This is a cozy & very convenient hole in the wall pizza place. It's right by one of the subway exits of Kings Highway B,Q station making it easy to pick up a slice for your ride or in my case a whole pie for my family as a surprise treat. They also have about 4-5 tables that can all sit ~1 to 3 people for those who would like to enjoy your slices on the spot & extra fresh. I ordered a delicious medium pepperoni pizza pie for $17, which gives you 7-8 slices. They make it fresh, so wait was about a reasonable 10 minutes. I would recommend ordering online if you don't have time. However, if you are just having one or two slices, ordering in person is the most efficient way. This neighborhood had truly amazing pizza. Back in the 80's we had Armando's under the subway station and Belladonna on E19th and Kings Highway. Alas Belladonna folded and Armandos lost their lease. We also had Vesuvias, a truly awful pizza, and ironically, we still have Vesuvias. And, ironically, it's the same terrible pizza, 35 years later. There's a glut of kosher pizza stores, but most of them are Jacob-come-latelys and, to put it bluntly, awful pizza. Jerusalem II on Ave M was here back in 1985, and that's the best kosher pizza in the neighborhood. We also had King's Pizza. Good old King's Pizza. This is a rock solid slice. Old school Brooklyn pizza. Delicious. Rockin' crust, nice sauce, tasty cheese. Every so often you find a Brooklyn pizza that brings you back to your childhood (mine being listening to Duran Duran and chomping on a pepperoni or a sausage and pepper slice), and this is it. This is what Brooklyn pizza used to be. Plain Slice: A- Is it the best? No. But it was never meant to be the best. For that you probably need to go to places like John's of Bleeker or Totonno's. Is it the best in the neighborhood? Well.... depends. I like Di Fara's, but it's a bit of a hike from Kings Highway, and it's ridiculously expensive. But King's Pizza is solid. I consider King's Pizza and J&R Pizza to be the best NY style pizza in the neighborhood, hands down. Grandma Slice: C As a last comment, their grandma slice is not a grandma slice; it's awful. Had a pizza here with son this past Sunday at 6p and what a glorious choice. I was walking my 2 year old down E 16th St to the bus and he stops right afront King's Pizza and gently asks to go in per his obsession with pizza. While I'd normally protest and try to shuffle him along, I was both inclined to oblige and myself love pizza (perhaps he picked up on this feeling). After 8 mins of gawking at and reading him the menus and identifying the many photos on the interior, he wanted to order so we got a slice of hot tomato pizza. After the traumatically harrowingly bad pie from Pronto Pizza last month, I was eager to show him proper good pizza and for 20m, we greatly enjoyed, savored the slice. The staff is seemingly new with a Russian-speaking blonde lady afront who's very efficient and sweet and patient, no easy feat in this hectic business in a small hot area. The rate of phone calls they received during this Sunday late afternoon visit suggests business is good, I hope they're profitable so they're around to please son & I for years to come. read more

In New York, the truism "location location" applies more than most anywhere else I've lived, and that's due to a combination of intense competition and heart-stopping rent rates. As far as quality, King's is not notable among Brooklyn pizzerias, but as a tiny storefront below the subway station and next to the bus stop that gives this wretched slice of Brooklyn access to the rest of the world, it's no wonder that they've been in business forever and will probably always be around. I only started going to King's a little over a year ago, and while their pizza crust's level of crispiness and flavor can't hold a candle to my favorite Sunny and John pizza, and their tomato sauce is a bit sweeter than I prefer, it's a pretty decent pie. And you can't beat the $10 price point for a large (pick-up only). Still, not being the most impressed with the pizza here I'm branching out to their other offerings. I got the calzone a few months ago, and it's huge. That's about all that can be said for it, don't do it unless your calzone craving is overwhelming (better yet go somewhere else if that's the case). Last night I got a spinach roll, and spinach rolls are never meant to be remarkable anyway. This one wasn't, but with the addition of salt and homemade tomato sauce, it was surprisingly satisfying. One more thing I want to note about the pizza: for some reason the medium seems to taste better than the large. Maybe they do a better job of crisping the crust on medium pies because they're smaller? Hard to say. If for whatever reason you find yourself on this far-flung stretch of the Q train and have a pizza craving, Kings can tide you over for a good price. Considering there are pizza spots spread all over every Main Street it makes it hard to stand out. I found King Pizza by chance one late night and I'm so happy with their food. Buffalo pizza and the Greek salad are my favorite and along with it comes great customer service which makes the experience that much better. I only wish you guys sold rice balls :) read more

