Best authentic home style pizza in Honolulu, hands down! Super good pizza at a very reasonable price, made fresh while you wait, never reheated like the other guys. Dough is hand made and tastes soo Good!! (Can I say "not like the other guys" again!?). Also nice, pizza is not slimy with overdone cheese. Its just right. My faves are the Kapahulu and the Taco Pizza but I have to try a few more to know for sure. Two good sized slices for $5 - 6. Impressive. Corrina (hope I spelled that right) always greets us with a smile. The atmosphere is so unique and the food is unbelievable. Don't miss this little secret on Kapahulu. My family and I were out in town and my Prego butt wanted pizza we Google searched and by the pics of this cozy little place we decided to try it. They had a special if you buy 1 whole pizza you get a whole cheese pizza for free. The lady working who I think was the owner let us know the sign was yesterdays special but she was going to remove it but still honor it for us, that was very kind of her to do. We ordered king pizza with jalapenos on the side (we don't care for them) and she asked if we would like to replace it with mushrooms instead which we loved and I thought was really nice of her. We also got the Hawaiian sandwich with our order. Everything was very yummy I'm so glad we found that place instead of going to dominos or Papa John's which is the norm in the south. Where to even start! Will not be back for sure! Don't know why all the good reviews?? I've had frozen pizza that looked and tasted better. The turkey sandwich, well the bread was burnt, the turkey was more like bologna, got no bacon, no avocado just a crappy sandwich missing most of its ingredients! Oh and we ordered 2 and only got 1. On to the salad. It shows up in a pizza box on a piece of foil and it looked like the box was thrown around and smashed. Lettuce is wilted and zero dressing! I mean come on guys! What the hell? First time here and have to say, not bad. They give you two slices that are good size and they say it's a quarter of a whole pizza, for $5. The lady was there fixing the sign and greeted us very cheerfully as we walked up to window. She told us that there were free unlimited toppings. Wanted to take full advantage of that but felt bad ordering EVERYTHING so just got the Kings pizza and only added like two more toppings. Seating is small but it wasn't that busy so service was not that bad only waited like 10-15 min for our pizza after we ordered. Little gem of a place tucked away behind a car dealership on Kapiolani blvd. I only decided to recently try it out because my office building is across the street and one of my coworkers raves about the place. Decided to grab a quick lunch and Check it out. $5 slice pizzas which is a big piece cut in 2 and you can choose among many different combinations. You can also add $2 for small side salad with it. I thought it was pretty good and I got full with that slice so not a bad price for lunch. You can also have ice cream in a cup with a piece of brownie for $3. Pretty good deal there. Honestly, it's pretty much impossible to find this place because there's a construction site in front of it and it's at the back of a parking lot behind a million cars that are being fixed at a mechanic next door. So, it's hiding. But, the reason for the 5 star rating is the super-nice personal service from the woman who served me tonight, and the quality of the pizza. The prices are set: $20 for a full pizza with unlimited toppings (yay!), or $5 for a giant slice. That keeps things simple. I went for the King's special, which she said was the most popular. I took it to a church potluck and it was well-received, to say the least. This place is definitely worth taking the extra effort to find, next time you are in Honolulu. read more

But hello think of how much food you're getting For ONLY 5$! It's a 2 massive slice - you can even create your own toppings. The only turn off here is how many shady people tend to hang out. The first thing I saw when I peered into the delivery window was a "take'n'bake" pizza wrapped up in a plastic bag... yikes! Besides for that indelible first impression, King's Pizza is an acceptable place to get a cheap pie. $18 for a large pizza (more than enough for two extremely hungry adults... I had to force myself to finish off that last slice!) and you can request whatever amount of toppings you want at no extra charge! They also sell by the slice, and offer free delivery in the Honolulu and Waikiki area. Service was fast and friendly; however, there's only ONE table with two seats at this location, so you should be prepared to carry out your pizza and eat it somewhere else. As for the pizza itself, the crust has a "garlic butter base" and is very thin and cracker like. It's fantastic straight out of the oven (crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside), but unfortunately hardens all the way through after about 10 minutes. The mozzarella cheese was all right, but it too hardened into a candle wax consistency by the time we were halfway done with the pizza. I liked what I could taste of the "homemade" tomato sauce, but there wasn't nearly enough of it! I got chicken as a topping, but it tasted like it came out of a ready-to-make Caesar salad kit... definitely not cooked on premises. I'd return for the cheap eats and also because I try to support small local businesses, but if I'm hankering for a FABULOUS pizza I'd go elsewhere (V-Lounge or Boston's Manoa, personally). read more

first visit and i was stunned upon entrance. it was the interior decor that was both quirky & retro...that had me unable to focus...also, it's a bit cluttered. glad that i dont have clinical ADHD jk. it felt like being in a classic pizza parlor or diner. the owner had to be quite the character but she was busy talking w/ a customer(?) so i waited and snapped some pics. requested the "Kapahulu" - a veggie pizza - 'cause i am in the neighborhood & the sign on the right wall of the establishment. also, got a " frappe vicious" -'which was ok, like on a Starbucks level...but it had caffeine. This was my second time I went to King's Pizza. The first time, I went on a Sunday (around 1:30) and they were closed. The sign posted said "Sunday: 4-8 p.m." Two Sundays later I called to see if they were open for lunch and yes they opened at noon. The sign on the door still says "Sunday: 4-8 p.m." I just seems like they don't do the little things well. Moving on to the place, the Yelpers were spot on about the unique atmosphere with the 70s records, tapes and funky furniture. Colorful yes but not too comfortable for dining in. The prices for the slice of pizza were very reasonable ranging from $6.25 to $7 for a 1/4 pizza cut into 2 slices. We decided instead of ordering an entire pizza (around $24), that we went for 3 slices. We decided on the Kapahulu (artichoke hearts, mushroom), Hawaiian and Margarita pizza. Good thin crust and very hot coming out of the oven. My spouse thought the cheese was lower quality. I thought the cheese was fine but little things could make these pizzas better. More basil on the magarita, Not enough mushrooms on the Kapahulu. Again small things but then again, it's they do add up in the long run. read more
