We got the itemized bill as part of the printout only after we had paid. When my turn came, she told me the amount as she handed me the machine. I asked if I could add a tip. She showed me how to do that and even then did not tell me the tip had been included in the amount she had told me. I added18% only to find the bill already included 12 %. My friends had the same experience. The lame excuse trotted out was that the tip goes to the chef. But that was not the point. If they planned to treat us as a large group, we should have been informed. I ASSUME that for large groups they add a service charge to the bill, though this was not stated in the menu or on their website. If, after that, we chose to leave an additional tip that would be our prerogative. The amounts are not large but I have an allergy to sleight of hand. I will not visit this place again.
