I came to King's Street Coffee with one goal in mind - to score some mini prints from the vending machine that Caitshouse had put in the cafe. They have plenty of quarters at the register, as long as you had cash to exchange. I opted to do 5 pulls, since I had a $5 bill with me. I also had a iced matcha with water instead of milk, which was fantastic. I think this might be my go-to order now, as I don't really love how diluted matchas get with milk. A friend and I chilled in the cafe catching up for about an hour before our dinner reservation. The space is really open and airy and there is plenty of seating. We saw several tables with people just working quietly. read more

I can't believe I never try this place. Almost every day I walked past by and still never give them a try . O my respect I ended up here was for my friend who wanted to catch up before I go to work. This is a cute little spot , liked the decor a lot. Feel cozy & inviting. Loved the trees surrounding everything! I am so glad I did. Altho prices are kinda high , don't regret to spend it here then somewhere else where I don't spend a dime anymore! I tried their iced coffee, walnut cake & something else which I could not remember the name lol . I loved everything, can't wait to come back . Customer service is great . Found King Street Coffee just a short walk from my hotel. Picked up a mocha ($6.25), and then added the Purple Sweet Potato Scone ($5.50) which is something I had never seen elsewhere. The mocha was solid. The scone was amazing! Perfect texture which the right "crunch" when you bite into it. I was very sad when it was gone. I should have picked up 2 of them. Went back another morning for more Purple Sweet Potato Scones. Unfortunately they were sold out of it (or maybe they weren't ready at the time we stopped by). We saw some green scones on display that turned out to be Matcha Scones so we picked those up to give them a try. These were also delicious. Despite this, I still preferred the Purple Sweet Potato Scones. On the morning were flying out of NYC, we stopped by again to try our luck with the Purple Sweet Potato Scones. They didn't have them ready and we had to leave to catch our flight so couldn't wait. We picked up a tote bag as a souvenir. There's a bit of seating inside but they fill up. This is apparently a popular spot with the locals. The ambiance is very relaxed, with plants all around to help give it a bit of coziness. You can see the plant on the inside of the glass window facing the street. It provides a bit of "privacy" from passersby, so you don't. feel like you're in a fishbowl. LOL I do not know why the shop is called "King's Street", because it is located on W. 30st Street, and it's the one and only shop they have to my knowledge. I love the small locally owned coffee shop vibe here, and I felt good about coming here to support them over a big chain coffee shop. The people working here are nice, too! I can't wait to come visit again, next time I'm in NYC. read more

We decided to check it out since it was right by our hotel. Absolutely adored the decor with the fresh plants and large windows. Cold brew was pretty good and service was okay. A bit on the pricey side for take out but worth it if you are able to sit down and enjoy. read more

Vibrant spot to meet up for a quick catch up sesh with the cousin. I got a chai while she sipped a cold brew. Not good for working, as there is no WiFi. I got the vibe that they didn't want people sticking around. But I won't hate on that. They want people to come in and out being so close to Penn. Great selection and great vibe. Would definitely use as a meetup spot again. read more

I got the matcha latte with oat milk. The matcha was OKAY. It was pretty diluted and I prefer my matcha to be stronger. I don't think I would come back for the matcha; however, they also serve coffee or teas, which might be better. They have a lot of tables but this place tends to be really full every time I pass by. I came in the middle of the day and saw a long line just to order! Regardless, staff members are nice and they seem to be pretty efficient. I didn't have to wait that long for my drink once I ordered. read more

This place is really popular. So if you want a table, you might have to be patient. I love that they have unsweetened almond milk. It's not cheap though ;) the cardamom buns are good (though I'd like a bit more spice). This is a go-to place for me when in Chelsea. read more

Coffee is honestly really great! Popped in today for a few coffees and I had a bite, that I purchased from the restaurant as well. My daughter pulled out a bagel we had purchased from a nearby shop and we commenced to enjoying a little time together. Because we had one outside bagel they came over and asked us to leave. What a disappointment. I get the policy of no outside food and drink but seriously, I could post up in there for a couple of hours with my computer and work but I got turned away for one little bagel. I stopped by King's Street Coffee this past Saturday morning for coffee stop #1. I regret not trying any of their pastries, since so many reviews rave about their Asian-inspired baked goods! There was a line when I walked in, but it moved fairly quickly. Drinks also came out pretty fast as well, and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. CAPPUCCINO (8 OZ) - 4.59 The heart shaped latte art was cute and the coffee was quite smooth and balanced. It was a well-made cappuccino, but I thought the espresso flavor was nothing extraordinary. I think it would have been better if I got a pastry to pair with it. King's Street Coffee doesn't roast their own beans, but they source them from Heart Coffee Roasters (Portland, OR) and Sweetleaf Coffee Roasters (local NYC roaster). One perk is that they also sell these beans, which is something to keep in mind for future visits. Afternoon stroll around Penn Station (by our hotel), we veered off course and came upon King's Street Coffee. Never shy away, from afternoon coffee, we walked in to support the small café. The location and NYC still amaze me - the neighborhood, including its shops wedges and blends into MAJOR streets in busy city. The plants and greenery around the main window caught my attention, giving me a reason to sit and watch people for a while. There is a long communal table in the center surrounded by 5 - 7 smaller round table meant for two. Next to the counter, there is a small corner that carries merchandises and sourced batches of coffee. The male barista is super friendly and chatty. We ordered a matcha latte and vanilla latte. It's decent nothing standouts but worth a stop by to support the local shops. read more

