Best chopped salad I've had. I should have known better than to get the large because it's A LOT of salad. I got to add so many yummy goodies to it, many options of fresh veggies, walnuts, cranberries and avocado and cheese. I loved their honey mustard dressing. Delish! I couldn't eat the whole thing, despite of how good it was. Unfortunately, as is with many a salad, it was a bit soggy the next day from the dressing and I didn't finish it. Lesson learned - a small is sufficient unless you are sharing with someone. Kitchen Kabaret is quite huge when you walk in, and it can be a bit overwhelming with all of the options that they have available. I have to come back on a day in which I have more time to explore. Service was very friendly and there are tables to sit and dine in though it was fairly crowded on the day I came. Yes, the prices are a bit high but not unusual for the area and if you share a large salad with someone I'd say it's a bargain. Based on the quality of the food, I would definitely come back and try something new. They offer a ton of prepared food, acai bowls, smoothies and juices, and lots of cookies and other confections (because you can't eat healthy ALL the time - sometimes in life, ya gotta have a brownie!) I called to ask if they had caviar for New Years and spoke to two people in the store. They said to ask for Ray at the deli counter when I got there. In addition to my conversation, the hold music stated that caviar was available and delivered daily. When I arrived the staff said what I was told on the phone must have been a joke and they don't have any. I left the store feeling so insulted. I called again to let them know what happened and a third person said they haven't sold caviar in years, contradicting the two people I spoke two at first, as well as the information relayed while I was on hold. Come here! It's one of the top places in Roslyn I recommend. But be warned it is a little overwhelming. If you're someone can never make up their mind, don't come here. But if you like good food and trying new dishes stop in. This place has a lot of health conscious items. This is a really convenient place to get whatever food you might be craving for the day! It's a little confusing at first because if you order something, let's say at the omelette station, you get a card and have to pay at the coffee station and then return the stamped card to pick up your food. A little tricky to figure out at first but once you get it, super easy to maneuver through. As mentioned, they have an omelette station, pizza, and a deli section so it's perfect to stop by and get lunch. There are so many different flavors of coffee, including banana split! They also have a seating area by the coffee so after you grab your food you can sit and eat. This place is really interesting. It's like a market with a bunch of counters preparing different foods. A deli counter, a salad counter, breakfast, smoothies and açaí bowls, sandwiches etc. I was a little overwhelmed and unsure of where to go for things especially because it is so tightly packed and busy. I ended up getting a pre-made yogurt parfait and it was amazing! My friend had an açaí bowl and she enjoyed it. The store aspect is most intriguing to me. I would like to go back and purchase some things. I also love the barrels of coffee beans on the wall. Once you walk in, there are breakfast stations, salad stations, soup stations, pizza ovens, you name it, they probably carry it. All of their culinary offerings are displayed neatly in clean and bright cases for you to peruse. I've grabbed breakfast here a number of times and its always been solid if not spectacular. It's really popular with locals who grab food on their way to work. Prices are fair for the area and service is friendly. I am still in shock over how I was spoken to over the phone today by the man who I believe to be in charge. Hostile and aggressive are the two words I would use to describe him. As soon as he answered the phone, I cringed because I recognized his voice from having dealt with him before and he is always so awful. Well, I am never calling again because they have lost my business. Not only was I made to feel like it was my fault that one of the items on their website's menu wasn't available to order through Door Dash, when I had to call back again because the solution he begrudgingly gave me didn't work, he became increasingly even more rude. I couldn't believe someone would speak to a paying customer like this - I can only imagine how he treats the staff. Then, when my order for 9 sandwiches arrived I dreadfully had to call him again because one of the sandwiches was missing. No apologies were given, I was told I had to call Door Dash and have them come back. As if his staff forgetting to include a sandwich was my problem and now Door Dash's. Rather than apologize he said "he would not dispute" that the sandwich was missing. I was floored at this response. Overall, terrible experience over the phone with this man. Positive post for Kitchen Kabaret in Roslyn heights. I really enjoy their iced coffee, and their decaf iced coffee is so delicious. They have every possible thing you can want for lunch and some dinner foods and it's very clean inside with friendly staff. The employees are trained well because they work efficiently and even when there's a long line during lunch hours, it moves fast. The only thing I wasn't so thrilled about today was i order a turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich on white bread (no lettuce and tomato) and it was $8.99. It's a little expensive for a simple sandwich, but, it was actually delicious and you can tell the person that made my sandwich layered the meat and cheese nicely. This place is a trap for the North Shore House Wives. I've been here once before and was forced to come here a second time. The service is a madhouse and very disorganized. The atmosphere is everyone likes to stare and talk loud. Typical house wives or those who get suckered in by its appearance. Seats are closely put and the coffee machines by the those tables are very bothersome for those who are sitting by it. Had this one annoying lady who insisted making multiple coffees, but kept hitting into our table. Lastly, the food was just as bothersome. Eggs weren't cooked as I asked - I also asked for light ketchup and received a ketchup sandwich basically. Prices are more expensive for no reason. Drink selection was great though! Parking lot can get jammed and these people can't drive for their lives over here - dent central and traffic! I stopped by this week on my way to play golf with a few friends, we picked a few sandwiches which the staff accommodated all customization requests that my friends and myself had and cut the sandwiches in fours so we could all share. I have had a love hate with Kitchen Kab for the last couple of years. The quality of food is generally good, but the service is less to be desired. I am a big breakfast person. I understand orders can be mixed up every now and again, but for the last two years I hold my breath and pray when I go to Kitchen Kab. I have had sandwiches made missing this or an addition of that. I have complained to the counter guy who was making it and to management. The truly frustrating part is they don't write things down. I would say my experience is 50 percent leaving with what I ordered. The manager is very Proffesional and when I asked why the counter cooks don't write orders down, he seemed as frustrated as I was. I have resigned myself to driving an extra 5 minutes to Roslyn deli. They have a POS and you can see the order you made. The quality is as good and getting the correct order has a much higher percentage. I understand when places are crazy busy and mistakes can be made. I don't understand being one of the first ones in there, I work fairly early, and having to be a watchdog hoping my order will be correct.
