specials. Food still is good though.

The flavor is comforting and well-balanced without being overly salty, and the texture is smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend pairing it with their dough stick (youtiao). It's crispy on the outside, slightly chewy inside, while still staying light and fluffy. Dipping it into the congee completely changes the experience and honestly feels like a must-order combination. Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. Almost every table had some combination of congee, rice rolls, and steamed dishes, which seems to be the way to go here. Overall, this is the kind of place that becomes easy to return to once you find your favorite dishes.

The Shrimp Rice Rolls are the clear star--the rice noodle is incredibly smooth and thin, which is the mark of a great chang fen. They don't skimp on the shrimp, and the sweet soy sauce ties it all together perfectly. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. The Pork Congee is also a winner; it's silky, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cold day or when you're craving something soothing. We also grabbed the Shiu Mai, which were plump and well-seasoned with a great meat-to-shrimp ratio. The kitchen is efficient, and the flavors are consistently authentic. It's a reliable spot for a great quality, traditional meal that never misses the mark. Prices are reasonable and service is fairly quick but there's also a QR code for an optional online ordering for some.

The Chinese sausage pieces sprinkled throughout added extra flavor too. The bowl is deep so there seemed to be roughly 5 cups of rice. Unfortunately the laksa shrimp fried rice was disappointing in comparison. It didn't have much flavor overall - better than plain rice but definitely needed more seasoning. The menu lists homemade laksa sauce as an ingredient but we didn't taste that, and the dish wasn't spicy at all either despite the 1 chili pepper rating. But it looked just like the menu picture so maybe the description is wrong. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce came with 6 pieces. Very juicy. We also enjoyed the herbal roasted prime steak with sausage rice. The delicious rice had the taste of fish sauce. Most of the short rib slices were soft and a few were slightly chewy but overall decent quality. Some of the fattier pieces of meat were still attached to the bone.

For example, certain condiments or dipping sauces for your dim sum or glasses of water, extra napkins, etc. Request that stuff when the wait staff first show up or when you order. The ambiance is your typical Chinese restaurant. Simple and clean enough considering how long this restaurant has been in business. Nice chandeliers. Busy on the weekends for those coming in for dim sum. Restaurant is a decent size and has tables that are good for larger parties as well. Located in a busy plaza which houses many eateries near Lion Supermarket.

The staff is friendly and nice including the owner who knows my go to meal which is beat tendon stew with turnip. I have had other dishes and they are all superb and delicious. Not sure what all the complaints about the food are but I have dined in a lot of Chinese dim sum places including Koi Palace and I love this place more. I have not ordered a dish I did not like and I have tried quite a few of the chef specials already. Ambiance is huge and wide open with nice tables and cloth. I go after work at around 7pm and there is a nice spattering of regulars but I know this place gets crowded in the weekend.. Price is fair but the food and ingredients high quality so I don't care as good food trumps price. I love this place and am happy the owners and staff recognize me. The food is superb and tasty and the ambiance perfect when not busy. I highly recommend coming here for an awesome food and chef to table experience!

The 9 of us had the prefix $688 menu. There was a lot of food. Many other people had the same dinner. The food was fresh and piping hot. I liked the combination fried rice. It was loaded and had some crunchy tidbits on top. They was also a steak dish that came with shrimp that was delicious. It was also nice to be able to shop after dinner as there is a TJ Maxx Home goods right next door.

They also have the carts that go around that you can directly pick from after ordering your original order off of the paper. The food comes out pretty fast, even though they're super busy. Har Gow is my favorite so those were pretty good, the wrapper was not too thick 4/5, same with the siu mai. The beef chow fun was pretty greasy but that's pretty typical with this dish, the color was pretty nice on the noodles too 4/5. They offer Jasmine hot tea or chrysanthemum hot tea, and water when requested. Again pretty typical Dim Sum experience, nothing too extravagant or out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey. I would go here again with my family, probably not first choice though

About a month ago, hubby and I came here for an early lunch on a Sunday. We came in time before…read morenoon as the restaurnt became quite busy after. We were seated near the kitchen so we were able to look in and see BTS. The restaurant is very spacious, clean and bright with a modern design. There are booth tables against wall and tables in the middle of the restaurant. A QR code is is availble at the table for you to view menu and order. I actually like this better as I don't feel rush to order and gives me the chance to look through the menu without feeling rush to order. Iced water was brought out instantly. We ordered the following: 1. Lamb skewer, spicy: you can smell the intensity of the spice when the dish was brought out from the chili powder. The meat is moist and grilled well w/ a nice crisp. There is no gamey smell. I took a first bite but the chili powder slightly burned my gums. Had to ask Hubby to shake some of the chili poweder off the skewers for me. Its a messy dish but very tasty. 2. Spicy beef soup w/ wide noodles: Noodles are HUGE! About 1.5 inches wide and forever long. I had to use the scissors to cut it up. Noodles are good. Chewey texture just as I like it. Comes with a whole egg and beef. The broth has a nice spice to it and unlike other spicy noodle soup I've tried, it does not taste oily or overwhelmed with spices esp Sze Chuan chilis. It had a good balace of savory and spiciness. 3. Wide noodles w/ braised chicken: This dish is delish but it's a BIG dish like a whole chicken was prepared! Can feed up to 4-5 people. It's the size of a medium pizza or even a Large. The thick sauce is very flavorful but not salty. It comes with potatoes, carrots, onions, green bell peppers, and dried whole chili. Its not spicy but may be for kids as we have a high spicy tolerance. Only thing about this plate I didn't like it there's bones. We ended 2 more meals with the leftover. The noodles are hand pulled in house as we sat by the kitchen and saw the kitchen staff making it. Food comes out pretty quick and service is very good. The staff are very attentive and met our needs promptly. We definitely will return to try other plates as the menu is pretty big.