Very cute place and they seem to have great coffee. My review is for the iced matcha- don't order one from here. They don't seem to use the best quality matcha and for the steep price of almost $8 for a 12oz, there are much better options in the city. I ordered a small matcha with regular milk and a little vanilla. It was very watered down, grainy and zero vanilla flavor. Very disappointed since this is the second time I tried but I won't be going here for matcha again. read more

This spot was all abuzz on a Friday afternoon. You could tell there were both social and work conversations happening. I love the use of plants. The cashier was particularly joyful, which immediately put me in a good mood. I got a perfect flat white and a nice cardamom bun for later. I ordered a 12oz coffee with whole milk and thought it was just average. The coffee wasn't particularly strong but it was ready within a few minutes. I'll try their latte next time as that seemed to be the popular option. They have indoor seating but it may be hard to get a table. There were groups of two to three people. Some were working or studying while others were just catching up. Grabbing a table may be a hit or miss depending on the time of day. read more

Cute cafe and vibes! Love that they have a lot of plants around the shop. They have wifi and outlets, which was nice since I was sitting there to do some work. There's not a lot of space/seating once you get inside though. It felt a little tight when sitting at the tables. Very limited number of tables available so you have to scout for a table. I got the iced matcha latte w/ oat. It tasted pretty standard. It was good, but nothing crazy/unique about it. I did think it was overpriced for the portions given though. I got a 12oz (which is the smallest size available for this drink) and subbed for oat milk, my total came out to $7. It was a small amount for the price and didn't taste that special. I don't think it was worth the $7. Probably won't come back to get this drink. read more

The flat white I had was great, as was my avocado toast. Normally, I find avocado toast to be underwhelming, but I was full after eating this and was very pleased!! I came here recently on a weekday morning to grab a coffee. I had intentions of sitting in the cafe and working for a bit, but it was absolutely packed to the brim; no seats open, no seats looked like they were opening anytime soon, so heads up to come early (or maybe late?) if you do want to work here. The inside is pretty though, quite airy and well lit. I got a cortado, and it was overall solid, but a bit sloppy. Too much milk so it started tasting a bit more like a cappuccino. On the fruitier side, so definitely got some sour notes. Can definitely get a decent cup of coffee here. Seems like a very popular work spot, so might be hard to grab a seat. read more

Don't get me wrong, the vibe was great but this is not the spot to do work for more than 30 minutes. The chairs are hard and super uncomfortable. Super loud and the door was open so it's also super hot as well but the saddest thing at the end of the day was their coffee. My barista was so nice and loved the service but their iced latte with rose syrup tasted like 99.9% milk. read more

Starting the day after a red-eye from Seattle, may contribute to the coffee happiness I am experiencing. The King's Street coffee shop is spacious, quite packed and very vibrant on an early Feiday morning. The coffee is excellent, we ordered a couple of different coffees and they were were made quickly and precisely. I like coming to King Street just because it is a working café, which is a little bit more unique in this part of town. The last time I came, I ordered a Matcha latte, it wasn't the worst one I had ever per se, but it was definitely water down and for the price was it necessarily worth it. The next time I come, I would probably just grab a latte, but when it comes to the general quality of the coffee here, it's just not great. There's not a ton of seating, so you kind of have to scout as you come in, but people come in people go all the time, so if you're a little bit more on the patient side, you might be able to grab a seat and do a little bit of working while you're at the café. read more

Even though I wasn't going to try all three, I like having options to choose from. I was debating between Hinata and Hajime, so I asked the staff which one has a strong flavor and she recommended Hinata. I went with that. It's meant to have a nutty creamy taste. I'm satisfied that I can taste the nutty creaminess. Though I wish it can be bolder and have more umami. Perhaps it has to do with concentration. At the same time, $6.50 is a good price given the location, alternative matcha and drink options nearby, flavor. I also asked how much matcha they use in the medium vs large sizes. Medium is 4g for a 12oz cup. Large is 5g for a 16oz cup. Even though large is a better deal by volume, I got medium because it has a higher concentration of matcha. Since I got a hot latte, my cup came with the lid on it already. I didn't look at it immediately, so no photo available lol. I looked later on and the color looks bright green. The seating is weird where they only have a table with two seats against the window. Then there's a random one chair next to the cashier and another one next to the pickup area. The stools are slightly taller than the counters which made me feel like I was towering over the counter. I don't recommend betting on spending time to hang out there. Just buy it to go.

I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
