    Vegetable Lo Mein

Just not a good pick up order experience. Got a vegetable lo mein order wrong - they put meat in it :( so had to call and pick up an order done right. Food is just mid too especially for the 15+ dollar prices for what yah get. Idk i don't like doing bad reviews but this wasn't it, chief.

I'm annoyed at my Chinese restaurant right now and my Co-worker swears by this place so I decided to try it out. Carryout takes a little longer here due to the chef is a perfectionist. If it isn't perfect it'll be scrapped and started over. So make sure you plan for 35 minutes for your food. I ordered General Tso chicken and some Crab Ragoons. The General Tso was very good. A little spicier than my normal place but very very good. The crab ragoons were also very good. My only complaint was not enough sweet and Sour sauce with it. Overall I'd give 5 stars. Would I return? Yes, very soon. Well this revoew changed fast. I ordered the General Tso and an eggroll. About half of the chicken was super tough. The good half tasted very good though. Also the eggroll is nowhere near as good as my normal place. I am dropping my rating down to 3 1/2 stars. I am going to give them the benefit of doubt and round up to 4.

My eternal quest for quality Pho Ga led me to Golden 28 one evening for dinner. I was thrilled when I saw all of the 4 and 5 star reviews on Yelp. Alas, my experience and their Pho Ga leave much to be desired. As far as I could tell, their Pho Ga is served with a beef broth - not a chicken broth. And as far as broth goes - it just was not that flavorful. The chicken was tender and the noodles were not clumped, and the veggies/aromatics were fresh. I did have to request sliced Jalapeños as they did not provide any on the dish. So they did bring some out - although they were some of the mildest I've had in a long time - not much heat. I ended up applying a lot Sriracha sauce to individual bites and to the broth to give it some real flavor. They have a wide range of other menu items. Service was very good.

This was how the plate came to our table but they were stacked. Ewww

This is not a bad place but with so many choices, it's not at the top of any list. Too many other good options. The food was rather bland. All tofu and vegetarian dishes are served in beef or chicken sauce. That means there are no vegetarian options. The restaurant was generally dirty as were our dishes. Vegetables were fresh as was the chicken and fish dishes. We had Vegetable Delight, Chicken and Broccoli and Shrimp and Scallops. All three dishes were in the same sauce. I did pick up a hint of mint leaf in the vegetable delight but other than that, mostly bland.

#140: Rice with grilled pork chop, egg, pickled veggies, and shredded pork.

We were in Grand Rapids for the day and we wanted something that we didn't have in Ann Arbor, which is good Vietnamese food. Golden 28 popped up first on Yelp and the reviews were helpful in making a sound decision to come here for lunch. My boyfriend had a vermicelli dish with pork chop, shrimp, and an egg roll. I had a rice plate with pork chop, an egg, and shredded pork (#140). I was thrilled when the server asked me if I wanted plain white rice or broken rice. Broken rice? For real? That's an option IN Michigan? In addition, we also ordered a bowl of pho to share (#9) and it was also very good. I can't express how happy the food made me. I grew up in Cali and am used to having places like Golden 28 lining up busy streets and for a moment I was temporarily transported back again. No major complaints about this place at all except that it's on the west side of the state. I wish there was one in Ann Arbor...

Pho Tom (shrimp pho) is amazing

Pho,my weakness,my love. It's so amazingly good here,I find myself visiting way more than I should. I actually can only review the pho because I haven't tried anything else. The add on's are always so fresh too. I've dined in numerous times & the employees are very kind every time. Not a bad experience yet. Most of the time I get it to go without calling ahead and the wait is never long. No complaints from me,keep it up!

Pho tai here is pretty decent. It is better than getting pho at Far East.

I came in around 5:30 to pick up some banh mi for dinner. I think bc of the time, the bread must have been stale from when they baked it in the morning... to give you an idea, I didn't have them toast it, and when I ate it in the car on the drive home, it was crumbly, there were big pieces of crumbs everywhere. The meat portion was also little in comparison to the baguette. I also got a few snacks from the fridge: the coconut jelly, flan, and yogurt. The coconut jelly was bad, the white part (coconut milk gelatin) had gone sour. The clear part was still good - which I took a chance at bc it was $5... The flan did not taste fresh, the texture was that of a yogurt that had solidified and kind of liquidy... The yogurt was actually good, probably bc yogurt can't go bad... I also got the banh cuon and com chay, both of those were fortunately good. However the com chay container was stapled shut on multiple sides which made it a pain to open with the risk of the staples also landing in the com chay. Overall, I get that Vietnamese food might be scarce in the GR area, but quality was really lacking and if you had not had banh mi in a major metro area, you wouldn't know any better... I didn't come back and probably won't...

I stopped in recently and got a couple of bánh mì and some gỏi cuốn tôm (shrimp summer rolls). There is a kiosk where you can order, which makes it easy as it has photos and you can tap to pay. If you need a receipt, be sure to ask at the counter, as the machine didn't print me one. It only took a few minutes to get our order and we got to watch the employee assemble our tasty sandwiches. I got the bánh mì Đặc biệt (special combination) and Nate ordered the bánh mì thịt nướng (BBQ pork). The bánh mì are still my favorite in town, with perfectly crispy yet soft bread, fresh veggies and herbs, and delicious meat. The BBQ pork was my favorite this time, even though I always order the special combination. The summer rolls were refreshing and we love the dipping sauce.

It's authentic, fresh, clean and friendly. I need to post some pics but wanted to review because it's that good and I want them to stay open! Many of the dishes are great but these 3 dishes I order consistently. -any of the Pho soups - good flavor, not too much MSG, very large bowls, fresh add in veggies, perfect amount of meat -Pho Ap Chao - very large serving with tons of veggies, beef and seafood. The shrimp is good quality not that pumped up, weird textured stuff. And this is how pan fried wide thick noodles should be prepared, crispy and a little burnt on the bottom -Cảnh ga chiến nước mủm (fried chicken wings in fish sauce and garlic) - savory, a little sweet, not a ton of breading. It's a lot of wings so could be shared as an appetizer but I normally eat it with rice as a meal. I do wish they had a stir fry veggie dish but we order it with Pho Ap Chao and share family style. Just a few mentions they could improve on. Add a stir fry dish, the Com Sung Trứng dish is not very flavorful and sometimes they run out of dishes things. Overall its quality, authentic, great food.