So they messed up my order, forgot the marinara sauce, sent me two plain pies when I ordered one plain and one buffalo chicken. And the garlic knots some didn't have any garlic at all, others were burned. I tried to call right before writing this review in order to work things out and the guy just went on for about three minutes straight complaining and yelling at me telling me how it was my fault. Not sure why the low reviews but I've been coming here since I was a kid and they have hands down the best pie! I used to adore their plain pizza but I've grown to love their White pizza. It's my favorite pizza. They're a small pizzeria but very quick. I wish they would showcase the specialty pizzas in their menu like the King's special pizza and the Veggie Stuffed pizza. This is my go-to place for a quick slice while at work. Lots of pizza options are always ready and their menu (outside of pizza) is also super-extensive. They have a bunch of pasta, salad, appetizer and other options. There is not much room to sit (just 3 tables that fit 2-people), but this place totally works for a quick bite or to-go order before or after hopping on the Q/B train (which is right there). read more

If you have any kind of food allergies, do NOT order from this place! My husband and I ordered lunch from here yesterday-he was craving a chicken parmesan sandwich. He is also deathly allergic to shellfish/seafood and can go into anaphylactic shock if he eats it. He took ONE bite of the sandwich and started feeling the effects of the allergy setting in. THANK GOD we live across the street from the hospital, so we were able to go there quickly. He lost consciousness on the steps of the hospital and is currently in the ICU being treated due to their negligence. I don't know if they used a pan or utensils that they didn't clean properly but that sandwich came in contact with some kind of seafood. I spoke with the restaurant as well and all I got was "Oh, well that's never happened before. Sorry your husband got sick." He didn't get sick, he damn near died because of a food allergy due to your negligence! Never ordering from this place again and if you have allergies, I suggest you stay away too. read more

Terrible service here. I probably would have given a tip. I usually never have problems with mozzarella cheese but it's definitely cheap cheese and the sauce was definitely right out of the can. ONLY CASH. Yes, this place only accepts cash which is a whee bit technologically primitive for my taste but oh well. This place offers good tasting pizza at a great price (10$ for large). They have very little seating, basically three tables huddled together in a very tight space. However, mostly everyone who orders picks up or gets to go. Their pasta slices are a personal favorite and any adventurous pizza lover should definitely try them. Some of my other favorites from this place are their mozzarella sticks, their casseroles, and their garlic knots. I've ordered from here once and had to wait quite a while (~30 minutes) for my food, but it was hot when it came, so I won't complain too much about it. Fun fact: the pizzeria uses halal meat so my Muslim brethren, do not fear their meaty treasures. UPDATE: NO LONGER CASH ONLY!!! King's Pizza is great. I've popped in and out of this "joint" for 16 years and never had a complaint. The food's good, when my kids were little they loved the pizza here and we'd carry it to nearby Kelly Park where they'd jump everywhere for hours after eating (getting ice cream from the truck that was usually there all summer). Don't listen to Val L. I'm dubious about the story not because this couldn't have happened, but the circumstances are very odd. Her husband is extremely allergic to shellfish but goes to eat at a very small establishment to get food that could be exposed to aerosol particles due to the smallish cooking area. On a NextDoor post she admits her SEVERELY ALLERGIC husband doesn't carry an epi pen and refused to use one when he got home after his allergy started (seconds count, right?), he crossed the street to the hospital when he could have stopped the symptoms with one shot; is this smart? NO. And we also don't know what they ate or didn't eat in and around this incident. Now she's called, according to what she's threatened, the Health Department and people are advocating she sue the pizzeria--how disgusting. I love this place, it's a part of the neighborhood, and this lady who smacks of privilege, and who made the mistake (her husband also) of picking a restaurant where they sell shellfish is blaming the restaurant for her poor decision making skills. Besides, the contamination could have come from the bread, the chicken, the sauce and a hundred other possibilities and things they didn't make in their restaurant, but used as their ingredients. What Val L. posted here is shameful. Let's get real here, accidents happen, but this place hasn't had a problem like this ever. The customer service is friendly and accommodating. It's important to note that their "large" is really a medium. The X-large is equivalent to a large at other pizzerias.
