7" Kanaka pizza. I ate it all...and very filling.
    Matt O.

This time around, I decided to make a trip back to Big Kahuna's Pizza, and that time, I ordered a pizza. I ordered the Kanaka and it wasn't too bad. It was a bit on the small side, but was filling. I even got some dessert to take home with a Triple D brownie. Overall, Big Kahuna totally redeemed themselves and made my experience here worth it. Thanks so much...as I'm hoping to come back here again sometime with a friend in hopes we'll eat here again.

Update on Big Kahuna's Pizza the other day I ordered take out . I ordered garlic spinach minus tomatoes, cheese pizza and Meat lovers . Side order of their delicious garlic cheese balls . I've noticed you need to eat their garlic cheese balls right away by the time I got home the cheese was already hard . Support local

We've eaten at lot of different pizza places and this one is exceptional. We could taste the fresh ingredients, it was super hot, got the 12" sumo and it was enough for three of us. The two employees were very friendly. Just enough tables and chill vibes, and they validated parking.

    Sumo pizza - yum!

1-25-26 Last night, phone ordered dinner from the airport as our flight from Lihue back to Honolulu was delayed. 20 minutes quoted for a Sumo pizza. I was told only 7 inch since ran out of the 12 inch size. Sure, that's fine. I'd like to order dessert please. The female voice told me what was available and once I heard we have a new one, coconut mochi. I was sold. The 7 inch size was loaded with all the wonderful ingredients of a Sumo pizza, good for one person/ like a personal pan pizza size. Tried the coconut mochi this morning. Probably the first time I didn't immediately devour a dessert. The slice comes in a clear plastic container. I cut it in half to share and marveled at the nice crust edge. The flavor was indeed like a homemade butter mochi made with love. So if you are near the airport, across from Dunkin' Donuts, enter the armed gate. You might enjoy their various pizzas but if you LOVE butter mochi, try it here - very good!

Looking for something different from the usual big chains like Pizza Hut or Papa John's? Big Kahuna Pizza by the airport is worth a try. They've been serving up their pies for years, and they've got some fun specialty options you won't find anywhere else. Just a heads-up: their pizzas run a bit smaller than the typical "large" from the other guys, but the flavor makes up for it. You might want to grab a few of their famous garlic cheese balls. They come in a 6 or 12 pack, and honestly, the 12 is the way to go since most people end up eating more than one. Guilty as charged!

I can just taste the Paisano pizza toppings as I look at the photos. There is absolutely NOTHING bad about Big Kahuna's! Fresh ingredients assembled by the finest pizza makers in the state, reflects in the flavor of the finished product. A friend orders the sandwiches and said they are also very good. Two sizes depending on your appetite. Usually really busy at lunch sometimes not making any more pizzas bc they sold out, but still do sandwiches and famous cheeseballs. These delectable buttery, cheesy balls are soft and fluffy. Once paired w marinara sauce, it's game over. No sharing! Get your own!! Lots of stalls in the gated parking lot. Take a ticket and get it validated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is not very spacious inside, however, there are several places to sit and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you, Grubhub for offering delivery!

I used to love this place so much but I haven't been in years. Was in the area so I was so excited to eat it again. Honestly, it was just ok. Not bad but wasn't as good as I remembered it being. I was most excited for the garlic cheese balls. They didn't have as much flavor as they did before. I feel like it used to be almost too garlicky but now it's kinda bland. Pizza also is kinda bland even though they put a lot of sauce. Not a lot of toppings (see picture) pork was a little light. I would come back to try something else like a sandwich but I would not get the same pizza or the garlic cheese balls again. Service was fine, not very friendly but quick considering they make the food fresh, around 20 min.

Big Kahuna's Pizza located on Paiea St near the airport. Love their Pizzas . The crust makes it cravable. Oh and the Garlic Cheese Balls are to die for . Wonderful baked pillows of dough topped with lots of garlic and ooey gooey cheesy goodness. We had the Barbecue Chicken and Pepperoni 6" pizzas as well. Everything was amazingly delicious . Service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice casual dining room decorated with nostalgic memories.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Haven't been here in a very long time. Lucky for me, my kids picked me up from the airport and came straight here for dinner. First time I had to eat were their garlic cheese balls. Delicious just as I remembered. The kids ordered two kinds of pizza: the chorizo one and a sweet chicken one. Both tasted good because you can't beat homemade pizzas but I'm more of a spicy girl so the chorizo one was the winnah! Best welcome home dinner yet!

Sumo pizza is the thing to get! I took off the pepperoni and olives so I could taste the pork underneath it and it was delicious!

    12" Sumo Special

With so much good local cuisine who comes to HI to eat Pizza? Apparently we do. With the number of reviews and ratings we couldn't resist. It's small, 6 tables with a long wait time. About 25 mins for our 12" Sumo Special. We were told up front there was a wait. In reality it only took 15 mins for our hot, messy & gooey pizza to arrive. No complaints, it was ridiculously delicious. The thin crust was completely covered with ingredients( too many to list) The only reason we saw cheese is because it was on top. I was a little skeptical about the $26 price tag on a 12" pie. That ended at the 1st bite. I've been eating pizza for more years and in multiple countries than I'd like to admit to. This was, by far, the best pizza I've ever eaten. I don't rave about much, these guys earned it. If you're reading this review you're looking for great pizza. Look no further, this is it. They also support our armed forces. If you're military or veteran bring proof for a small discount.

The worst pizza place. They don't honor their promotion.

