I'm so happy I decided to visit yasu guys, I had the most amazing experience!…read more If you love Greek flavors but also appreciate a modern, creative spin on classic dishes, this place absolutely delivers in all aspects! I ordered their Chicken Crunch Wrap, which is their take on a Greek gyro but reimagined in a way that feels fresh and fun. Think traditional gyro flavors like seasoned chicken, creamy sauces, crisp veggies, but wrapped up in a perfectly toasted, golden, handheld format that gives you that satisfying crunch in every bite. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, not dry at all. The balance of textures is what really got me. The tender meat, cool and creamy elements, and that crisp outer layer that ties everything together. It's comforting but also feels elevated at the same time. What I loved most is that it didn't feel greasy or heavy. Sometimes wraps like this can feel overwhelming, but this was flavorful without being too much. Every bite had that herby, savory Greek profile, but with a modern street-food twist that makes it super craveable. And the baklava cheesecake! I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the best cheesecakes I've had in a long time. It's such a genius concept that combines the rich, creamy texture of cheesecake with the sweet, nutty, honeyed layers of baklava. The cheesecake itself was smooth and decadent, not overly sweet, and the baklava elements added that perfect crunch and warmth from the spices and nuts. The service was beyond great, seriously feels like I stepped into a place where they treat everyone like family. Super hospitable and welcoming. There were some regulars there when I visited and they talk amongst themselves like if they're family as well. I loved the vibes here! Overall, Yasu Guys really impressed me. It feels like a spot that understands traditional flavors but isn't afraid to experiment and modernize them. The food is well-executed, and genuinely exciting. If you're into Greek food but want something a little different from the usual gyro plate, this is your place. Already planning my next visit! Thank you for having me.

It's frustrating to spend money and end up with food you didn't even ask for. And then there's the sauce... I don't know what's in it, but it's so ridiculously spicy it feels like it could double as a fire starter. Completely overpowers everything and makes the food almost inedible. Between the messed-up orders and the over-the-top heat, this was a pretty disappointing experience. Definitely not rushing back anytime soon. UPDATE: (in response to owner since I cannot respond) No one put me up to this, it's an honest review. I ordered through Uber Eats so fixing the order wasn't an option. The fire starter is the Chipotle Aioli you seem to put on all your dishes (at least the items on my order.) this was not requested but is an ingredient included. Instead of a having a helpful response I get a very sarcastic tone from you. Was hoping for an overall better experience.

Souvlaki delivers on all cylinders with great customer service from Mr. Tony, who mentioned it was him and his mom working the kitchen that night (we came in around 9:10pm). Tony was very friendly and helpful to us in making a decision by describing the menu with detail which made it easy to decide what to order. Tony explained that they want to be a healthy late night option for patrons as they close at 11pm, also, the featured meats are halal. We ordered the lamb and beef shawarma wrap which come with fries. Canned and bottled drinks are availible to order as well. I really enjoyed the freshness of the Ingredients in the wrap, which was a pretty good size. Crunchy veggies, savory meat and sauce wrapped in what I believe is lavash thin flatbread. A classic wrap which did fill me up in a good way, it did feel like a healthy and nutritious type of full. It is complemented by salty fries which were cooked to perfection, we dipped our wraps and fries in some Tzatziki to top it off. The ambiance is chill, since it was late, we were able to get the bar style table availible at the window to dine in. Since it is located in the LA collection of chefs kitchens, they have a very small lobby/limited dining space so plan to enjoy 'to go', I'm not sure if the collection has a cafeteria style dining room somewhere. Parking is limited, sidewalk spaces. Give them a try if youre in the mood for some good late night Greek food!

While their lamb shawarma has been my go-to, I've tried a more affordable option that's new on the menu: beef lule shawarma. The lule is sized over average in comparison to other Mediterranean shops, I would say 1/3rd pound uncooked. Very juicy and savory. Pairs well with the sumac onion salad and the aforementioned condiments. No fries with this, but at less than $11 out the door, this high protein shawarma was a no brainer. Will make a lot of nearby burrito shops a run for their money. I will definitely come back for more! Thank you!

First time trying Nick the Greek on Lankershim and whew... it's fire!…read more We had the beef and lamb gyro combo with fries and a drink, plus an extra side of tzatziki because I absolutely love tzatziki. I noticed they have Greek fries topped with feta, tzatziki, and a bunch of other good stuff. They looked amazing, so that's definitely on my list for next time. For drinks, they have a soft drink machine with Pepsi products. They also had a couple of juices: strawberry dragon fruit and mandarin cardamom. Both were delicious on their own, but then I mixed them together and--oh Lordt!--it was a game changer. "The juice combo was accidental. The obsession is intentional." The gyro was a 10/10. The meat was tender, the bread was so soft and fluffy I would've eaten it by itself, and everything tasted fresh. It was also surprisingly light and it didn't overfill me. Perfect portions. I even learned a few Greek that are root words for English words while I was there. Getcha eat on and ya learn on. .....,Message! Now let me tell you about the froyo. I got vanilla, expecting regular vanilla froyo. Nope. It looks ordinary, but somehow it's extra creamy and custardy, with this subtle citrusy note--maybe lemon? I don't know exactly what it is, but it's fantastical! It danced on my tongue. They also have Dubai chocolate flavors and chocolate-shell options if that's your thing. The inside was cozy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and service was lightening fast! No notes. I'd absolutely go back.
