Yuck. We ordered the fish and chips with a side of fried pickles. The fries were rubbery, the slaw was soupy and very sweet, and the pickles were greasy. The fish wasn't battered so much as wrapped in a thick, leathery fried dough; we both peeled it off and ate just the fish. The meal was just overall very disappointing. We won't be back. read more

**New Ownership** Normally my stop for teriyaki but after seeing a new menu and the food, I asked and was told they are. The menu seems the same, just updated with a new look rather than paper. The issues I had was: - the fried rice was pale and lacked seasoning/ flavor. The vegetables seemed to be poor quality of frozen package. - portion sizes have shrunk and you can see from the white rice scoops and the fried rice used to be a mound and now it is pretty flat. - adding spicy will now cost you. - time it took to get the food. They did not bring out the food at once, party of 4 all got their food separately and a bit of a wait between. Let's hope they are finding their groove as well as figuring out their flavors & portions, but no longer my site but will come back in a pinch. read more

Went there last night when we sat down table was cleared but dirty. They were not busy we waited for server for several minutes had her clean table she brought us water then took our order two orders of teriyaki chicken with fried rice and one piece of fish, one order of teriyaki chicken and frie. I told server that the last two times we were there our food was lukewarm we paid extra for fried rice it was just white rice with frozen vegetables and a little soy sauce. We have been going there for quite a while the service and food quality is not like it was with previous owners. If I could give zero stars I would have. Tried 3 times won't be back. read more

Underneath those 6 pieces of shrimp were mostly batter and pineapples and a whole lot of oil. For the price of $25 it just was not worth it. I left! Went in the next day at the same time and the place was a ghost town! No customers seated and only one guy waiting for his order. I was passing through Port Orchard and someone recommended this place to me so I gave it a try. I have ordered salmon teriyaki two times from here and both times it has been excellent. All my food was made to order and it came out piping hot and tasty. The store clerk was very nice and courteous both times and all of the other guests that were dining in seem to be regulars. On the way out one of the guests said thank you so much for the delicious meal. If you're in the mood for fish and chips or teriyaki I definitely recommend this place. read more

This place recently changed owners! We loved the old owners and their food. The new owners are nice, but the service was a little slower and the food was not as good. Teriyaki burger had a lot of cut up pineapple. Fries are seasoned and fried well! The fish and chips was not the batter style I prefer. It was a thicker batter if you enjoy that. It's an older restaurant so don't expect everything to be modern and shiny. Prices are very good and reasonable still. I would go back! read more

We had order 3 plates of fish and chips to go. We spent a good amount on the food and drinks the boba was good. but the fish and chips made all of us sick. We couldn't eat the rest of the food and traveled far to the restaurant that day. The fish was big proportions but i'm not sure if it wasn't cooked long enough or what it may be. But my whole family got stomach aches, my daughter ended up throwing up and some had diarrhea. not to be gross but it was bad for everyone that night. The service wasn't terrible, though we had to wait a little and weren't greeted right away eventually we did. i personally wouldn't go back after that experience it's a shame because we really wanted to love it as the food smelled great. but the end result spoke for it all. Review after first visit. Will update after I've been a couple more times. It almost won a full five stars but the vegetable tempura was mostly a pile of mush and gum. However, the fish-n-chips merit a full five stars, best I've had around here, though when we ordered there was a Catfish option, which immediately made it better than the usual flavorless cod. It came with unwanted slaw, very sweet, tastes like KFC slaw. Onion rings were really good, very crispy on the outside, a wet ribbony string on the inside but it was mostly batter and loved the batter. In a decent city this would akk be like the great food for in a tavern or a summer beach shed or street fair. But for South Kitsap it's what passes for decent restaurant food, and if they often make catfish-in-chips they're doing that better than elsewhere around here, though sadly it's not on their daily menu. read more

