Now this is the place to get good fried seafood. The flounder was fresh, the shrimp were plump and I love waffle fries. Don't forget to check out the onion rings! This is where the locals go and dine in to the sounds of classic rock radio station. I'm from NOLA and this place made me feel at home! Do not go anywhere else when in Corpus if you want casual seafood dinning. There was also a drive thru and the line was out to the street (this is not fast food) and the food is made to order so read the menu and call your order in if using the drive thru or just picking up inside. If I didn't trust Yelp, no way I would have stopped. This looks like a dive. However, it's obvious the locals like it as there was a steady stream of take out customers. We timed it right before it got "crowded"...and the poor ac couldn't keep up so be warned. The food? Oh my. Flounder was perfect, and I mean perfect. Shrimp was very good too. A bargain to boot at 8$ or so, No oysters when we visited which was too bad. I recommend, just be prepared for the poor ac if you eat in. read more

My number one spot when I'm in Corpus Christi. Hidden treasure! love their hush puppies, shrimp cocktail and lemonade! I always, always make sure I stop by for all my seafood cravings, it's cheap and very tasty. They recently got new tables and chairs, which I think makes this little joint look a lot nicer. I first went to King Seafood in the year 2014 and I will continue going as long as their delicious food is available. I definitely recommend this place. it's not fancy, it's very simple and small. It may look empty at times but it fills up quickly, wouldn't say it's a good place to sit down if you're going in a large group or need lots of space for your children. They do accept credit cards but they have a minimum of $10 dollars. read more

It was OK. I had the 6pc shrimp, my husband had a fish po'boy and my girl had the chicken strips. The shrimp and po'boy were good but my daughter didn't like the chicken strips. The waffle fries weren't the best and I didn't like the tarter sauce. They charge 75 cents for refills which kind of sucks when the drinks were 2 dollars. I wouldn't make a special trip out here but if you're hungry for seafood and in the area, give it a try. read more

I have lived in Corpus Christi for 20 years and tonight was my first time here and OH MY GOSH!! AMAZING! We had the flounder platter with coleslaw and I'm hooked.... I agree with the other comments in the fish tacos and tartar sauce being exceptionally good. The fried shrimp were also very tasty.

I stick with the more basic dishes (flounder, drum, catfish platters), but the food and sides such as cole slaw and hush puppies are really tasty and fresh. The one down side is the drive is the small size and the drive-through, where they don't come out to take your order while you wait in line nor have you pull ahead. They lose cars pulling away who get tired of waiting and go elsewhere. If you have the time, it is worth grabbing lunch here esp. in off-peak times. read more

Fish tasted fishy and breaded with corn meal, food was over priced. The fries were cold horrible food. They charge for water and count how many refills you have. I would not recommend if you really want fish and chips. read more

This is absolutely our favorite stop for fried seafood. In driving by, you would never expect this place to be so great. Thankfully due to the Yelpers out there, we sought this place out and have looked forward to our annual beach trip must-stop all year, every year. Went by this place on spontaneous visit. Food is good not great. Shrimp is small, oysters are small, lots of fries not enough seafood. Prices are steep for this side of town. Nickel n dime you on refills for drink to extra tartar sauce. For $34.27 for 2 people eating lunch I can eat on the Southside and save on gas/time. read more

A friend & I just had lunch here. Although it is well rated, and that's why we chose it, it does not have super curb appeal and is not in a fancy part of town. We entered into a small, bare bones dining area and placed our order at the window. My friend ordered the drum plate, grilled and I had the flounder plate, grilled. OMG! The fish were some of the best we've had on this trip. We traded bites to taste each other's food and I couldn't decide if one was better than the other. The food came out piping hot, super well seasoned and perfectly cooked. It was delicious! And reasonably priced. I will have to go back to try other things on the menu. It was excellent! read more

Saw this place had a 4.0 rating compared to many restaurants near my hotel, this is one of the highest rated. I couldn't see how that was possible. Maybe I came at the wrong time. The young lady in the front taking my order apparently was having a bad day. She was rude to the point where she tossed the change back at me and when she took other peoples orders she never made eye contact, no smile, and if they asked a question she would role her eyes say at them as if they should know what they wanted as soon as they got to the window. Maybe I'm expecting a different kind of service since it had a 4.0 rating. I had their special, flounder and shrimp. The flounder was awesome and had good texture. The shrimps on the hand had too much breading and was obvious they came from a bag. They tasted like the ones you would buy at a Walmart. I expected something better since they were charging $1.25 extra for each shrimp. Their sweet tea was good though. read more

King's Seafood is by far one of the best seafood restaurants in town. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. The fish may or may not have bones in it (it does say that on menu) unfortunately, we did find a bone so now ordering fish presents a challenge. Other than that an excellent seafood meal. They truly know what they are doing. Arrive early otherwise you have a long wait, to make it easier and quicker phone your order. read more

Stopped by on the way to the airport for an early lunch. Ordered the fried fish, shrimp, oyster, crab, waffle fry combo, to go. Perfect, perfect, perfect, very good, good. The breading on the seafood was fantastic, all the seafood was moist and wonderful and FLAMING hot (temperature). I was half way to the airport by the time I could really dig in. The fish was perfectly cooked, the oysters were sweet and outstanding, the stuffed crab was good but lots of bread in the stuffing, and the waffle fries were not quite hot enough (hence the 1 star demerit). The service was super friendly and prompt and the physical building was nice and divey, which is exactly right by me. After all, you go for the food, right? The excellent food was well worth the modest cost. And the real test of a fried food bonanza is how you feel a half hour after you eat. Test passed: nothing but happy tummy. Great place. read more

Fried "seafood"? If you describe seafood as fried "fish" (no other description given on the menu) or fried shrimp or fried oysters, then this is your place. However, if you are looking for actual seafood, try another spot. I had the fried shrimp and my wife had the fried fish tacos. While the food was serviceable, it was expensive and likely came pre-battered from Sysco. The building is small, 6 tables or so and was still busy at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. I think the folks in the neighborhood around this place keep it busy and this fits their idea of seafood. All that being said, the best item was the hush puppy's and they were $2.75 for 4 about the size of large marbles, YIKES! read more
