This is hands down one of my favorite Japanese restaurants! If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, you won't be disappointed. The hibachi is absolutely delicious, and the vegetables are my favorite--they're juicy, crunchy, buttery, and packed with flavor. Every bite is amazing! The soy chicken wings are an absolute must-try! They're perfectly seasoned, incredibly flavorful, and one of the best appetizers on the menu. The service is always exceptional. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food comes out fast, and it's always fresh and piping hot. The restaurant is cozy, spotless, and has the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. I live in Orange Park, and I gladly make the drive every time I'm craving ramen or hibachi because it's that good. It's worth every mile! The food here is great. The special to get a Raman and an appetizer is great. Their selection is a little limited, and they can take things out of the ramans but not substitute items, which feels like a money grab. It was really poor, and the timing of the dishes was completely all over the place. Our server never came back to ask if we needed refills. He took my order and my daughter's order, but my husband was still deciding because what he originally wanted was unavailable. The server said he would come back in a minute, but never did. We actually started receiving our food before he returned to ask if my husband was still planning to order. This made the experience frustrating, especially when dining with more than one person. The bad service and disorganized timing of bringing out the food took away from what could have been an excellent experience. I had their Gainesville location and was impressed. Decided to skip out on my favorite ramen spot and give Kinya in Jax a try. We ordered the Kinya Ramen... The thickness of the pork broth with the black garlic oil accompanied by the marinated egg, the seared pork, bamboo and green onions was amazing! We also had their pork buns which have cucumbers in it, so different but delicious, makes the buns feel more light and fresh. Found the perfect ramen shop in Jacksonville for date night! Visited for the first time on a Sunday afternoon around 5 PM, and there was no wait for a table. Our server was friendly, helpful, and super patient while we looked over the menu. He answered any questions we had and recommended a great sake. Overall, the food was fantastic. We had a couple of appetizers (takoyaki and gyoza), and two bowls of the spicy ramen with chicken. It was SO good! It had the little fish cakes in it too. The portions were very generous, and we were both stuffed. Super satisfied with my first time here. For being understaffed, this place already has their service down to a science! Place was PACKED for their grand opening, but our server Bui knocked it put of the park! He was incredibly attentive, patient, and had a wonderfully relaxed vibe despite the sea of crowded tables. As a spicehound, I had to add extra chili oil to my already spicy TanTan, but it was excellent! Portions were generous and definitely worth the price. My partner's Spicy Chicken ramen was delicious! A savory flavorful taste reminiscent of that perfect chicken soup when you're sick. We split an order of the Pork Belly Yakitori and WOAH! I haven't a clue how they loaded that much flavor into 4 pieces of belly per skewer, but DANG! Incredible They also had hot sake, which I find isn't everywhere for some reason. Lunch here was a mixture of good and not so good. I found the food to be flavorful but really salty. I believe combining the butter and Kinya sauces makes the food too salty. Unfortunately this ramen was a no for me. I went with my daughter, as we are on a mission to try every ramen place in Jacksonville. I honestly never tasted ramen like I had here before. I ordered the tonkotsu which is usually a creamy pork broth. This one tasted of fish & not creamy at all. The pork tasted very gamey & odd. I hate to complain and will usually just eat it but I could not stomach this one. I took two bites and let the waiter know the next time he came around that we did not like it & couldn't eat it. He apologized and took it away. Came by ten minutes later and asked if I was ready to check out. I said replied yes as we ordered chicken wings and drinks that I would like to pay for. He told me the total, still charging me for the ramen. When we complained there was no offer of boxing it up or to order something else off of the menu. Unusual customer service. Just opened two weeks ago, the ambiance is modern, all black and gold. It was packed. I will give 5 stars to their t-shirt designer, is so cool that I wanna buy it :) BUT THEY DON'T sell it. Came here for their soft opening 3-day special weekend. We came at the right time - Saturday just before 6pm and we were seated instantly. A few minutes later, place got packed. We opted for the ramen and app bundle. We got the wings and bao. Good starters and they came in fast. We also got the beef and Kinya ramen for an entree.