We decided we wanted to try Teriyaki last night from this place and what a wonderful surprise it was. The chicken was so tender, and they give you a generous amount of sauce and extra. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Such a great treat for all of us for dinner. We had takeout from King's last night. Both of us had fish and chips, it was horribly greasy. Just awful. We didn't finish it (portions are large) but I will Be throwing away the leftovers. My husband and I felt so ill after eating. The amount of fat was just over the top. The batter is thick and the fish was over cooked. Recently discovered this hidden gem and it's hard not to eat here weekly. The fish and chips are OUT OF THIS WORLD, always FRESH and HOT! Love their sweet potato fries and catfish. We haven't been here in a couple years due to covid and it was still very delicious! The teriyaki chicken, fish and chips, and burgers are all very good! The rice is my favorite part because the texture is so nice. I will say you can really tell they're short staffed. I was very impressed with the waitress she was taking orders, checking out to go orders, and answering phones. When we were in there it was super busy too. We didn't mind the wait for ordering, but keep that in mind if you go. We will hopefully be coming more often now. read more

Amazing fish and chips like you wouldn't believe! Wouldn't expect it from a Chinese restaurant, I guess I would call it. I did not care for the Chinese food at all though and neither did my fiancé. I love Kings Fish and Chips but last night the service was terrible. The two stars are solely for their delicious food. However, we arrived on the hour and about 10 maybe 15 minutes go past and we aren't acknowledged at all by our waiter. I watch him go to other tables and ask if they want refills. I finally tell my husband to stand up and grab menus at the counter. 5 minutes go by and I tell him if we aren't acknowledged in 10 minutes we should leave. To which he agrees because even though there is one waiter we can atleast expect a greeting or I'll be with you in one minute (esp if he's going around asking for refills)! Finally he comes and asks for our drink order and before he can leave to get those I tell him we are also ready to order our food. Okay- we ordered at 20 minutes past the hour. We didn't get our first order until :05 past the next hour. With zero communication from our waiter. Our child was beyond impatient and hungry. My husband waited until we got our food because it's rude to eat in front of your family in our household; my food took another 15 min and our child's came 5 min after mines. By then my husbands burger was cold. I of course had to keep respectful towards the waiter but I was beyond frustrated with the lack of communication from the start. Our food took a total of an hour ( for all of us to receive ) we spent nearly two hours there! The food was yummy as always but the service was so terrible I won't be dining in again. Delicious! Awesome service, delicious food. We came in about 30 min before they would close and they still let us dine-in. We were the only ones there and I was very surprised! This restaurant deserves a lot more attention. We got the Kings Trio and some Calamari and it was really good! The sweet and sour sauce was delicious, especially with the egg rolls and the shrimp. Calamari was delicious with the tartar sauce but, I didn't try it with the ketchup. Would definitely recommend! read more

Coming up to the PNW from Phoenix, we were determined to get as much fresh fish as possible and we are so glad that King's was nearby. We got takeout last night and loved it so much, we decided to come back for lunch. A few days ago we had eaten at the highly acclaimed Tides Tavern restaurant in Gig Harbor but King's put Tides' fish and chips to shame. If you want light and crispy battered FRESH fish, THIS is the place to go. The Shrimp Basket here means huge delicious prawns and tasty battered fries! We also had their teriyaki combo and it was a flavorful and generous serving. The prices are good and the owners/workers are very sweet. We ate here once before and got beef and chicken teriyaki and it was pretty good. Good enough for us to try them again. This time my wife got the beef teriyaki again and I decided to get honey walnut shrimp and chicken Katsu. The Honey Walnut shrimp was terrible! Upon the way it looked when I opened it I was skeptical it would taste good, it did not. Shrimp was very soggy and fishy tasting. If I had to guess I'd say this was microwaved from the fridge, you be the judge, look at the photo. My wife's beef teriyaki was very soupy this time which means they are inconsistent with their cooking methods because the sauce was much thinner this time and effects the outcome of the whole dish. See photo, my wife only ate half of it and will probably Throw the rest out. The Katsu was overcooked and dry, also some of the chicken was very gristly.
