Rib tips and mac n cheese

I hit the jackpot with this bbq food truck!!! If you want tender, well seasoned smoked bbq and the most delicious sides and you haven't hit up Kingpin BBQ you are missing out Seeing the posts and videos I had to check this place out. I was not disappointed Everything is as good as it looks if not better. I didn't even need to put the bbq sauce on any of the meat because the rub seasoning is Exceptional - Mac 'n' Cheese / Collard Greens/ Ribs / Rib Tips / Smoked Chicken / Pulled Pork / Hot Link Check out this video review... https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJx42cVpbyo/?igsh=MWNyNnU5bDRkeTlqNg==

Let me first start off by saying, I am a very impatient person when it comes to waiting in line especially in the heat. I do believe there is possibly a faster process for them when it comes to ordering. But I do understand they don't want the kitchen to be behind. I pulled up at 6:57 and there was a line maybe about eight people that were in front of me in the line but I didn't think I was going to be waiting an hour before I even ordered my food. The price is actually a decent price. The young lady that takes your order is very sweet and she was sure to greet everybody with a smile. The food I have absolutely no complaints at all. It was worth the wait. I give them a 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back in the future for more.

We waited in line at the food truck for over an hour and holy sh*t was it worth the wait. This has to be the best barbecue in Arizona. The meat is flavorful and smokey...literally fall off the bone ribs. Cannot wait to eat again 9.4/10

Shrimp Mac and Cheese Plate with Hot link and Texas Toast

My husband and I tried Kingpin after following them on IG for a few months and their food did NOT disappoint. I ordered their Jumbo Shrimp Mac & Cheese with a hot link and my husband order their beef tips w/waffle fries and turkey leg w/ Cajun shrimp and sauce. It was delicious! The turkey leg was literally fall off the bone, delicious and flavorful. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of it. The Mac and cheese was a nice consistency and came with so many shrimp. I do wish they had an option to add the Cajun sauce/shrimp that came on the turkey leg to the Mac and cheese because they were also delicious! I personally like spice and heat with my BBQ so I would've liked a little more kick to my hot link. But the flavors are incredible, the meat was nicely cooked and a little red hots did the trick nicely. For those who prefer less heat, their bbq sauce is a traditional sweet/tangy and also very good. The amount of food given is exceptionally generous for the price. We ended up needing to take the beef tips and some of the turkey leg home. They saved well even the next day and we will definitely be returning. Some advice for first timers: come expecting a line and to wait a bit. Good food takes time so get there early! We came right at open and they had a line of 10-15 people already waiting. Given the limited space and manpower they do pause at times to catch up on orders. But that being said, the wait is well worth it!

Plate with greens, ribs, chicken, hot link, and toast

My cousin hyped this place up so much so I was excited to try it. She brought me a plate that had ribs, chicken, a hot link, greens, and garlic toast. The garlic toast was inedible because it was extremely soggy from being packaged with the rest of the food. The greens lacked flavor in my opinion. The chicken was decent and the hot link was overcooked. The ribs were great. The bbq sauce itself, not so much. It was missing something. So if I ever come across this place myself, I'd probably only get the ribs and maybe try the Mac and cheese since it always looks good on IG. I have no opinion about service or ambiance since I didn't experience it.

    3 bone plate delicious

Best BBQ I have ever eaten! So tender and very delicious! No wonder they sell out because everyone wants it. Everything on their menu is delicious and reasonably price. Excellent service and customer service! All sides are equally delicious . Off the hook BBQ.

Limited menu. Everything X'd off. Despite advertising on all their socials and even posting full menu on their website

So, on their FB and IG they advertised that they'd be available at the Hilton hotel on 16th at and Northern this past Monday. Even on their website, they posted the menu for that day. A BUNCH of disappointed people arrive only to discover that they were hired for a private event. So what the hell? Now, they did offer to serve non event goers but to their very limited menu. No ribs, no mac, no collard greens, just a bare bones menu. Whatever, ordered something just so that I dont go home empty and hangry. Opted for their 2 meat plate (pulled pork, hot link, waffle fries as the side, and a slice of TX toast). Good? Sure. Worth all this hype all these damn AZ food influencers be giving them? I don't think so. Hesitant to even hunt them down again even if their ribs are available. Just overall, an underwhelming and annoying experience. Why publicly advertise your location somewhere and post a false menu? Oh FFS.

I'm feeling a little mixed on this review. It's a little expense 18-28 per person, but it's 2 days' worth of food. The food is good but pretty standard for a BBQ. Service was ok, but not excellent. Here is my issue, yes choose to stand in a long line, but when I ordered I was told 10-12 min; it was over 22. If I could have gotten my money back I would have left. They take phone orders and app orders and they go in before waiting in line orders. Idk exactly what their system is but when you have 30 min don't go.

I did get the spicy viva burger to try as well, and didn't like it as much. It lacked depth of flavor and kinda just tasted spicy. Still a solid burger of course, but I would go back to the classic ones next time. During lent, they had their fish sandwich, which was INSANE. The best one we have ever had. The fish was crispy on the outside, flakey and buttery on the inside. The tartar sauce was perfectly tart and balanced the whole thing. I AM PRAYINGG it comes back for times other than lent. Ruined every other fish sandwich for me. We tried their fries both times we went, and honestly not a fan. They're beef tallow fries so they're supposedly "better" but they were pretty hard and oily, and have the meat taste from the beef tallow that I don't like, I would skip these. People start lining up before the truck opens so I suggest getting there 20 minutes early for quick service, otherwise you'll be looking at an hourish wait. But trust me, it's worth it

My friends and I arrived about 20 minutes before the truck opened, and there were already a few people standing in line. The line moved pretty quickly, and the total time from ordering and receiving our food was only about 15 minutes. At this time, the line wrapped around the truck. The food came out hot and fresh. Filet-o-fish is one of my favorites of all time, and the filet de fish did not disappoint at all! The first bite had us levitating and seeing stars. The tartare sauce that the fried fish was smothered in was delicious and creamy, and the fish fillet itself was tender and flaky. The toasted and soft Japanese bun was the cherry on top. Simple and comforting and nostalgic, but elevated in the best way. We also tried their popular Viva Mexico, but we felt like it lacked in flavor and only tasted spicy, if that makes sense. Beef tallow fries were okay and not anything special. Great portions, however, it was still pretty expensive for a food truck burger. I'm glad I got to try this place out and will be back if the filet de fish hits the menu again, and would try their Signature next time.

Yet - in Arizona - there it is. With all the jibber-jabber about SoCal vs. Norcal vs. Texas vs. Chicago Mexican food, the true champion is on the sands of the Sonoran Desert. So what about the machaca? The chilaquiles are fine. Would be even better if served hot instead of lukewarm. The puree of pinto beans are piquantly larded. As for the tamal, the masa tasted oddly sweet. But the machaca starred. First they dry the beef. Then they smoked it. Finally they shred it. These pencil shavings of carne de res are then reconstituted in a sofrito. The flavor gives evidence of the smoke; gives evidence of the drying process; you discover also a slight tang from the aging process - similar to any dry-aged beef - but also bottarga or shrimp paste. In a jar on the table are the native chiltepin dried chillies. Each table has its own ornamental chili grinder. They sell cafe de la oya and champurado that are nice, notwithstanding the violent sun of Pheonix, AZ. * I kid. There's nothing wrong with preparing, serving, or eating food under a tent.
