My complaint with Kirk Flooring is for not helping me with the problems I had from the poor quality LVT product (floor) they sold me. Dura ceramic luxury vinyl tile by Congolium is by far the worst floor I've ever had. The design and color began to fade in several spots after 2-weeks. It was and is so bad it looked like white paint was splashed on my sage/beige colored LVT. And we were so careful. We even had the bottoms of our chairs and table padded so as not to scratch our new floor, and also diligently only use their recommended (and expensive) floor cleaner. Every time I called Kirk flooring about this awful floor, their way to handle this problem was to send a crew over to replace the tiles (from my leftovers) which cost me more $$ each time they came. They came a few times to replace my tiles, I had to pay more money for them to do this, and that was it. What they should have done was intervened for me with Congolium for a refund or offered me different floor. I cannot imagine I was the first person to ever have this problem with this brand of LVT. They sold an inferior product and did nothing to assist me, the customer. This was a disappointing and expensive experience. read more

Came back to refinish two hallways in my home that have now been refinished by Kirk's 5 times and still has streaks all over the floor. I would have revised my other review but today has been a horrible ordeal with the technician arriving 1 1/2 hours ahead of time, not bring the right gloss finish that matched the original one they applied. So start to finish 6 hours for to small walkway/ hallways, ridiculous! And I have photos to show the refinished work. Maybe they are good at installing floors but when it comes to refinishing don't waste your time, energy and especially money. Kirk comes out and talks a big talk about how he's done all these celebrity homes but totally disappears when the actually work is being completed. Kirk Flooring did the impossible for us! They were able to refinish our wood floor - a combination of solid oak and cheap engineered birch - which other flooring companies had recommended replacement. In addition KF also installed new vinyl flooring in our bathrooms. Kirk Flooring had the best price. The service was unmatched. Kirk himself was a friendly and sincere person to deal with. Salvadore did a great job, and always had a smile on his face. We were surprised at how many different things KF could do to make the job simpler for us. They removed and re-installed the toilets. They removed and replaced the baseboard, caulking, fixed the existing carpet edge, replaced door threshold and weather-stripping. They did a beautiful job on each of the items above. I looked at and interviewed several flooring companies before deciding on local shop - Kirk Flooring. The selection was extensive in terms of style and price. They were very helpful and let me borrow large samples to see how the product would look in my home (some places only provide small PICTURES). They did a beautiful job installing (including skirts). Highest rating! They were responsive to our needs, came in at a fair price to refinish our hardwood floors, emailed the estimate promptly. Arrived on time, did the work beautifully, clean and with excellent instructions for care. A few days later, another of our resources backed out on a carpet stretching need, so I phoned Kirk and that day they sent out two professionals to measure, estimate and do the job. I scheduled an estimate with Kirk and he did not show up until I called him back. Miscommunication. With the person I left a message with. When I called Kirk back he gave me one story why he did not show up and another excuse completely different to my husband. My previous review has been removed, but I feel passionate about this review: Given all he 5 stars that have been provided to date, I have debated long and hard about my review, but as more and more time passes without any contact from Kirk Flooring the more disappointed I have become. I think that I am being generous with the 2 stars. I contacted Kirk several months ago to provide a quote for the installation of bamboo flooring to match what I already had. His suggestion was that I supply the wood. It took a long time to find a close match and I bought the last batch as it was discontinued. The initial rounds of requesting and receiving quotes from K.F. was not as robust as I would have expected. Dealing with contracts and purchase orders on a daily basis maybe made my expectations too high, but the quote was very short on detail. Well, the flooring was installed. It took 3 days to install approx. 300 sq. ft, which was OK as it also involved floating leveling compound on the concrete floor. My main disappointment came after the job was done. I received an email on the final day with an invoice and only a request to pay immediately. No call or visit to find out if the job was satisfactory (which it was not). I made a remark as such in response to the above email, and have yet to hear back from the contractor. I have given K.F. over a week to respond, but nothing. Here are my issues: The quality of the craftsmanship was sub-par. The gaps around the edges (at the walls) were so large in places that the baseboard moldings could actually slide down into the gap. The pie shaped spacers that were cut and placed around the edges were left in place and I had to take them out...often having to chisel them out as the glue had set up and held them in place. (I was responsible for replacing the baseboard moldings) - thank goodness. In various places, upon rapping on the floor with my knuckles, areas sound very hollow, which would indicate that the flooring is not well adhered to the concrete? The crew left a horrendous mess in my backyard (now...my backyard is no fairytale, but still....) The area where the new flooring met with carpeting - the carpet was just left hanging there, not trimmed and tacked, just loose..it only took me less than 10 minutes to trim and push into the tack strip, so just as a matter of pride of workmanship, why couldn't they do that? Beer bottle caps were laying in my backyard. It was a brand that I have never had at my house, so I can only guess that the crew was drinking while working. The crew evidently decided that they needed ballast to hold the newly glued flooring down, so they scavenged items from my driveway and back yard, and not only did they not put things back where they found them, but they used my portable generator and when I got home I found it leaking fuel down the driveway....I repaired that and put it back where it originally was. They used my garden hose to mix the concrete, but left concrete on the threads of the hose fitting, which then dried. I had to chisel that off so that I could reattach the spray nozzle. There were so many dents, gouges and glue stains on the walls, that I had to repair the walls and repaint the room. Not what I had planned to do that weekend, or money that I had planned to spend. K.F. was the most expensive quote that I had received, but contrary to my usual route, I decided not to cheap out and go with the low bidder. Needless to say, I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this company. read more

My husband and I are so happy that we found Kirk flooring. We recently bought a house that has nice wood floors, but they were SO DIRTY and 30 years old. We tried everything to clean them but nothing worked, and any time we took off our shoes, our feet or socks were black within minutes. So, after a bit of research I found out that Kirk Flooring was a certified contractor of the Bona Deep Clean system for wood floors. Kirk came out and did the estimate, and then when we scheduled the cleaning, Kirk and one of his employees came out. I found out at the last minute that I had a meeting that morning and they were flexible enough to delay their arrival until the meeting's end, which was much appreciated on my end. They were very professional, immediately got to work and I have to admit I was skeptical about how much they could get up. I knew the floors were really really dirty, and I didn't know if this step would do the trick or if we were just going to have to sand them down (which is a much larger and significantly more expensive job). Well, I am happy to say that they got all of the dirt up from in between the planks, AND were able to get much of the dirt out of the grain as well. My family and I can now take our shoes off when we enter the house without getting our feet dirty and it feels so good! I am still in awe when I look at the floors and am so appreciative, he has made us much more comfortable in our own home. I 100% recommend them for this service. read more

They price they quoted was similar to others we received, but even when they came to view the floors they had a professional attitude we liked. The workers showed up on time, took good care of our furniture, and did a GREAT job. The work was done on time without any surprises or extra charges. We are very happy with the work. read more
