It took me years before I would go out to Sushi with the family and now I have been going for some time, but I will freely admit I still will not do the uncooked Fish. We have made it a family tradition to go out to Sushi for family members birthdays . Our group was a party of 6. Our group got there at 5:30 and got a table right away, which was great because later they got quite busy. When they get busy it does take more time to get your food, but it is quite good, always leave full. We do the all you can eat.

Food was plentiful and very tasty very fresh enjoyed it

$27.99 all you can eat lunch sushi includes long list of sushi, nigiri and rolls, numerous appetizers, dessert ice cream and saki at dinner. Normally fast service. This is a small place so they're limited tables and most people stay more than an hour but the service is fast and friendly. The servers check on you continually and the sushi Craftsman are constantly putting out fresh and delicious sushi. I especially like their crab wontons and King Kong roll but they have a long list of choices. Try them out. Dinner is $32.99 all you can eat

Great new rolls, snd fried calamari appetizer very inexpensive and fun. Hamachi delicious! Maguro very mediocre quality. Average service and nice ambiance

Sushi Rose is a great spot if you're craving all-you-can-eat sushi. For two people, our total came to $77 and change, which felt like a good value for the amount and variety of food we enjoyed. The sushi was fresh, the service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. The younger waitress was nice and the atmosphere was good . My only negative take away is the older woman who's in there after we were done eating and had handed the younger woman my card came over to inspect my food . But If you're hungry and want to try a little bit of everything, this is definitely worth checking out.

I'm not going to lie, I was very skeptical when I stepped in and tried this place. This was the go to spot back in college because it was cheap and I was not a huge fan of sushi. They have upgraded the place and their price is definitely no longer cheap. I was seated right away when I came in. The sushi were pretty dang good, the nigiri tasted fresh and the rolls were delicious. I would say the rice ratio could be lessen a little bit but, overall still pretty good. The service was friendly and quick. They did add some new rolls and I'm not going to lie the oyster roll was not the greatest but, everything else was good. Overall a great visit and will come back.

This place, fantastic! Love that its busy on a tuesday mid day, and still they are pumping out perfect rolls. My biggest sushi pet peeve is too much rice, Sushi Rose has the perfect ratio. Love the Mountain roll, Jasons Handroll, and Donald Duck. Muscles are 6/10 and you only get 3 orders a person which is enough. If your a fan of quail egg shooters this is the place to go, that tang and spice is wonderfuly pleasant. The place is decorated at a minimum but the food comes out so fast its hard to even look around. Great service and happy workers all around.

A favorite sushi spot! They have great deals during the week and everything comes out nice and fast. The waitresses were attentive and made sure to grab our papers for all you can eat sushi promptly. All of the rolls were really good but I would skip the calamari and fried vegetable appetizers. The calamari was overcooked and the vegetables just didn't have flavor to me. The resultant itself is small, bright and clean! They also have a bar you can sit at and order sushi.

I've been here maybe 3 times in my life. It's a nice setting. Nothing wrong with it or service. I appreciate that you can eat sushi free on your bday with a friend. I just don't get much joy from their sushi. Which is strange because I like sushi. I've ordered so many different rolls and none of them really seem to do it for me. It's all just okay. I'm not sure if it's the combinations they have or just the specific ingredients they are sourcing. It's really showed me there is an art and creativity and uniqueness to sushi. All sushi is not created equally. I'll choose somewhere else for my bday next year.

Inattentive service. 4 of us in the restaurant. Servers standing at the sushi bar visiting. We have had to ask for help 3 times. Selection is okay. Nothing exciting. I would not go out of my way to come here again. Ambience = 0 Music is good.

It has become a ritual for my wife and our friends to celebrate at Sushi Rose for birthdays because you get all you can eat sushi for free on your birthday. Ironically, I do not like sushi, but I do what to shout-out the Chinese food menu available to those like me which is actually really good and their lunch combos are great value.

Sushi Rose is still my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in Reno! The service is always fantastic and the fish is always fresh!!

Craving sushi in NW Reno? We stopped in randomly - glad we did! The rolls were fresh, great options and flavor combinations. I love the Sake, the lemon wedges are the perfect size! Good selection of appetizers, my husband enjoys the hand rolls and mussels. My favorite roll was Titanic, love the jalepeno! Our service was excellent, they did forget a couple of our rolls but it was probably a good thing as we were stuffed. And finished it off with some green tea icecream.

Salmon with a special request of lemon and jalapeno. Hats off to the chef.

Decided to try a new (to me)sushi spot today. The server we had sat us quickly but took a while to get our drink order, when she finally did she forgot about us(she seemed to be the only server so it was understandable). The sushi chef was polite and made the service quick and efficient. The sushi was yummy, all you can eat included appetizers and we did enjoy them. Overall It was good, not my new favorite sushi spot but I would have it again. The place looks very clean and well kept , decor doesn't match but looks aren't as important as taste.

