I came here for dessert after a very savory meal in Sewickley one evening... This place does a nice, steady business, so the food is definitely fresh! I noticed they had a limited edition menu and apple pie ice cream was on it... HAD TO GET IT!! BTW - All their ice creams are freshly made, in-house. I generally love to try a cookies & cream style ice cream, but when I saw apple pie, I was all in! I ordered two scoops to go and the girl who took care of me was great! When I said I was taking this back to my hotel to eat, she offered to put a top on it and put it in a bag with spoon and napkins - how nice! The ice cream was REALLY GOOD!! Perfectly made with apple pie spices in the ice cream and bits of crust and apple... YUM!! So, I highly recommend stopping, but TAKE CASH!!! They only take cash here, no credit cards.

We had a wonderful first time here the other evening. I had a particularly tough day and was in the need of an ice cream, so my mom and I took the dog out for a ride and went to the closest shop. Kips had good reviews and has been around a long time, and we went in and didn't know what to expect. The place is dog themed- and dog friendly (outside not inside please!) which I didn't know before we went, but the menu items and dexor reflect that theme. They will post a photo of your dog on the wall if you bring it in, and for each item you order they will give you an ice cream cup for your pup! I don't have pictures because a dog leash and an ice cream didn't allow for photography- but I got a featured flavor called "walnuts and gromit" (a play on Wallace and Gromit the characters one of whom is a dog) and it was delicious. Wanuts and vanilla ice cream with butterscotch and butterscotch chips. My mom got a pecan ball with hot fudge. We also ordered my sister two scoops of 101 chocolate chips to go. All three of us got plenty of ice cream for our serving and it was around $12. We will definitely go again

Honestly nothing too special, and quite a bit more expensive than at other places in the city and in the area. The frosting was pretty good, pretty rich, but the brownie itself was fairly dry. Nothing really special about it. Portion was pretty good though. I may come back to try a few other items, but I just didn't find this place all that special.

Unassuming from the outside, it is a small bakery with plenty to offer in the form of homemade baked goods, as well as some candy thrown in for good measure. We enjoyed their maple pastry and they delicious cinnamon roll. The baker was a bit rearranged from the movie - no big deal - and the service was super friendly and answered our questions on when they came to tape for the movie. It was a fun stop and their baked goods are truly delicious.

As you may know, part of the movie was filmed in Ambridge and this bakery is used in one of the scenes. The main characters visit this bakery and have a Swedish eclair, or Semlor. I was hosting our book club this week and thought it would be fun to pick up some semlors for our treat. I called the day before (not realizing they are closed Sunday-Tuesday) to place an order for 18 semlors. They said it would be no problem to make them for me, even though I only gave them just over 24 hours notice. The bakery was beautifully painted back to how it was originally when it opened many many years ago. There is limited seating (only one small table and two chairs) so it's not really meant to be an eat-in bakery. The semlors were a hit with book club! Everyone enjoyed them quite a bit. They did seem to be a little dry to me. Not sure if we got "day old" semlors or they were just drier than I would have guessed. The filling was delicious and plentiful. Would love to come back and try some other items they have--the giant cookies look so yummy!
