My two slices and some garlic knots.
    Valerie L.

I stopped in to get a couple of cheese slices and some garlic knots. I was visiting from Atlanta and needed my pizza fix. Very friendly service, pizza ok, close to my son in Brooklyn so it's convenient.

Not the best slice to take a picture of since the cheese is so uneven, but this is an anomaly: the pizza normally is pretty good here.

This neighborhood had truly amazing pizza. Back in the 80's we had Armando's under the subway station and Belladonna on E19th and Kings Highway. Alas Belladonna folded and Armandos lost their lease. We also had Vesuvias, a truly awful pizza, and ironically, we still have Vesuvias. And, ironically, it's the same terrible pizza, 35 years later. There's a glut of kosher pizza stores, but most of them are Jacob-come-latelys and, to put it bluntly, awful pizza. Jerusalem II on Ave M was here back in 1985, and that's the best kosher pizza in the neighborhood. We also had King's Pizza. Good old King's Pizza. This is a rock solid slice. Old school Brooklyn pizza. Delicious. Rockin' crust, nice sauce, tasty cheese. Every so often you find a Brooklyn pizza that brings you back to your childhood (mine being listening to Duran Duran and chomping on a pepperoni or a sausage and pepper slice), and this is it. This is what Brooklyn pizza used to be. Plain Slice: A- Is it the best? No. But it was never meant to be the best. For that you probably need to go to places like John's of Bleeker or Totonno's. Is it the best in the neighborhood? Well.... depends. I like Di Fara's, but it's a bit of a hike from Kings Highway, and it's ridiculously expensive. But King's Pizza is solid. I consider King's Pizza and J&R Pizza to be the best NY style pizza in the neighborhood, hands down. Grandma Slice: C As a last comment, their grandma slice is not a grandma slice; it's awful. It's more like a toaster oven pizza. No sauce. Way too much cheese. The grandma slice was supposed to be a Brooklyn invention. How did these guys get it so wrong?

Never ever dissapoints. If you want some greasy NYC goodness at normal prices, this is the place. Always thin and nice dough, scrumptious cheese, so sooo good.

In New York, the truism "location location" applies more than most anywhere else I've lived, and that's due to a combination of intense competition and heart-stopping rent rates. As far as quality, King's is not notable among Brooklyn pizzerias, but as a tiny storefront below the subway station and next to the bus stop that gives this wretched slice of Brooklyn access to the rest of the world, it's no wonder that they've been in business forever and will probably always be around. I only started going to King's a little over a year ago, and while their pizza crust's level of crispiness and flavor can't hold a candle to my favorite Sunny and John pizza, and their tomato sauce is a bit sweeter than I prefer, it's a pretty decent pie. And you can't beat the $10 price point for a large (pick-up only). Still, not being the most impressed with the pizza here I'm branching out to their other offerings. I got the calzone a few months ago, and it's huge. That's about all that can be said for it, don't do it unless your calzone craving is overwhelming (better yet go somewhere else if that's the case). Last night I got a spinach roll, and spinach rolls are never meant to be remarkable anyway. This one wasn't, but with the addition of salt and homemade tomato sauce, it was surprisingly satisfying. One more thing I want to note about the pizza: for some reason the medium seems to taste better than the large. Maybe they do a better job of crisping the crust on medium pies because they're smaller? Hard to say. If for whatever reason you find yourself on this far-flung stretch of the Q train and have a pizza craving, Kings can tide you over for a good price. It's not the best, but if you're looking for the best of anything in this part of Brooklyn, you're better off buying bagels.

Pizza is very tasty and they are very very fast in serving, I order a pie to take away and it was ready in less than 10 minutes, but waiters need to learn English, I asked 4 time which kind of cheese was the one on top of a pizza and she kept telling me "cheese" until I asked her if maybe it was ricotta, so then she nods "yes it's ricotta"...

    Burnt garlic knots

So they messed up my order, forgot the marinara sauce, sent me two plain pies when I ordered one plain and one buffalo chicken. And the garlic knots some didn't have any garlic at all, others were burned. I tried to call right before writing this review in order to work things out and the guy just went on for about three minutes straight complaining and yelling at me telling me how it was my fault. I hung up. They don't even deserve the one star but you have to choose something. Save your money and order from somewhere else.

To the point -…read more This blackened red snapper was crispy, well seasoned, flaky, and had an overall goodness in taste, presentation, & portion size. Stir fry potatoes (first time ordering this side) - Looked as good as it tasted with a melt in your mouth unknown white cream surrounding each potatoe segment. BedStuy Fish Fry - Please explain the concept and delicious ingredients of your "stir fry potatoes". Finally, the mac & cheese goes without saying never tastes like any other mac & cheese near or far. I've always returned because the food has been consistent and good--until today. Thankfully, I keep photos of my food. The first picture shows what the whiting is supposed to look and taste like. The second picture, the whiting sandwich I received today, was completely different. It tasted like cheap, frozen fish you'd buy from Jetros--the kind that's been frozen, defrosted, and refrozen. It was soggy, dry, and lacked the fresh flavor Bed-Stuy Fish Fry is known for. I was physically in the store and ordered a whiting dinner through the Uber app to take advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free deal. Because I enjoy the whiting so much, I also ordered a whiting sandwich. Unfortunately, this was the worst whiting I've ever had. When I called the store, I was told I was the only person who complained today. That still doesn't answer the real issue: why wasn't I told the whiting had been replaced or was different from your usual fish? If the quality changes, customers deserve to know before spending their money. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. I wasted $45, and now I have to spend even more money to get dinner for my family from somewhere else. After 10 years of loyalty, this experience was unacceptable.

My meal arrived right on time, piping hot, fresh, and definitely not the "leftover of the day." I'm usually not a fan of wild salmon, but this dish completely changed my mind. The salmon was tender and flavorful, with an accompanying sauce filled with red and green peppers, tomatoes finely diced and a red sauce. Must I say it was absolutely delicious. The jasmine rice was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were blanched just right. I enjoyed my dinner. I will definitely be ordering this again and sampling other dishes on the menu. I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

I felt like I was inside someone's home and felt welcomed and comfortable. Not loud and well lit. Service (5/5): We came at an off hour during the weekend around 1:30pm there was still around 6 parties dining in. The staff provided good recommendations and good service. When asked for water without any lemon slices, they provided bottled water at no extra cost! Food: (4/5) - rated New York Times top 100 Best Restaurants in New York City in 2025 Every dish came with a small cup of sour cream / Tzatziki based sauce that went with every dish. This was a must and this was mastered very well. Kutaby with chicken and lamb (4/5) - we ordered one each but the lamb was far superior than the chicken. Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.