Is it possible to get AYCE takeout on your birthday if you have one other person pay full price?

Probably best to call to see if you can do takeout for the birthday deal. Their menu only states that you have to come in on the exact day of your birthday and you must have one other individual with you that's purchasing a meal.

Can you use the free birthday sushi on any day of your birthday month or does it have to be on your actual birthday?

    Only on your actual birthday

If I brought someone with me for my AYCE birthday meal would they have to pay?

Yes they would. Only the birthday person with their ID get a free meal.

Is the free birthday meal all you can eat?

Yes, it is. Just make sure you have your ID which indicates a date of birth, cuz they will check it.

The menu didn't feel very varied--it was mostly the same types of rolls (crab mostly) with different sauces. That may just be personal preference, since I tend to like shrimp rolls (either cooked or uncooked). When we arrived, we were seated in the far right corner. There were other tables nearby, but because we were a large group, it took a while for anyone to take our drink orders. We even had two separate servers come by to ask for drinks. Once we ordered sushi, that's where things really went downhill. We were split across the tables (four people per table), and although we placed our orders at the same time, half of our group didn't receive their sushi until about 30 minutes after the other part of us. It felt like the order process wasn't managed well. Customer service was also inconsistent. We had to keep asking for items we never received, like refills, and we didn't get straws. Even though the restaurant was busy, I've been to other sushi places on busy nights and never experienced service this slow. The only thing I truly liked was the appetizers. The beef teriyaki was the best thing I had--really tasty. I'd recommend that, but only if you have a lot of time to spare, because the wait for food and follow-ups was a struggle. When we tried to order dessert, it took so long for someone to come back that a few people ended up giving up and not getting dessert at all. Overall, customer service took far too long, and the sushi was just OK--not especially flavorful or memorable for me. The rolls tasted pretty similar, and I don't think I'll be returning.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Actually, I ate more than my fill. Enjoyed it completely. My sushi coma was justified. Well slap my a** and call me Betty! Haha I have been eating all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi in Reno…read morefor over 10 years now and this is the first place I've been able to actually taste how good the fish actually is. To be clear, this is not an AYCE sushi restaurant, and there's other offerings besides sushi including ramen, salad, steaks, and various teriyaki plates. Apparently the food is hand selected by the owner, and helped prepared by the Japanese wife in the kitchen. From what I understand, the line cooks follow traditional Japanese ways including only being able to make a sushi roll after being a line cook for 5 years. As for the food itself, these are the things I've tried: -Maguro (tuna) sashimi: absolutely delightful -Sake (salmon) nigri: really good -Unagi (Eel) sashimi: my favorite nigri, the unagi was so tender it was falling apart. Best I've ever had. -Kazo sake: the combination of all the textures and flavors made this one of my top choices. Think of eating it like a deviled egg, if you're able to fit the whole thing in your mouth, you can taste all the flavors at once. If not, it's still tasty and you can taste the pieces individually! -Mt Rose roll: the textures and flavors were really good! -Fire Ocean roll: Absolutely delicious, and spicy! -Spicy garlic edamame: I wasn't impressed. No crisp on the garlic. The garlic, sweet chili sauce, and edamame felt like they were all cooked separately and combined on the serving plate. The garlic seemed like it was from a jar, and the sauce from the bottle. -Tempura banana with strawberry mochi: we devoured this, the chocolate sauce made the combination of flavors pleasant. I wish the tempura banana had a bit more going on - more crisp and less batter. -Wasabi: the wasabi actually tastes real and not like horseradish!!! It blends into the soy sauce beautifully and it's creamy. Drinks -Sapporo with the Junmai Ginjo sake: light and crisp, really yummy -Honey Citron tea- delightful Service While our service was generally pleasant, we did end up going at least 20 mins at one point without any word from our server while waiting on food. We didn't mind, and it was nice to not be rushed, but some others may want to feel more taken care of. My only slight complaint is that I didn't keep my chopsticks after dinner for our dessert, but we just ended up sharing the one pair we had. It would have been nice to be reminded to keep my chopsticks or to be offered another pair. Ambiance The space is relatively large and Miyabi expanded years ago to accommodate a larger dining area. The only slightly confusing part - I wish it was more clear which door you enter from. The only indicator is the Open sign on the left hand set of doors. All in all, I really enjoy and appreciate good quality food, and while you are paying the price for it here, it's justified. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Sadly there were too many flies landing on my food and baby, I don't want to give them another try. The only good item I've found on their menu is the Mt Rose roll and edamame (for the black salt). The lobster roll was also a rip off; it's covered in sauce so you can't even taste the lobster.

The restaurant - actually the wife of the owner - tried to charge us dinner prices even though we arrived 40 minutes before lunch was over. It took nearly 15 minutes before the bill was corrected (one would think that the owner's wife would have had that authority). Instead we had to endure a 'who's on first' Indian comedy routine (but it wasn't funny). And the men's restroom was out of service during our visit.