After looking over the menu options, we stood waiting for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us or took our order. The manager seemed rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for the visit. Looking back we should have trusted our first impression, but we decided to give it a chance and see what the hype was about. We each ordered a slice of pizza and took it outside to eat. After eating , we walked past the glass wall of the cafe and I noticed the manager handling and mixing flour with his bare hands, with the flour mixture covering his hands and forearms. I didn't expect to see food prep without disposable gloves and it made me uncomfortable. The pizza itself didn't make up for the experience. At around $22 per slice, I was expecting something exceptional or life-changing, instead, it was pretty underwhelming. The flavor, texture, and overall quality just didn't justify the premium price. Between the unfriendly service, concerns about food handling, and the disappointing pizza, I don't feel the experience was worth the cost of overpriced slices of pizza and I will not be returning nor will I recommend Little G Cafe to others. There are plenty of other pizza spots in Honolulu, including Boston's Pizza, that offer better value and a much more welcoming atmosphere.

Overall this is the second best NY style pizza place after black shamrock by a small margin - the Jersey pie at shamrock with its awesome sauce and perfect crust is hard to beat but don't think you can order it by the slice. Lately I've been dining on soups like pho and ramen, lamb curry stews, and snacking on real fruit smoothies, and I felt like I needed a change of pace. However, I didn't realize I had this burning desire until I saw the foodie pics here on Yelp. It was then that I seriously wondered how I could inject a little more variety into my foodie repertoire. I saw this restaurant listed on Yelp and immediately thought, Ooh, what about Italian??? :D Myself replied: Mmm, that sounds tantalizing, Jules Y.! :D After perusing the menu to make sure I wasn't gonna miss out on a thing, it only took a few seconds for me to hone in on the two items I ultimately ordered: * 16" Florentine pizza (gigante) * Gnocchi Gorgonzola with added mushrooms I added mushrooms to the gnocchi dish, which was a fantastic decision I would not want to go without on future dines of this dish. The pizza was a thin crust topped with luscious mozzarella, rough-chopped garlic, spinach, and ricotta cheese. The gnocchi contained chicken chunks, potato gnocchi, luscious cream sauce, and the mushrooms I added. The Florentine immediately caught my eye. I'm particular about not eating sausage, pepperoni, and other typical pizza meats, so this cheese-and-spinach combination was exactly what I was looking for. I expected something around a medium-sized pizza, but what arrived was this unexpectedly large pie sitting inside a huge, flat pizza box. It seemed enormous! The crust was thin with a nicely fire-charred edge, while the center was packed with luscious cheesy goodness. Random dollops of ricotta, spinach leaves, and these entirely unexpected little chunks of fresh, soft, juicy garlic created little flavor explosions throughout every bite. It made eating the pizza fun because each slice was a little different. Although I thought I was hungry enough to eat a lion, I naturally stopped after only a couple of slices. That turned out to be a bonus because I had delicious leftovers for lunches and dinners over the next couple of days. The Gnocchi Gorgonzola was a different experience altogether. Tender potato gnocchi were coated in a thick, luscious cream sauce with chunks of chicken scattered throughout. The mushrooms I added were thinly sliced and blended in perfectly with the gnocchi, chicken, and creamy sauce. My only criticism is that the dish was saltier than I would have preferred. I think using about half as much salt would have allowed the flavors of the gnocchi and sauce to shine through even more. Aside from that, every bite was pleasantly chewy, rich, creamy, and satisfying. The sauce was everywhere--and that is definitely a good thing. Yum! These two dishes complemented each other perfectly because they offered completely different flavors and textures. The rich, cheesy Florentine pizza paired wonderfully with the creamy Gnocchi Gorgonzola. If I eat here again, I'll probably order these exact same dishes. If you enjoy Italian food as much as I do, I suspect you'll enjoy Aroma Italia's menu.

LOVED THE CANNIBALE PIZZA !!!…read more I also ordered the linguine with pink sauce and added meatballs and sausage. It was excellent. I think I would probably order it again but with the marinara sauce. The garlic bread with mozzarella cheese was good but I would order the regular garlic bread since it's less rich and would pair better with the entree. I think the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese would be great as an appetizer though. The ingredients on both the pasta and pizza were very generous. If I were to take friends out for Italian food I would bring them here.

We ordered the Repetti pizza and fettuccine with diavolo sauce and meatballs. We also had the Caesar salad and focaccia bread with marinara sauce. Our server was Grace. Grace was so friendly and knowledgeable and professional. In addition to the food, Grace made the dining experience exceptional. We sat outside and even though it was a very hot day, the temperature was very comfortable under the roofed area. The Pinot Grigio was excellent! Our meal was brought out in a timely manner and Grace was an attentive server. The Caesar dressing is perfection! The diavolo sauce was delicious and just-right spicy. We loved the meatballs and the fettuccine was cooked perfectly. The pizza!!!!! Wow. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and the toppings were a delicious combination of flavors. The focaccia with marinara could have been a meal for me. The bread was hot and crispy while also being soft and savory. I couldn't get enough of the marinara. We had a lot of leftovers and ate some for dinner and still have more for tomorrow. Repetti's will be a new place for us to dine and bring friends as often as possible. We were so impressed and could not have wanted any of the experience to be different. Fantastic in every way!

Wait times were minimal between ordering, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Although I ate leisurely, I was there for about 90 minutes. The atmosphere is so enjoyable, especially if you get outdoor seating. Cool, quiet, intimate. . Salads with every entree as well as bread? Makes the prices worthwhile. Every pasta dish was delicious: baked ziti, fettucine, pesto sauce. 10/10. Pizza and calzones if you have someone in your party who doesn't want traditional.
